@erawka 25 ounces? That's an entire days worth of bm...holy overfeeding. I would be pissed. Are they doing paced bottle feeding? Are they trying to soothe baby in ways other than just feeding her more milk?
I fired my first dcp for overfeeding dd1 (6 ounces at one feeding; 17 ounces in 7.5 hours) among other issues.
I would def have a talk with them and make sure they know how to bottle feed a bf baby..

I read it as 25 ounces in an entire day...
Hm. I guess I read it as at daycare. So, like 8-10 hours.

Yeah, I mean, 25 in a day is cool, so I'm not sure which way to go with it.

Mine had like 40 yesterday. I do NOT use feeding as the first, second, or even third option to quiet her down. It's been like 36-40 the past week. I'm SO TIRED of old ladies (my MIL and old lady neighbor) telling me I need to feed her more!!

  • Just sitting here with the Captain of the Toot Parade. So glad it's Friday. It's been a long week without sugar. Looking forward to all the sugar tomorrow. @DreadGamerWife‌ I just saw the pic of your play gym that you posted yesterday. My aunt gave us that one. It was used by her daughter and didn't come with the box or instructions. Are the leaves on top supposed to move? Mine don't but look like they should.
@Saragoeswest  The leaves don't move.  They just look pretty.

The FFFCs, while not as good as the UOs (you're welcome), are entertaining.

Every time she cries my mom's friend says "she's hungry!"

This should go in FFFC, but my mom's friend is morbidly obese, so much so that I really worry about her health (she's an amazing woman), because she can hardly walk. I just think, every time she says that "food is not the answer to everything."

That's really mean and judgey, especially since I'm fairly certain there's something wrong with her. She seems to eat really sensibly. She lost a ton of weight years ago but gained it back. It is just heartbreaking to see.

  • @golfingdarwinfish‌ you aren't really supposed to use the bumbo until 4 months. So I really wouldn't worry.

Our pediatric physical therapist said it's fine at this age....
Maybe I'm wrong. I can't remember where I got that info from. Possibly my ass.
I got mine when I googled it and I thought that's what the actual product page said, but I could also have pulled that from my ass.

OMG talking about BF vs FF is the most boring thing ever!!!!!!!

    CIO gets that way too....
I'm bitchy, and so when people who are BF complain about talking about BF vs. FF, I think "yeah, well, it's easy for you to say, because you don't have to justify your fucking decision every time someone asks you why you are not breastfeeding. You're living the dream, doing what I wanted to do."

It's bitchy because I know no one on the board is flippantly saying it. I'm also sick of talking about it, too. I'm just a sensitive bitch.

Hopefully we fixed that, because I think we use CIO wrong on this board.

Which brings me to my question that I was thinking about in the shower today. Since I don't use the CIO method, but we decided yesterday that it's more like FIO (fuss it out), what qualifies as fussing?

Are grunts when the baby's obviously still asleep "fussing?" Do you go get your kid if they are grunting? 'Cause I don't. If her eyeballs aren't open, I let her do what she has to do, but am on alert that it could esculate to crying at some point.

It sucks that people put you in that position by questioning you. You don't owe anyone an explanation!

Honestly, I've been told by many peds and PTs that those seats are bad period, and so I never bought one - we were gifted a summer infant seat with a huge tray around it that I decided to try.  I've been told by other peds & OTs that they're great.  It becomes a he said she said he thinks she thinks my expert your expert battle, and then at the end of the day its up to the parents discretion.

I need to vent about my boss. He is so disorganized. He started in this role in last April and has been playing the new-guy-just-catching-up card way to long. In mid Octobet (after I had DS) he included me as one of 50 people on an email that said "It seems like the week of January 25 is the best time for our internal global meeting in China. Details and the attendee list have NOT been finalized, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up. More info will follow." That was the last I heard about the meeting and I assumed that either the meetin was postponed or they weren't expecting me to go. I talked to other people who were on the original email and they hadn't reeves any details either. This morning my boss IMs me and asks me if I'm going to China and do I have a visa. Umm, no. First of all, you need to give people more notice than that to travel to China. And second of all, I have 3 month old and don't you think you should ask me about travel before assuming that I am going on an 8 day trip to the other side of the world.
@SaraML13 - Not cool of your boss. That shit takes some time to get together and not something easily done last minute. Someone wasn't thinking

Depends on age. Newborn I tend to respond immediately. Now I usually respond bc I know it will escalate and I don't want to fall asleep again for two minutes before it does. But at this point I'm ok with waiting and seeing what happens.
She'll grunt for a fucking hour after her 5:30 bottle, but then go back into a deep sleep until at least 7:30. And I'll go out there and she's grunting IN HER SLEEP. So, I'm like Idunnowhattodo Idunnowhattodo Idunnowhattodo

I'll be using day care, mostly. But I know eat, more, and some other basic signs.
I'm gonna go with the sheet daycare sent home. If I remember, I can screen shot it later.
hum, yeah that would be awesome!

