Anyone still around these parts or have we all abandonded ship?
I work from home on Thursdays without the kids...it's easily my favorite date of the week because I can get so much done.
However, I often find myself in a battle on what to actually tackle (besides work) do I go on that run I wanted to get in? Meal plan and grocery shop? Re-organize the kids drawers and pack away old clothes? Finish laundry (yes)....
you are a go getter! i would do none of those things and sit down and watch the today show with Matt Lauer and Al Roker.
that is how i work from home!
but in answer to your question i have offered no real help - I suppose i would go with the one would make the biggest impact on your to do list that would be the easiest to do without the kids around.
You just described my morning every day. I was thinking yesterday that if this board fell off, I would try to use my bump time for good and actually clean a little during the day. It is sad how little house work I do during the day.
Yeah, I want to know where the FB drama is if it's TB related. The old FB or this new one? I haven't asked to be added to the new one yet, and I just removed myself from the old one a few months ago. I didn't know anyone.
old one. And it was stupid. A couple people who rarely participate over there getting all butt hurt because @redneckmomma25 brought up the rules & wanting to kick people out if they don't participate. Then @melsax & @indigovader bringing hilarity and shenanigans to the table. But really, it was stupid.
I'm here. I've been catching up on the FB dramz all morning. Holy hell.
Oo care to share? Is it TB FB dramz?
I'm here. @alinnjo that poor dog! I took my dog on a walk the other day and had to turn around at the end of the street because the pads of his feet were hurting him. It was like 2 minutes outside.
I have a serious question. Could my cat lick its asshole anymore? I think the answer is no, but just wanted to verify.
I'm making tots for breakfast. I wonder if I'd be more productive working from home if I only got one day a week to do it. I normally do 2 but lately I've been home 3 days a week and I don't get anything done.
I want it for dinner. DH asks "with what?" Because to him, apparently it is not dinner.
The same way he doesn't believe that soup is dinner. Once in awhile, I remember how great it was living by myself because I had no one else to please with my meals.
My DH thinks dinner = meat. He thinks there should be a huge hunk of it. He would never count meat in a salad. It's ridiculous.
Mine would want to meat on said salad.
This is coming from a man who holds meat-fest every year with his friends. Its an entire evening of just meat, no sides, just smoked meats, grilled meats and meats in ball form. He finds a meal of meat no sides to be quite acceptable and wonders why he can only do this every once in a while instead of every day - men!
I don't know how it happened, but I just ate an entire thing of chive cream cheese. That's 7 servings x 70cal/5g fat per. Plus some crackers. Where do I go from here with my day? I'm making a super fatty calorie heavy dinner, so this was a really good decision.
I feel like a new woman today. DH & I did a shift night with Sam. I slept from 9-12 with him on Sam-duty unless he needed to eat which was at 10:30. Then at 1, DH (who is normally more if a night-owl) handed Sam off for my shift (another feeding & diaper) and then Sam slept in his RNP from 2-5a and then again from 6-just now!!
Yay, glad you found a routine that works. That is how DH and I did it with Leo. I went to bed a little after James and slept until DH went to bed around midnight and I would take the next wake up after that.
So is that where everyone is, at the new FB group? It seems slow here Everyone is leaving me.
@harti09 is he getting the sides of the nail cut out and the chemical put in there to avoid future ingrowns? I had that done so it looks like I have super huge toes and skinny toenails. Awesome, because my feet looked so awesome to begin with.

I think you need to give yourself a break. You are pregnant, tired and stressed out. When I was pregnant when Lennon I ate french fries like 3 -5 days a week. Sometimes you just don't have what it takes to eat healthy and drink 85 gallons of water and walk 3 miles. Some days you just want to eat an entire package of Oreos, or watch a Real Housewives marathon instead of doing anything productive. You're a good mom, a good wife and a good person. Eat a ton of cream cheese for breakfast, have a burger and fries for lunch and enjoy the shit out of your delicious chicken and dumplings tonight. You can eat extra healthy tomorrow if you're in the mood.

