Uggh. I am getting the plague. My throat is starting to feel scratchy and my sinuses feel congested and my nose is running.
The worst part is that I'm pretty sure dd has it too. Poor thing. She woke up choking and coughing on mucous last night and she very rarely wakes up in the MOTN anymore. She even wanted to nurse.
She also scratched the heck out of her head and it bled and looks terrible. Moty here.
Last night, I had a nice dinner with all of my coworkers to celebrate the end of a really tough year for us.
I try really hard to not put my mom judgey pants on because I am a firm believer there is no one right way to parent - you have to figure out what works for both parent and baby. Anyway...
At the next table over, there was a family with 2 young kids. One was sitting in a high hair (probably around one year old) ... PLAYING WITH A STEAK KNIFE. He was waving it around in the air, banging it on the table, and CHEWING ON IT. WTAF. His mom was sitting right there just letting it continue.
I understand if she took it away a tantrum may happen...but seriously replace it with a spoon!

What the actual fuck?! That mom needs to be slapped.
DD hasnt pooped since Wednesday morning. She's never gone this long without a poop. She's eating breastmilk, how long do I go before it's a cause for concern and call the pedi?

I think it's normal for their poops to spread out a bit as they age. DS used to poop everyday but now poops maybe once every two or three days and we EBF.

I am so glad it is Friday! 1. I get Noah snuggles all weekend and 2. we are going out for Margaritas after work today. I'm much more excited than I reasonably should be.
@angeltennis3 I also try not to put on my judgy pants, but a knife is screwed up!
@MrsSinner402 My pedi told me 8 days for my ebf kiddo. That seems like a really long time so I can understand being uncomfortable. Noah has been going days between pooping lately too which isn't his norm, but he doesn't seem upset or uncomfortable so I guess he's ok.
@angeltennis3 - I would be judgey - wth is wrong with people.
I decided to say hell with it and work from home. I have no desire to go outside today. Also I think my MIL needed a break from watching baby today. Not sure how much I will actually get done but I am going to give it a good shot even though its Friday and I wanna be like...

Same here. The week before Christmas LO went 5 days without pooping. Luckily we had our two month appointment in the middle of it and the pedi didn't seem real concerned. If you really are a TINY bit of prune juice will make it flow within 24 hours. Now we poop every 2-3 days.
Apparently, somewhere in the 2-3 month range you loose all traces of colostrum from your milk. Colostrum is a natural laxative, which is why they poop everyday then change to every few days. So I have been told anyways..
Silly me. I thought doctors were in charge of their patients' medical treatment. Nope! It's the nurses and every other hospital worker. Yesterday the dr said we could try a breathing treatment but the respiratory therapist said no. I'm not sure why we are here if they aren't going to do anything to help get him better.
My Dr sent us in because zack's oxygen levels were too low and she was concerned about when he's sleeping at home since breathing slows at night. They disconnected the monitor while he was sleeping the first night and only monitored his oxygen level every few hours yesterday. The nurse came in for vitals this morning and apparently took the oxygen monitor completely off.
First day that I didn't cry in the day care while dropping C off. Sobbed a bit in the car, but progress at least.
DH picked C up at day care yesterday and confessed that for a few seconds, he wasn't sure which baby was his as they had them in the bouncers. He finally figured it out - much to the amusement of her caretaker.

While I was on maternity leave, my boss had heart issues and had to leave the work Christmas party in an ambulance. He ended up getting a pacemaker. He had a quadruple bypass about 5 years ago.
Yesterday he didn't come in because he woke up and couldn't walk. Something was wrong with his legs. If you all can remember, throw some T&Ps his way. He's the best boss I've ever had and is just a great person overall. I really don't have a single complaint and I've learned so much from him in the past year.
Dh needs a serious TP. I was seriously considering @Syllessa services because with him gone, I'd have the same amount of help in the morning trying to get out the door by 6:30am. Oh and I got maybe 3 hrs of sleep and no time to make/get coffee. Dh got 6hrs and plenty of time to get coffee. He knows I'm pissed because he tried to send me cute pics of DD at daycare with quotes "from her". No. You're all pissy cuz your routine in the morning changed a little? We need a come to Jesus meeting tonight or I will lose it.
5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs. My rainbow arrived 10/15/14. TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.

We are FF but also went the prune juice route and it helped the same day. My pedi said you can give as much as half an ounce throughout the course of the day, but to do it in small amounts to give the previous dose time to work.

Every school district in the county is closed today-- except my husband's district... I ain't even mad, bro! up pumping now to make bottles for my sweets while im at work sunday!

