L went through a weird day where she wouldn't nurse when she was about seven or eight months. She would scream if she even thought I was going to try to nurse her. She would drink expressed milk from a cup, but wouldn't even consider nursing. The only thing I could think was that the day before she bit me and I yelled and I thought maybe she was scared. It took changing positions and location (as in not the chair where we normally nurse) slowly and calmly coaxing her to just try it, then she slowly relaxed and nursed happily ever after. It only lasted like 12 hours, but it was horrible.

I hope it was just a fluke Maple. I sometimes think babies go through growth spurts that are painful and make them restless or they just start becoming more aware and learn they can refuse things (naps, bottles, food, etc).

I guess. Looking again they look like the same thing. I feel bad for not taking him sooner now, but I figured it was a scratch or something that was just in a bad spot healing-wise. Can't take them in for every little thing

((Hugs)) MK. You're absolutely right, you can't run to the Dr. for every little thing. You're doing ggreat. The important thing is you caught the second one now and are going to get it checked out now that you know it might be something more than irritation/a scratch.

I totally thought you meant J was one of those kids that hid things in their diaper. Once I changed E's diaper and found a train whistle. Once a quarter. Your problem is much worse and less funny.

This was what I thought, too. I also thought maybe he was eating weird things. My mom took my older brother to the doctor once bc he pooped little black wormy things. It turned out he had eaten a scrap of fabric from a skirt she had hemmed.

yeah, P loves to shove things in his diaper, so I thought this too. He also always has crumbs in his diaper after meals, but he eats with a onesie and pants on... he's talented.

I hope you figure it out soon and it is nothing major.

My dad came to visit with his girlfriend on the way to a cruise. He and his girlfriend were wearing wedding bands. I didn't say anything, but wtf! I am so weirded out.

Oh gosh, @SuperTinkerham! I would be weirded out, too. Any ideas why they wouldn't just come out and tell you if they actually got married? I mean, that's kind of not something you just wait for someone to ask about.

I think I was too surprised to comment. I asked mister later if he thought they were wedding bands and mister had noticed them too.

They've been together for just over a year. He moved in w her out of assisted living after they'd been dating for about 6 months. He previously said they weren't getting married so she could keep getting her deceased husband's benefits. I don't know her Lastname.

We were out of touch for several years. We don't have much of a relationship (obviously).

Zweiback

1/2 c. milk (breastmilk if available)
1 pkg active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp.)
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter- melted
1/4 tsp salt

3 eggs
3 c. flour

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Scald the milk and when lukewarm add to the yeast. Add the sugar, butter, salt, anise and the eggs and enough flour to handle (I translate this as enough flour so you can handle the dough and it's not too sticky.) Let rise until light (almost doubled) Make into 3" oblong rolls, place on a buttered pan and let rise again. Bake 20 minutes. When cold cut into 1/2" slices and bake a second time (I usually do this on cooling racks on trays so both sides are affected) until browned.

Last night I prepared a batch of the Who is Pat crinkle cookies (subbing applesauce for eggs) and baked a dozen this morning using sweetened coconut flakes instead of powdered sugar. Yummy plus now I have three dozen balls of the dough in the freezer. I've liked every variety I made (original, cinnamon sugar, and now coconut). These cookies have satisfied my MSPI sweet tooth, and I hope they become my signature item for potlucks over time!

Here's the recipe I used since I didn't have regular eggs but had applesauce on hand. They'll always be Who is Pat cookies to me even though OP's (sorry, I can't remember who) grandmother didn't know who Pat was either LOL

This is what Rosie and I did last night.

We'll probably make another flavor tonight. I also sold one of my NIP TT's last night. I did an auction and it ended at 110$ for the final bid. Which was pretty shocking TBH. Also, I really don't want to go to chem today. We're supposed to be covering significant figures today, ick.

The only part of my house that got cleaned this weekend was the kitchen. I really, really, really need to clean, but instead I'm just sitting in my recliner under my napping kiddo sipping on some coffee while A entertains herself with a new Christmas toy. I'm going to regret spending this time doing nothing later tonight when my house is even more destroyed, but for now it feels really nice.

This was me too last time I made the crinkles so that's why I only baked one dozen today and froze the rest of the dough. I also put them on top of the fridge so they're sorta out of sight, out of mind.

@haileyq, I used 1 cup of unsweetened applesauce instead of eggs following foodallergymama's recipe.

I have an embroidery on M's wall, made by my Great Aunt and passed down. She's napping but its something along the lines of - cleaning can wait, snuggle your baby. You are making the right choice

My MIL had one of those 70's kitchen wall plaques that said "Thank God for dirty dishes, for they have a story to tell. While others are going hungry, we are eating very well." As a mom of six, she's always very positive (sometimes to the point of nauseating all of us daughter in laws LOL)! A couple years ago, she spoke at a MOPS event and talked about how cleaning can wait but yes, snuggle your baby
