@Emerald27 thanks for the book recommendation. I'll have to give it a look. As for skills, I think he is. In the last few days I've noticed he's started grabbing and reaching for things and he really pays more attention to toys than he did even two days ago. Plus three month growth spurt maybe? Unfortunately he doesn't go back down easily because he hates sleeping on his back so it's nurse, rock, rock, rock, pray he stays asleep. He'll sleep in the swing but he's getting too big for it so I want to nip that in the bud asap.

@windwithfingers I feel your pain completely, although my LO is a bit younger. It's such a mindfuck when you are doing everything that you are "supposed" to do and still end up with a terrible sleeper. It makes me cry angry tears sometimes. It's so very hard. I've consulted with two pedi's about it and they both have said, "eh, some babies just aren't good sleepers and you have one of them." Awesome.
@golfingdarwinfish I was catching up on randoms in the wee small hours of
the morning and saw your mobile. I love it! I've been looking all over for one with black and white images. Can I ask where you bought it?
Big hugs and well wishes to all of you amazing ladies going back to work today. I'll be joining you next week. Deep breaths. There's a wild rumor that it gets easier, so let's all cross our fingers and hope for the best!
5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs. My rainbow arrived 10/15/14. TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.
@sweetadeline31 our pedi said pretty much the same. Swaddling, white noise, it all does nothing. He wakes up no matter what I do. Unless he's in the swing, which he's almost too big for and is a habit I don't want to have to break later. I cried this morning for the first time since he was like 6 weeks old. It sucks. Nice knowing I'm not the only one though.

Could be either or both. Milestones tend to disrupt sleep just as much as if not even more than growth spurts. FX that he gets through this and sleeps better for you fast!
The other day I was concerned about S's (perceived) decrease in swatting - well, the last few days he has been grabbing toys on his mat like crazy. It may just be by chance that his hands grab them, but he's holding on now and manipulating when they're in his hand!!
I love this pic of him trying to get a ring in his mouth while he looks at the bottom of a flower - the patterns on the bottom of the flower are his favorite!

@golfingdarwinfish that's great! I know we talked about DD the other day and she's still not showing much interest. But this morning I held one of the toys out to her while she was laying on her playmat and she slowly reached up and hit it with the back of her hand. Progress!
Successfully made it to day care, turned over C to the infant room and made it to work. Cried the entire time, but I am here and somewhat productive. And I can pee in peace. There is that bonus.
It is interesting to see everyone's siggy now that I am on a computer (and not on an iPad as I am at home).

@bazingabee Nothing more irritating than a momma's boy that doesn't back up his wife's decisions. Hopefully he listens to his wife otherwise skip the TP and go straight to penis punch. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200!
One more thing.... Anyone else ready for this tonight?
Hell to the yeah! Those dimples be dreamy and bitches be crazy. Can't wait.
I am excited, although I hope the girls bring the drama because Chris seems pretty low key.
One of the girls on the show is actually someone I graduated high school with this season. I THINK I remember her (I graduated with about 1,000 people)...but not 100% sure. I kind of hope she is BSC!
I'm feeling really good about our daycare. DH said when he dropped her off, they were all really excited that she was there. He said everyone crowded around him to get a look at her and she was really happy when he left. I'm pretty sure she's going to be awesome. I honestly feel a million times better than when grandma had her all day. I know that sounds horrible but it just wasn't a good situation for our relationship with her.
It is still so crazy to watch DS learn practically overnight. Like @MrsSinner402, I posted recently that DS didn't even look at toys, let alone bat or grab. But over the last two days, he's started looking and grabbing!
Me: 30 | DH: 4/12/85 - 6/16/14 | Quinn Patrick born 9/28/14
@MrsTinMKE That is very sweet of you to say. I am lucky to have a lot of people (DH, my parents, my sister, supportive coworkers, and a great nanny) to help me keep my shit together. Although I am seriously considering hiring a housekeeper to complete my team!
@Crawford411 - Have you asked your Nanny if she will help with any household chores? Maybe you could work that in for a little extra change? This was one of the reasons we opted to hire our nanny to help out with some of this stuff since she will be at our house all day.
@theresat858 I'm anti-CIO too. I can't let him cry for longer than a few minutes. But in the middle of the night, when he wakes up for the fifth time after sleeping for 30 minutes, I get why people do it. I keep reminding myself that babies wake up and it won't last forever.

DD stopped grabbing at things and has recently started squealing. She just lays there and babbles to herself, a lot. I can't get her to roll over or open her hands much but she's really into talking. Yup, she's her dad's daughter!
@sabby2 sounds like where I live. -22 windchill and possibly 6 inches snow tonight. Of course no snow all winter then this shit the day I go back to work!

When they learn something new or advance a skill they tend to abandon others, so that could be the sudden decrease in grabbing. It always freaks me out when everything else decreases so the new skill can shine. Squeals are sooooooooooo cute!! :x

So I should ask you for help when I need it, but when I ask for help I should just figure it out myself otherwise I'll never learn? Yeah that makes sense!
So now that I changed my avatar I'm having a difficult time realizing if I love titted something or not because i'm still looking for my other pic at the bottom of each post. I keep love titting, unloving, and then relovetitting.

I have to aw my thoughtful boss. He sent me a box of things for S (and a bunch of corporate branded apparel that apparently was left for me by colleagues), including these - all organic and hand block printed/painted. He kicks ass.

Love it! Esp that airplane outfit. Is it available to the public? ;-)
So I'm the mom that just called daycare to check on my peanut on his first day. He apparently is napping better for them than he does for me ... it's magic!

@bazingabee my mom keeps telling me to do the rice cereal in the bottle too. I just tell her that like anything else in the world, more research happens over time and things change. Just because something was (or wasn't) ok when I was a baby doesn't mean there isn't research out there now that contradicts old practices. And just because nothing bad happened then doesn't mean it can't now.
