This is the first week I haven't woken up drenched in sweat (just a little milk). I had forgotten what it feels like to have more control over my sweat glands!
This drenched in sweat crap has to stop. I only have one nursing bra that fits right now, and I have to wear it at night. Yuck.
Also, I really hate pumping. I didn't think I would hate it this much, but I'm not looking forward to needing to pump at work, and I'm not even going back for another 12 weeks.
Pumping at work wasn't too bad for me. I pump once a day at home right now to try and get a supply built up and I hate it.
My 2 year old got a hold of my pump the other day and pulled up his shirt to pump himself then walked around the house telling DH he pumped. It was hilarious and adorable.

I woke up at 3:30am to uncontrollable shivering the other night- felt like I was having back labour again cuz my muscles were so jacked up! Had to take a hot shower to get some semblance of warmth back into my body, then woke up a couple hours later absolutely soaked in sweat!! And last night I couldn't get warm in bed for the life of me... I miss the heat an inside baby provides!
Don't know if this goes here, but LO's new trick while breastfeeding is to stretch her head back while eating but not letting go of the nipple. My nipple isn't supposed to stretch that far out. It's not go-go-gadget boobie.
Yes! And it's ALWAYS my left boob. I feel really bad shouting "No, no nononono!" at my baby but it hurts!
Ahh the ugly cry. I do this daily. Is he back to work @katylou91?
I'm trying to decide how to shower today. (First day home alone) I cannot carry this swing from room to room all day.
By the time I'm out of the shower she is perfectly fine. I can hear her making noises when I first walk away, but there's no crying. She just hangs in the living room. I recommend brushing your hair before you leave the bathroom. If I don't it usually dries in a snarly mess because she'll get hungry once I'm out, even if I feed her right before I go in.
Today is my first day home alone. I'm not brave enough to shower or give the baby a bath on my own yet. He has his two week check up this afternoon, so my husband will be home early to take us. I'm glad I'm getting a partial day today at least.
I promise you it isn't as bad as you think! It actually made me feel kind of amazing. Like, I was a super woman just because I took a shower when we were home alone. It was the fastest shower of my life and I ran out and picked her up in my towel and she just looked up at me and I swear her eyes were saying "I'm fine, mom, calm down" I laughed and held her in my towel anyways until she fell back asleep.
The nurse in the hospital told me to shower everyday. I looked at her like she was crazy, but all she said was that LO will be fine. Now, it's golden wisdom. I struggle to leave him and shower, but mama gets stinky too!
And this ladies is how you do your hair and makeup during the witching hours.
I swear this kid will not let me put him down and nobody else can hold him. I love being needed and I love the cuddles but Damn, kid. I need some mommy space!
My DH has let me go to bed at 10:30 (after I fed the LO) and then he stayed up with a bottle for the next feeding. It means I've had 2 nights of sleeping 6 - 6.5 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Amazing! Unfortunately, the LO screamed from 10:30pm-1:30am other than when eating last night, so I'm pretty sure DH wont be staying up tonight.
Today is my first day home alone too, but, for serious, it's way easier with the second baby (when the first is at daycare!).
We ran errands this morning! (I needed to get my full on pregnancy hormone mustache waxed and to pick up my new lap top from work so that I can work from home on some projects.) With my first, I think I maybe did a couple loads of laundry and that was it until she was over a month old.
Has anyone else's kid been a cranky mess all day? I swear it's the full moon.
We have the k'tan and that shit is IMPOSSIBLE to use alone until LO has his head under control.
My MIL leaves tomorrow after a two week stay and it's like a SECOND CHRISTMAS! All she has done is complain about how the baby cries too much, eats too much, poops too much, we hold him too much, our salt is too "salty", our toothpicks are too thin, she is bored, we don't celebrate the New Year properly, my kid has dark circles under his eyes (he doesn't), his clothes are too small (they aren't), we use too much olive oil, our shower handle is too difficult to use (it's not), everything is too spicy...etc. talk about someone deserving a throat punch.
My LO loooooves the Moby. He'll doze and stay calm for three hours at a time in it, way longer than just being carried. If you place him right in the newborn hug hold you can pull the wrap up behind his head to support it.
Took a few tries to get the tying down - definitely a good idea to tie it at home before you leave the house if you know you'll be wearing it, saves hassle.
D14 November, because I am finally not on mobile, how I feel in 3rd tri:
Dd is finally liking her swing. I thought we were going to have to return the thing. I get touched out if I wear her all day so I like to be able to put her down for some of the day.
Its 2:30am I'm wide awake and have my induction in 4.5hrs... I need to sleep.. I feel so tired except I can't relax enough to fall back asleep. Baby K is finally going to be here very soon. I'm excited but also have been thinking all day holy shit I'm going to have an infant to take care of again and I haven't done that in almost 3 years.

@leoandethansmom@rshamos thanks ladies! Still wide awake and will probably be bumping all day as I lay in the hospital depending on how quickly it goes!
Using my moby wrap for the first time today. Why did I wait so long? This thing is amazing! Lo is peacefully snoring as I actually get some stuff done.
There's some talk about DTD in the TMI thread. Is it still painful or dry or whatever even if you have a c-section? Not that I'm planning to try anytime soon, since LO is only two weeks old today. I'm just curious, since my vag didn't get abused during childbirth.
My OB said that the dryness and inelasticity of the vagina postpartum was hormonal - her exact words were "breastfeeding will make you like an 80 year old down there."

Yep. My MW told me BFing does the same thing to your vagina as menopause does. She gave me some estrogen cream used for post-menopause for me to put on until 6 wks PP to promote elasticity while it's healing.
My husband said do you know what a week and a half is? I thought about it and remembered we went on our first date in jan 18 many moons ago so I guessed that. NOPE- that is when I will be 6w pp and he's so excited to DTD. After reading these posts I am SO not excited.
Anyone else's newborn try and nurse on their face when you give them kisses? Mine tries to nurse on my nose. It's so cute!
On my Christmas card this year is a picture of me and DH kissing DS' cheeks but my side looks like I kissed him really hard. I didn't though. Right when the photographer took the photo DS decided was a good time to try and nurse on my face haha.