You know, there was a big case here over the last few months...homeless young man was sleeping in a park, cops found him, there was an altercation, the young man got the cop's baton and was beating him with it, and the cop shot him. Cop is white, young man was black. The cop isn't being charged so it's been a really big deal here. People were protesting our downtown...blocking entire main streets and walking along, stopping in the middle of the road, and one FRIDAY AT RUSH HOUR, they took over part of the freeway right by downtown.
IMO, you're breaking the law, you should be arrested. No negotiation, no warnings, no nothing. I'm still mad about all these f-ing protesters that have been all over Milwaukee. It's out of control. Everyone wants to make this case a race thing. Meanwhile we've had 3 kids 10 and under shot and killed in Milwaukee in the last year due to gang violence, drive bys, etc. and no one gives a shit about that because it's not black vs. white, police vs. citizens. I get so fired up about this.
I want it for dinner. DH asks "with what?" Because to him, apparently it is not dinner.
The same way he doesn't believe that soup is dinner. Once in awhile, I remember how great it was living by myself because I had no one else to please with my meals.
Definitely a meal. Well.. wait.. is it caesar salad with chicken on it? Or chicken salad, done caesar style? Either way for me it'd be a meal, but I could definitely see a guy not accepting it if it were the second option. H used to be a big meat and potatoes guy, but I'm slowing switching him over and expanding his horizons. Until he met me, he'd never eaten a sweet potato, and didn't know that oranges could be peeled and eaten. He's only ever cut them and sucked the juice out. wtf?
I'm 1 hr into my 3 hr GD test. I feel squicky.
@alinnjo Poor puppy! My bil has a great dane and he's awesome. That makes me sad.
@melody921 Poor girl! Aria has strep right now. Are you waiting for a long culture?
We used to get an entertainment book for free as a gift from Menards. Where we live it doesn't make sense for us but a larger city, well worth it.
I was going through and starting to get tax paperwork ready. This is the first year we've used an IHDC otherwise we pay my mom cash. So I contacted our provider, yeah she doesn't claim it on her taxes. I can't imagine how much she's making tax free. She charges us $27/hr and usually has at least 4-5 kids full days.
Um, that sounds way shady on her part.
Thanks for all the well wishes for DD, ladies. I'm hoping this is a short-lived illness. DH is with her right now, but I might get to stay home for the extra snuggles tomorrow.

We have salad for dinner all the time as the only thing. I don't even serve bread most of the time so I say you are being fancy adding a side to your salad
@jenndub thanks for the pep talk. I have been at the fridge all day today, whaa whaa.
I feel like I'm spiraling into the debbie downer I was before and right after I had W. I was pretty intolerable.
But on the up side, the baby definitely dropped. No indigestion!!!!! I have been sleeping so well. My back pain is insane, bladder hurts, and lightning crotch is out of control, but I'll take it all and more for the indigestion relief!

Yes, totally a meal. If the salad did not have chicken, I could see your DH questioning. But that is complete IMO.

I want to hear more about these rules. That is why I prefer an open forum, rules suck. But I can also see wanting to clean out the list to try to revive the board with people that actually use it.
@melody921 Sawyer's new leotards are here and I love them! Thanks for the link.
@jenndub, I saw this adorableness on IG last night and was going to ask if it was the new one, but then I got distracted and never got back online. Love it! I seriously want to put DD in dance just so she can wear one of these. And that reminds me, for those of you who have kids in dance, where do they go? Our local community center doesn't start until 3 years old, and some of the local dance schools are crazy with their requirements for LOs. I'm not signing up my 2-year-old for a year-long dance commitment at this point.

You worry about it when you're no longer pregnant.

There's a shit ton of people on there who haven't posted in who knows how long. Both on FB or on here. It's weird to think that we're all part of this FB group and there's creepers who know our real names yet never contribute. so redneck said the rules should be enforced and if you haven't contributed in however long, you should be removed. then people got irrational.

