Still thinking of you! Can you try a cup of ice water to shrink your finger down then lotion? With the way things are going I'd want to get that ring off asap. Just in case!
Just got back from MFM and they basically said what I thought. I can go home (don't know when cause they just put me back on the monitor when I came back..umm) but have to come in twice weekly for monitoring. Failed kick count means come in right away don't even bother calling. I'm gonna get steroid shots (has anyone had them? What are the side effects?) and probably more bloodwork. The cabin fever is real and I wanna get the hell out of here and in my own bed.
He said we're just gonna shoot for 37 weeks but if the fluid gets any lower it's gonna be a c section right away. My pockets of fluid are at the bare minimum right now and have only been getting lower so I worry this will happen sooner rather than later.
So I'll likely be meeting this little guy any time in the next 3 weeks
I'm sorry to hear you are dealing with this! How your little one stays where it's warm and cozy as long as possible! Sending positive thoughts your way.

So glad you get to go home!! I'm hoping you make it to 37 weeks but glad they'll be checking you frequently. I'd been keeping up on mobile so didn't realize you're already almost 34 weeks -- thank goodness. I'm sorry it seems like a c-section is almost certainly on the table. Keep us posted!
I got the steroid shots, these are for the lungs right? The only side effect I experienced was it stung going in but after that was fine. I had to get the first then a second one 24 hours later. I'm not sure about any other side effects. I know my baby came out crying and still needed some more surfactant just after he was born, but not much. He also didn't need a ventilator, just bubble CPAP for not quite a week. And he only needed oxygen for maybe two hours. I'm assuming all that has to do with the lungs and that the steroids helped to develop his quicker.
I'm so sorry you didn't get the answer you were hoping for! Fx he stays put and cooperates for the next 3 weeks and that your fluid level doesn't get lower or you don't fail your kick counts! I'm glad you have some answers and you are able to go home to your own bed.
I'm sorry you're going through this, but glad you finally got some insight. FX your fluid levels don't get any lower & LO can stay put as long as possible.
Thanks for the update, Janda. I'm glad that you're heading home, but sorry that the news wasn't great. I know a c-section wasn't your plan. Keep your chin up and we'll be here to support you. Sending lots of positive vibes for a healthy baby boy at 37 weeks!
I'm glad you get to go home; I know L&D cabin fever is no joke! FX that baby boy can stay put for as long as possible. Keeping you guys in my thoughts! ((hugs))

@Sstites26 yup they're for the lungs. It wasn't so bad but definitely a nasty shot. How many weeks were you with your baby?
Thank you all. It really sucks that this is almost definitely going to be a c section but honestly I just want him to be healthy. I'm glad that I'll be 34 weeks on Thursday and odds are more in my favor. They said I wouldn't have needed the steroid shots if I was 34 weeks so I just missed the cutoff but hey, maybe it'll really help with his lungs. This is gonna be a stressful few weeks but I'm doing what I gotta do to keep this boy cooking as long as I can! I can't believe I'll be meeting him soon
