Old Navy has these super comfy, awesome pull on dress pants on clearance. I'm wearing a pair today and just bought another pair. They are only $14.25 today! I'm so excited.
Also bought size 18 month Batman pjs for the little guy, because cute.
NYCO has similar pull-on dress pants and I am living in them until I can MAYBE get back into actual button pants. LOVE. It's like wearing pajamas to work.
@SPurp13 honestly I am sick of the FF vs. BF debate and have no patience for it anymore so that's mostly what I meant. Idgaf how anyone feeds their kid.
Yeah, I'm sick of the debate, but I was hoping it was just someone's confession about them feeling bad about it. It didn't feel like a debate to me.
But I'm pretty tongue-in-cheek about FF. I'm over it, unless I'm having a bad day, and then I just hate everything in the world anyway.

Oh no, I think the poster's feelings were totally valid and she had every right to confess or whatever but I knew it would spark something I'm not interested in reading about AGAIN.

@SPurp13 I totally agree that shots are NBD. Let MIL take APurp, it'll be fine.
@golfingdarwinfish so, I accidentally bought sensitive formula instead of gentle because the packaging changed and I was in a rush. Anyways, I've definitely noticed a difference between sensitive and gentle, my DS is so much gassier and uncomfortable the past 2 days, so I'm quitting the can and getting some gentle today. If you want to keep on the powdered stuff, I'd give gentle a try and see if it makes a difference.
My Xbox cord is messed up so it keeps just shutting off mid show. I'm ordering a new one online, but my Netflix enjoyment will be interrupted until it gets here. And by enjoyment, I mean keeping a pack of kids entertained during nap time.
Today was the first time ever that C woke up happy! She's a generally fussy baby and ALWAYS wakes up screaming. Today she cooed for about 15 minutes until I decided to get out of bed. But then I discovered she had the biggest poopsplosion up the sides of her diaper. I think it's officially time for size 2s. But how could she be so happy sitting in a swamp of poop? Hey whatever works.
Every time someone posts about not hearing baby on the monitor, I'm jealous of their big house. I assume it must be big, or at least have soundproof walls, or something. We don't use a monitor. You can hear the baby in her room from anywhere in the house unless you're taking a shower.
Our house isn't super big, but when the door is closed to the upstairs (which it is almost always when she's up there in her room, so the cats don't get up there and eat her or whatever), I can't hear her. But, yeah, if we're on the same floor as her, for sure. A monitor isn't necessary unless I'm on the treadmill and she'd have to be screaming pretty loud for me to hear her over that and the TV. Then I prop the monitor up on the treadmill and watch/listen.
------------------
Our house is tiny, but I still use the monitor if I'm in one room and she's sleeping in another. I could totally hear her if she was fussing or crying, but I wanna see and hear everything. What if she starts choking on spit up or something? And I'll admit I still check her breathing by staring at her chest on the video monitor and confirming that its moving. I just feel more comfortable being aware as much as possible during the day. Paranoid mom here, too.
Sometimes I do, but we have an open floor plan downstairs. So if she's in the living room, I might not be able to see her while I'm doing the dishes, but I'd definitely hear her.

OMG guise.. I almost had a heart attack a little bit ago.. bagged up a bunch of milk to take downstairs to the deep freezer- got down there and the fucking freezer was OFF.. had a slight panic attack, grabbed all my milk out of the freezer and brought it up to our regular freezer.. emptied shit out of the freezer and shoved all my milk in and threw the freezer stuff out onto the deck (its 14* and theres 5" of snow out there).. called my husband to tell him, he says, "oh yeaaa, I unplugged it yesterday and forgot" umm.. I almost killed him through the phone.. thank GOD my milk was still frozen down there- it had cooled some, but there was no liquid milk anywhere.. that alone would have been almost 300oz down the drain.. literally!!! Thank goodness I went down when I did!
DS is bilingual so he is slightly behind in language skills although still in the range of normal... anyway, his way of asking who someone is is "what's that?" Need to work on that one, especially in public.

They're great. I still had a bunch from when I was heavier. Pro-tip: If you ever lose a lot of weight, be a hoarder and keep your "fat" pants. You will thank yourself if you get pregnant and need post-partum transition pants. I can't wait to pack them away, sure, but I'm glad I didn't have to buy much. I think I just bought some long-sleeved shirts and two sweaters to return to work.