That. Andplusalso... 7 servings of a 70cal thing is only 490 calories, which is more than acceptable as a meal. That's less than 25% of the daily rec., and you're pregnant so you get a bit more room.
@marisakathleen Thank you for sharing with those of us who aren't in the Facebook group. I like hearing what's going on. I don't know why you'd get upset about being removed from a group if you never say anything. I understand liking to know what goes on with other people, but if you were really that invested, I think you'd chime in every once and a while.
I haven't been around in forever because I was having log in issues, but I finally figured out my stupid password! Hooray! Right now I'm over toddler tantrums, frozen toes and fingers and this damn cramping from my IUD. You guys and all your new squishes are making me very jelly too, can't wait until we can start TTC again!

holy (insert swear word). There is no way I could afford this!! And that's crazy that she isn't claiming any of that-- that's like >$100 an hour when all kids are there. I will move to your town and watch B for half that
I just realized I put hour bhahaha, I meant day oops! It wouldn't make sense for me to work if I had to pay that crap!

Sawyer dances at the rec center by our house. She takes class for 30 minutes once a week. The first 15 minutes is tap and the second 15 minutes is ballet. It's adorable and she loves it. Her first recital is on the 23rd. I am SO excited!!!!!!!!!!!! Emma dances for a competition team and it's a pretty big commitment. She dances for 3 hours on Tuesday nights and 1 hour on Wednesday nights. She started competitive dance at age 5, but she only did 2 hours of class per week.

@tinyhumantoe - You get a free pass during pregnancy. You don't have to be perfect everyday. Jenndub said it perfectly. The end is near! I sucked at the end of my pregnancies, I was pretty cranky overall.
I also am interested in all this FB drama from the old site and would love to know who is doing all the protesting. I never joined because it was too big of a group for my comfort level before, so I like the smaller version.
I wish anyone else in my house would eat a salad with me. I love salads as a meal. DH hates lettuce (it's weird), so he definitely would not consider a salad a meal. For some reason both boys have taken a distaste to it as well. I eat it and we offer it all the time, but now Brody won't touch it and Aedan spits it out. I don't know what's wrong with them men in my life.
I am essentially making a crockpot of salt for dinner that's supposed to resemble chicken & dumplings. I'll let you know how it tastes and if I die or not, because it's super easy to make.
3 chicken breasts, 3tbsp butter on top, cream of chicken, chicken broth, onions, parsley. Then I'm supposed to shred the chicken, then cube pieces of raw grands biscuits and throw them in for an hour.
My mom's made it and it's pretty good. I'd add more veggies to her version than she does though.
@tinyhumantoe We had someone walk right into our old house when we were first living together. DH & I were right there watching TV and DH jumped up so fast. Scared the shit out of us. The guy claimed he thought it was his apartment building. Riiiiight. DH's old house was all brick in an older neighborhood. It was on the corner of a residential, but busier boulevard. It has colonial-type look with art-deco features built in 1938. No way it looked like an apartment building based on its surroundings. This guy was on something.
@melody921 We have one, small dance studio in our town. Quinn just started in the 2 1/2- 3 year old class. She goes once a week for an hour. It's a general intro to dance/ballet. They do get to be in the recitals. She does a winter recital and a summer one. Quinn will be in the summer recital and I'm way excited! We pay monthly and we could stop going at any time.
@AlinnJo Thx! I think I put something in one of the daily random threads. Love that i'd rather AW Sam here, than my J15 BMB. I don't even "know" them at all.
Also, I need to get some real pics on our big camera of him too. So many random post-nursing/cuddling shots on my phone.
Oh and we are doing NB pics on Tues at freaking 8am. We were late to our NB checkup today which was at 9:30. Oops. I told DH, we have to get up by 6 to get everyone fed, ready, and looking picture presentable. I'm keeping outfits simple-for one look Big Bro/little bro shirts, jeans, barefoot boys. Then I'm going to have a family shot with DH & I in a gray/cream nuetral color scheme with odds and ends from our closets.
@kelbel527, DH loves salads, but as an appetizer/side. And he wants to eat dressing with a little lettuce sprinkled in.
I hate iceburg lettuce. It's just odd. I want a leafy, green, hearty lettuce like Romaine, or Bibb. Bibb is my favorite. it's so delicious and yea. I just love it.

Iceberg is a total waste in the lettuce department. I've always liked Red Leaf. The color makes it fun. :-)
