How important is it to be registered at the hospital you plan on giving birth? Help! :c pleaseeee!!!

I try to get myself around it and actually go register (really I take lots of naps , pregnancy can be very exhausting) , anyway I end up running out of time not to mention hubby is always working which makes it a lot harder! So I was wondering if any of you lady's is still not registered or has ever given birth without being registered , thanks!

If you go and you aren't pre-registered you will have a crap ton of paperwork to fill out before they do anything for you. This could stall labor. It will be annoying and is unnecessary. Go do it, pregnant or not you have responsibilities. Wth?

I could do it on-line... or my OB gave me the forms to fill out and I could mail in. Both significantly easier and more lazy then actually going there.

While pregnancy can be exhausting, that's no excuse. The women on here work, have other kids, go to school, and all have lives. Hell, I spend my days chasing around a 3 yr old, 1.5 yr old, and a new puppy. Yet, guess what? I managed to register. So if you are sleepy or your husbands working and you go into labor are you just going to put that off too? Most places you can register online. Look it up. Andplusalso, I really hope you aren't like this once the baby is born, because trust me, having a newborn can be very exhausting.

At my hospital, it can be done online and it takes all of 10 minutes at most. It will seem pretty important if you arrive, in active labor, and are having questions and paperwork thrown your way instead of drugs.

My OB gave me a packet with registration stuff. There were like 4 forms to fill out & mail in not that bad.

If you are looking for validation- I haven't pre-registered yet either. But with that being said I plan to because it's important to me that it's done.

So if you feel it is important then I would recommend making the time to do it. Otherwise you're the only one who will be suffering the consequence if it isn't done by the time your baby arrives.

If registering at the hospital is being held back by frequent naps and your hubby working, I can't imagine what other much more time consuming tasks aren't getting done. Seriously??

I take naps. And my hubby works. And I work. And go to school. And I bought a new home 2 months ago...but you sound super special and way more busy.

I've had the paperwork filled out since 6 weeks, but no one has asked for it yet. I noticed some registration information will be handled during the hospital tour (a few weeks away), so I'll bring it with me then. But it's still ready to go if, God forbid, she decides to come early.

I even have the paperwork ready for her birth certificate, which includes special paperwork for the baby daddy (been together for 11 years and just because we haven't walked down the aisle, I have to file proof of paternity. Thanks for making me feel like trash, Pennsylvania!).

Did any STMs still have a shitton of paper to fill out when they arrived in labor, even after preregistration?? I distinctly remember trying not to freak out on the nurse that was telling me my husband couldn't fill shit out while I was trying not to puke everywhere.

Not that remember.......I did sign a few things but no lengthy paperwork. Get a medical power of attorney and he can sign everything for you.

Yeah I signed a few things but it was mainly signing off on stuff I didn't want or things I was agreeing to have. Nothing else administrative.

I'm thinking there's a good chance my brain is exaggerating the amout of paperwork...

Hey I'm still not registered either. I keep telling myself I need to. I did not register for my first child and it was fine just a lot to fill out when we got there but with our second I did so much easier so if you can do it go for it but don't stress if you never make it there too:)

I was able to do it online as well as through my OBs office but i love in a rural area and unless you really want to travel there is only one choice for a hospital. Check with your office

To those who have been very helpful thank you , I appreciate the nice replies. I thought that's what this sight was for . So when I posted this I wasn't worried about the replies at all but now I can truly see how nasty some people can be , did I ever say I don't do anything ? No. Being pregnant I consider a challenge if you don't wake up with morning sickness , get horrid headaches and swollen feet every day than good for you. Me on the other hand it is my first pregnancy and I feel exahusted which is only normal. I still wake up cook breakfast for my hubby make him lunch and keep the house clean I do as much as I can and still manage to get through the day which I think I do a pretty damn good job at. Now I didn't post this for anyone to judge me . Apperantly I'm horrible because I haven't pre registered ? Uh no I don't think so. And for the one who said something about stupid questions ? Really . At least I asked its nice to know what others think when they aren't total fucks. Now with all this said I understand it is important and I should get to it that's all I needed as a reply not your nasty comments which say a lot about yourselves . Thanks
