Hi everyone! I am a full time nurse for a pediatric mental health inpatient program! I love every minute of it! Since finding out I am pregnant I went to a lower security unit so me and baby won't be at risk.
I am a hairstylist as well. I have been doing hair for 11 years. I will be taking a few clients here and there when my husband is off work after the baby! Self employed is great!
I'm a research assistant professor and I will get 8 weeks of paid maternity leave. I plan to go back to work after that, but My job is pretty flexible so I will work from home as much as I can. Fortunately I don't have to teach. I'm just trying to get as much done as I can now and will try to keep my workload light after the baby comes by not taking on new projects.
I'm a financial advisor and am in business with my sister and my dad...not sure how much time I'm going to be taking. I only took 5 weeks with DS but am hoping for 6 or 7 with this one!
I am a corporate payroll accountant in a quickly growing business. Im 26 and this our first pregnancy and im extremely scared for these next few weeks! I think ill catch my breathe and be even more excited once we pass the MC window. No idea what we're gonna do yet in terms of child care after maternity leave, but we have 9 months to figure it all out! Congrats to all of you!!
I just got promoted to Supervisor in clinical services at a medical diagnostic lab and found out a week later that I am pregnant. I haven't decided whether I'm going back to work, but I'm thinking I'll bank all my vacation, take 3 or 4 months off if I can and then head back to work.
I am a full time med/surg nurse and I will probably go back to work at least part time depends on where my husband and I are at since he is in the military never know when we are going to be moved around
I'm the accountant and membership manager at a commercial real estate association. I plan to take at least 8 weeks off. Although I will have to do some work from home while on maternity leave.
I am a lead in a call center for a major healthcare insurance company. I get 6 weeks disability leave. Honestly our entire maternity leave and process is a joke (which is sad considering I work for a healthcare company) but anyway I am undecided for now, but it looks like I may leave after the baby is born and go back working for the doctor's office part time. It just depends on finances. If anyone needs help understanding they're insurance I'd be happy to help!
I'm a realtor in California. I have a 2.5 year old and have been able to do real estate easily with her so I assume having another will be fine too . My daughter will be in pre-school in the morning when the new baby comes.
I am a manager at a long term care home. I am very lucky to have a whole year off with my baby. I do plan on going back to work, maybe part time after my Mat leave is over...... I may decide to take an extra few months until my 2.5 yr old starts school. I wish I could be a stay at home mom, just not in the cards for us.
I am a production manager and yoga teacher in training. I live in New Zealand and we have an almost 3 year old girl. I am planning on coming back to work part time after 8-9months. I really love my job and I found out with my daughter that I am not cut out to be a stay at home mum.
I have very random jobs... I run a choreography company, am an artist manager, and run the business side of my husband's production company. It's all from home so nothing will change once baby #2 arrives :-)
I am a Web Content Specialist for a jewelry insurance company. This is our second baby and I will be taking at least the full 12 weeks of FMLA alloted plus accrued vacation, which is a generous 4.5 weeks at my company. Might use that PTO to work short weeks in the beginning rather than extend maternity leave.
I teach grade 6 and am also considering doing the same thing! Taking the whole 2015-16 academic year and starting again Sept 2016.... Wondering if I will regret leaving baby a month early in daycare?
I'm an artefact conservator, but right now I'm working on stone conservation. So I work with a lot of masons patching and repairing stone on an enormous restoration project.
I work full time 10 hr midnight shifts at a home for residents with MR. Part time employee at my home towns hospital in registration. As well as an independent consultant for Pink Zebra products. I have no idea what's going to happen yet. I have to talk to my full time job about what is offered for my situation. I may not get much time off. Gosh do I wish I could afford to be a stay at home mommy and just sell PZ products on the side for fun.
I left my corporate job when I had my daughter. I love being a SAHM and probably will not go back to work until both children are in school full time... if even then! haha

I am on the same boat as @ccolling, I work in the tech industry as software QA for lucky magazine. I plan on taking the 4 weeks my company offers and the full leave from FMLA.
I'm hoping to negotiate a part time work from home situation when I go back. I have that option now but it's always on an as needed basis, so fingers crossed. My boss is a great guy, so I have high hopes
@teamjaplus3 how do you change your screen name?! I've been trying to as my screen name is my maiden name from theknot.com
Well, my job isn't as glamorous as everyone else but kudos to all of you hard working ladies. (: I work night shift at a retail store and go to school full time to get my bachelor's degree in computer repair.
I'm a full time RN on days. I don't love what I do, but I'm getting there. Love love love the team I work with. Really wanted to try being a stay at home mom, but we just couldn't make it work. I'll get 12 weeks after the baby, and I'm taking every second!
Hi everyone! I'm a Salon Owner/Cosmetologist and I have a 2 1/2 year old. I am very lucky to have a great group of employees and management! I will take about 6 weeks off and then work half days until the new baby (due Oct. 9) is about 6 months when it can start to school with its sister
Re: Getting to Know You - Occupation
No time off happening here.
I must say I am somewhat terrified of what it's like with more than one! :-O

I changed it pretty easily on theknot.com. I couldn't for the life of me change it on thebump.com
