@babys2014 nope literally nothing down there that I would think is fluid. I'm also confused what makes it get lower. I'm hoping that's an answer I can get tomorrow

Have they mentioned anything about his kidneys or your blood pressure? I know those things can cause fluid to be lower. But hoping it's something as simple as dehydration! Good vibes sent your way for tomorrow!

[This is JUST my best educated guess] I know babies swallow it -- google just told me that by term, they swallow 15 oz a day. If everything is going well, the swallowed fluid is digested, enters their circulation system & eventually goes thru the kidneys and they pee it back out. So for some reason, he's (almost certainly) swallowing the fluid, but not peeing as much back out. I'm guessing the most common reason for that (knowing both you & baby are otherwise healthy) would be a placenta issue - not as much blood is entering his circulation, so he's essentially using the amniotic fluid to replace volume that's not coming in via the placenta...? Does that make sense?
I suppose it doesn't do anyone any good for me to just guess -- you'll have to tell us what the docs say tomorrow!
I missed how you first found out about this issue - were you measuring small or something?
@mangomimosa that definitely makes sense. The on call doc last night said her best bet was a placenta issue but we'll hopefully find out for sure tomorrow.
And I was measuring small but had an ultrasound anyway to check on the CP cyst and that's when they saw the low fluid, last Monday. So these are all very recent developments!

Man -- well, I'm glad they caught it & are monitoring you. I know it sucks to be in the hospital though. Thinking of you a ton! FX they can figure out what's going on & buy him as much time as possible to keep baking!