We leave on vacation tomorrow morning. DH doesn't seem to understand why I might be stressed out. He's never packed for three kids ( or even one kid) plus entertainment for on the airplane and making sure the house is somewhat in order for SIL to house/pet sit.
I think I am getting a cold. DH's company Christmas party is tomorrow night and I'm hoping I don't feel like complete shit by then. It's also the first time I will be leaving LO with someone other than DH and I'm so nervous. A great friend of mine will be watching him and intrust Her completely but I'm afraid he will cry all night and she will hate me or something.
Old Navy has these super comfy, awesome pull on dress pants on clearance. I'm wearing a pair today and just bought another pair. They are only $14.25 today! I'm so excited.
Also bought size 18 month Batman pjs for the little guy, because cute.
@sweetadeline31 As you very well know I also have a crab. She got better around 12 weeks. Then got worse again for a couple weeks. Now she's good again. I think my point is she has good days and bad days, I don't really think in coincides with anything. ((hugs)) I know how you feel!
So I've got the rockin lullabies CD and it's all JT songs. Finn was grumpy on the way to daycare this morning because I woke her up and well...she's a crab. So I put that shit on and she LOVED IT! Bitches love JT.
My best friend is driving 3.5 hours up with her daughter to stay with me and the crab this weekend. I am SO EXCITED! We've been friends since high school and we did everything together. Her daughter is 5 and she's so adorable. She thinks my husband is cute so she's always showing off for him. Hilarious!
MOTY: I was on the treadmill and I heard APurp start making noise. I proceeded to watch her Houdini both arms out of the swaddle while running. She wasn't crying or anything, and she seemed to enjoy this process. So, I just let her go. I stopped at 3 miles, which, coincidentally, was when she was completely out of her cocoon. She was all "Look what I did, mom?"
Husband clearly did not swaddle her tight enough.
In other news, I totally have to start getting up at 5:30. I got up at 6:15 and did not have enough time. I was early for work and everything, but I want to run longer than 3 miles. Oh well. This week was an "easing back in" week.
Andplusalso, my husband's cousin called into work late just so he could spend time with APurp (his wife watches her two days a week). I've never seen a man so in love with babies. He never puts her down when he's home while his wife is watching her. I think he's going to steal my baby, and my husband wants to put a tracking device on her.
It was cold, and I was like "here, take my baby, byeeeeeee." I didn't even tell them when I fed her. I had to text when I got to work. FAIL. He was also "how's the first week back," and I feel as though I should pretend to be more sad than I am, but I was like "I love being back!" I thrive on schedules and I like my mom. I wish I wasn't away from her AS LONG as I am, but I am happy to be back to work.

Up to a week is completely normal. I wouldn't do anything unless she seems uncomfortable from it. Then maybe I'd try the thermometer trick.
Thanks! :-S lets hope we dont have to take that route!
I am so burned out. DD has been having epic meltdowns over the last three days and it's really wearing on me. I've used the baby got colic video about 5 times a day to console her. My legs are sore from bouncing her for hours on end. She's 11 weeks now. Did any of you experience a spike in fussiness around this time? It's so draining (
@Sweetadeline31 - yes DD was like this around this time. We bought some Mother's Bliss gripe water and it really seemed to do the trick. I would give her some of the gripe water like 1ml and within 5-10 minutes she would finally fall asleep. that was a rough week. It is all natural and doesn't make babies sleepy or anything but helps calms colic type symptoms associated with gas or teething. DD will be 13 weeks this Sunday and there has been a lot of improvement over the last week or so. I think it may have been a growth spurt. I hope this passes for you soon!
@SPurp13 honestly I am sick of the FF vs. BF debate and have no patience for it anymore so that's mostly what I meant. Idgaf how anyone feeds their kid.

So, when we went for APurp's 2-month shots, they were out of the Prevnar. I have been calling back since (so for at least 3 weeks) and they finally have it now. The only day they have available is next Thursday, and MIL will be watching her. I also have a therapist appointment that day.
Am I an awful person if I am considering just having my MIL take her for the shot? And not going? She did really well with the last one. She didn't even cry at the poke. I can move my therapist appointment, I'm sure. I don't know. If it were a full on doctor's appointment, I'd go and meet MIL with APurp and go in, but it's just a poke.
My husband might work from home and take her. That makes me feel slightly better. But. I feel like as her mother I am delinquent if I don't take her, since so many people are like "THE SHOTS OMG." I felt like the shots were no big deal, and whatever? I think I don't have a soul.
Every time someone posts about not hearing baby on the monitor, I'm jealous of their big house. I assume it must be big, or at least have soundproof walls, or something. We don't use a monitor. You can hear the baby in her room from anywhere in the house unless you're taking a shower.
Our house isn't super big, but when the door is closed to the upstairs (which it is almost always when she's up there in her room, so the cats don't get up there and eat her or whatever), I can't hear her. But, yeah, if we're on the same floor as her, for sure. A monitor isn't necessary unless I'm on the treadmill and she'd have to be screaming pretty loud for me to hear her over that and the TV. Then I prop the monitor up on the treadmill and watch/listen.

Our house is tiny, but I still use the monitor if I'm in one room and she's sleeping in another. I could totally hear her if she was fussing or crying, but I wanna see and hear everything. What if she starts choking on spit up or something? And I'll admit I still check her breathing by staring at her chest on the video monitor and confirming that its moving. I just feel more comfortable being aware as much as possible during the day. Paranoid mom here, too.
@bazingabee my friend bought it for DD i think it's on amazon. This morning I was like "cry me a river" to baby music. Lol The series is called "rockin lullabies" they have a bunch of different ones. GL!