I'm sick of it too and wish that I could let things go. It's just so much of a trigger for me that I normally can't keep myself from commenting.
I think people can be fucking dicks about it, but thankfully not here. People are super fucking judgey on local mom groups and in person here, though. Fuck all of them.

We don't have a big house, but we do have sheet rock walls. Plus the baby's room is down the hall and around the corner from our room. Her room is like the cone of silence as long as the door is shut. We have to keep the door shut thanks to our nosy cats.
Have you thought about a screen door? We put one up on the nursery door to keep our dogs out. It is so nice. Just a cheapo no frills screen door.
My friend also did this because her cat was abnoxious about wanting to sleep with the baby.
@PurpleHippo19 happy birthday!!

So since we brought the baby home our dog has developed this obsessive habit of licking himself until he bleeds. He has licked a chunk out of one of the pads on his paw, two sores on his back, and one on his leg. We just can't get him to stop. I don't know if it's anxiety over not being the "baby" anymore or if he's just itchy all over for some reason.

Question, how did you handle speaking to your DS do you switch back and forth or do each parent speaks a language? I only speak spanish to DD but when I am with DH I switch to english to be able to communicate with him.
I do the same; one language from each parent. It's less confusing for kids and they don't mix up the 2 languages as easily. DH doesn't speak Spanish so I need to switch to English to speak to him. However, I always address DS in Spanish.

I'm sitting on the couch and LO is asleep in my lap. I really should get up and get going with my day, but I want to keep snuggling. I feel guilty sitting here but I will feel guilty giving up the snuggles too.
@GretchenWeiners7 I'm doing the same thing, but luckily I don't have to be at work till 1 and DH gets home at 12:30 so no trip to the babysitter. I got plenty of time for snuggles.

She was wrapped in a warm cocoon...of filth.
Maybe if I give up on diapers overnight and just put her in a plastic walmart bag from the waist down, she'll sleep better and will wake up happy. :-?

Im jealous you can teach LO two languages. My nephew is speaking Mandarin and English. I call it Chenglish.
I don't cook one bit. But I was looking at them and there's a football shaped one that could maybe be a good gift for my husband. He's awful to buy for. Last Christmas I got him a Shun knife. For Christmas this year, I bought him a subscription to BlueApron.
By the way, BlueApron is AMAZING and it makes a great gift for foodies. Y'all should try it. And I don't feel like it's super expensive, either. Sure, grocery shopping is cheaper, but it's cheaper than dinner out if you eat out often.
So Bennett has a spot on his lip that split because it's so dry in the house. Apparently we need another humidifier. Is there anything I can put on his little lips to help?
Happy birthday @PurpleHippo19 !
I'm so excited! Finally at 14 weeks, my LO picked her head up during tummy time. She normally just face plants and screams, even though she has great head control. So to all of you who's babies still hate tummy time, there is hope for you!
HOORAY!
Last night I was holding APurp, and she was SO STRONG. Sure, she was crying, but she was on her belly on my chest, and she was arching her back and lifting her head way up. It turns out she just wanted to see the TV, because she's my child, and so when I sat her up, she was sitting there like a big girl. She looks like a little person!
Just sitting here with the Captain of the Toot Parade. So glad it's Friday. It's been a long week without sugar. Looking forward to all the sugar tomorrow.
@DreadGamerWife I just saw the pic of your play gym that you posted yesterday. My aunt gave us that one. It was used by her daughter and didn't come with the box or instructions. Are the leaves on top supposed to move? Mine don't but look like they should.

I was thinking how I have to exert so much more strength to move her and shift her around. She sits on my knee and looks around at all the things now. I like this stage, and how everything is hilarious to them.
I have to catch up, but after the UO yesterday I'm wondering how many people were cheering on ish when she told me off.
I know a lot of people have started putting their LO's in the bumbo seat. I put S in something similar and he just lets his head flop back. He has awesome head control on his stomach (he now just holds his head up automatically like it's nothing) and when I'm holding him, so the head flopping back really surprised me. Not sure if I should be concerned?

No, I don't think so. It probably just has to do with the ergonomics of the seat. Mine gets a little floppy with his head in the bumbo too, and he's got great head control.
