DH is going to his company's holiday party tonight. There will be an open bar, fancy dinner, and gambling with fake money for really cook prizes (like tablets and such). Meanwhile I will be at home trying to get two fussy, sick kids to bed. I am trying really hard not to be insanely jealous.
My belly button popped out and I'm only 9 weeks. Why is the bloating so bad this time? Unless there are like 5 babies in there that I don't know about this is just insane.
CTM E wouldn't smash her cake either. So I smashed it for her to try to encourage her. Then she just tried to clean it up. You can see how unimpressed she is. But it was still really fun and you will cherish the memories as much as the pictures.
Today's my wedding anniversary. One year. My husband brought me flowers, and I've prepared an array of leftover homemade chili and leftover takeout thai food. This isn't ideal.
Happy anniversary @ovenrack, it's our 6th. And mh is in OKC, and I spent the whole day cleaning house, then inventing errands to keep us out of the house for 5 hours for showings on the house. I'm making chef salad for dinner. Not ideal either.

Thanks for all the ideas to keep my nieces and nephew busy inside today since it's another subzero day. Instead oobleck I made cloud dough (didn't have enough cornstarch for enough oobleck, but flour is plentiful), played with play Doh, decorated cupcakes cones with the leftover frosting from the freezer from Christmas, and threw crayons and such a them towards the end. I also put on some dance/movement music videos to keep them moving but not running around crazy in the house.
Omg guys, I don't know what's going on with M. She would barely nurse without screaming earlier. Wouldn't sleep. I thought teething, so we gave her some tylenol. No go. If I brought out of the bedroom she would be ok for 10 minutes or so and then start fussing/eye rubbing, so I would try to get her to bed again. She would be fine at first but within a minute she would scream again. The weird part is really the no nursing. She loves food, she never doesn't nurse. And I kept checking and have plenty of milk. I finally have her asleep in the boba (2 hours later than usual), but I anticipate her waking up on transfer. Any ideas? Suggestions?
I managed to talk E into unlocking the door. After 5 minutes of her crying at the door that she "needs" me. Well then unlock the door and let me in you little stinker!
@mapleme maybe you were right and it is an ear infection. Or any signs of HFM?.

@mapleme Oh no! I hope M starts feeling better soon. You might check and see if she's old enough for Advil/Motrin now. I think 6 months is the accepted minimum, but Google will know for sure.
Yes, it's 6m for Motrin and dosage is 1.25. Speaking of, P did NOT react to target brand of ibuprofen, but I'm still almost positive it was the local store brand of ibuprofen that she reacted to.

Maple my thought would be ear infection. The only time ever that E didn't want to nurse was when she had an ear infection. I hope M is feeling better soon and you get some sleep!
@stringy813 Nope, no phone. Couldn't even bump while I was locked out. (Also, that was in the OP, gosh you're pretty. ) And P was sitting on the living room floor. Luckily I could see her from where we both were.
OR thanks for telling everyone I'm a 50 yo dude. Way to keep a secret. You're the worst wife I've ever had.

Really? I'm kind of terrified to put N in a toddler bed. He has never tried to climb out of the crib, and he sleeps pretty well in it. I'm tempted to leave him in it until he's 3 or 4.
Okay, I hate to mention it, but there is supposedly an 8 month wakeful. I think it falls in line with the teeth and brain development thing. But hopefully it's just that and not that she's getting sick.

could crawling or something like that be just around the corner? All hell broke loose once V figured how to pull to standing in the crib.... which was after he had been cruising around for a bit. For some reason standing in the crib was harder.

Then leave him! It has just worked wonders for my personal bedtime battle.
I'm so happy that little M is sleeping better now!

I looked at one of those things that were something like top 10 sleep mistakes parents make. One of them was moving to a bed too soon and suggested not doing so until 2yo at least. But I still think the toddler bed helped V's sleep troubles, not hurt, and he was 16 MO when we moved him.
GUISE! My friend is TTC, and asked about CDs when she came to visit today! I showed her my whole stash! And told her everything! Plus, she already knows I'm crazy, so I didn't have to worry about her thinking that. I might have another CDing friend soon!
@Mapleme is she eating other food and just not nursing? Hope she settles down soon, but if not ... A friend of mine's baby went on a couple of nursing strikes around that age. I don't know what one does to get through it, but apparently it can be a thing.
Re: Randomonium Buildup
@charmingthemoon your smash cake looks awesome!! Be sure to AW some pics for us. I can't believe our babies are almost 1 already.