  • We're free lady's. We were discharged/ kicked out of jailspital a little while ago. The doctors finally came by this morning for the first time in over 24 hours and said zack sounds good and they thought he could go home. It was not a fun experience! They were super judgy. One of the Dr's tried to make me feel bad because she thinks I feed zack too much. He eats 4 oz every 2-3 hours during the day and sttn (I think it's fucking fabulous). She said that she tells her patients to only feed their babies 2-3 ounces. I almost told her that I'm sorry she is starving her patient's babies. They also pointed out he has cradle cap and acted like I was doing something wrong. I explained that he has sensitive skin and we do stuff at home to help get rid of it.

Then when we were discharged they had me sign the paperwork while I was feeding zack and before I was even done feeding him they were rushing me out the door. They literally walked us out a back door and left us on the sidewalk to wait for dh to get there. They also didn't even offer to help carry any of my stuff. Bitches!

Im glad you are out of there and that Zach is looking better. I hate it when some medical professionals are judgey and insensitive. And dont most babies have cradle cap? I get most of it off DD and it comes back in a week or so. That is messed up that they would even mention that.

Wow! Glad you escaped! Fuck that noise! DD eats the same amount.

How awful! Mine still has the cap too!
  • @PurpleHippo19‌ happy birthday!!!

@sweetadeline31‌ so sorry about your crankster. Apparently I had colic as a baby and screamed for 6 months straight and I turned out to be a delightful person (ifidosaysomyself) so hang in there and huggzzz in the meantime.

@SPurp13‌ Re: vaccines. As long as your family knows your LO's soothing preferences I think it's fine!

@MrsSinner402‌ I totally had something to say to you and forgot after catching up with 8 pages of ransoms. So...hi!!??!?

  • I am having a hormonal day, guise. I took my LO to work since my work peeps wanted to Ooo and Ahhhh. I go back on the 19th and just being there made me get all teary on the way home. I've always been so career driven and I still am, but this separation thing has me anxious and sad. I see that some of you are struggling with this too. I hope I'll be strong and happy with our situation but it seems like a rough journey.

My dog practically seizures every time the doorbell rings. So annoying!!

Right after LO was born and my Mom was staying with us, we sat around and watched a lot of tv, and there was that stupid candy commercial for Halloween where they'd ring the doorbell, and each time it came on my Mom and I were like tripping over things to get to the remote to mute it before our dog heard it.  UGH.

    First off happy birthday @PurpleHippo19‌!

I totally feel ya. Our news station has this commercial advertising their text alerts where they use an actual text sound from the iPhone. It's so ridiculous that you would actually think it's your phone. Anyways, our dog hates text noises and has gotten to the point where he starts to growl when the commercial starts! We are always scrambling to mute the tv!

@BreandMikewedding‌ WTAF, we feed dd 4 oz every 3-4 hours, too. 24-26 oz a day, typically. That's normal!

DD rolled from her belly to her back today! I was so excited I almost cried while laughing.  Crazy the little things that get you all emotional..silly but it was so fun to watch.

  • Ok there's this girl that I used to work with. When we first started working I was the director and she was a sub. At that point, she asked if I would be a reference for her. This past summer I was the director and she was one of my counselors and she showed up to work several times hung over. We didn't get along and I wouldn't consider us friends anymore. Today I got an email asking for me to fill out a survey because she put me down as a reference. What do I do? I don't want to give her a bad reference but I don't want to lie either.
    @scottysgirl77

I would probably tell her that you are unable to be a reference at this time.  If she asks why, you can either be honest or make up an excuse.  If you're no longer friends, it may be better to be honest so that she can actually take that into consideration if it's a behavior she hasn't abandoned.

  • @lrobi13, I'm still around!  I hate that the board got put on the back burner for me once little man came :(  I'm really flattered that you remember me, though - I've been gone forever (actual time - 2 months).

I read through the MOTN and Random threads once in a while.  Work has been crazy for me since I started back from ML on Dec 1.  We had family in town pretty much every week/weekend for 6 weeks.  Declan started daycare on Monday, so this week was hard but he seems to be doing very well and I like his teachers.

    Andplusalso....he's ADORABLE. (Sorry it's sideways.)

Nice to see you, lady!!!  Glad D is adjusting well to daycare!

We have the same sleeper and bib!!!  I love the little mice! :)

Hope to see you around more when things settle down!
