We have a girl name SET! But are at a loss for a boy's name.
This is us, only opposite. We have had the boy's name set since almost the BFP, but girl's names are proving difficult.
Unfortunately, this lead to a recent family dinner with the entire two hour conversation consisting of girl's names being thrown out by my family. Mostly serious, but then they starting throwing out crazy names too.
We've got 4 names & will decide when we meet the babes. I'm trying to get it down to 2 names tho so we only need to decide which boy is which. Boy names are so hard! Here's our contenders (feel free to let know ur faves!): Ethan James & Luke Ryan Ethan James & Jack Ryan Gabriel James & Lucas Ryan (Gabe & Luke)

As soon as we found out we were expecting a girl suggested names flooded in!!! HATED every single one & they were all names my fil suggested from his side of the family! We went w/ Ella, for my Nana Marcella
@MissEm15 Stay away from Jack Ryan (famous character from books/movies). I quite like Gabriel James and Lucas Ryan though!
We've been decided for a while now -- we finalized right before Thanksgiving, which started a month or two when we saw a lot of family and our close friends, so we've told all of them, but haven't made it fully public.
But Zoe, my three-year-old, knows and we're trying to drill the name into her mind. So anyone that she might tell would know too!
I have to say, it wasn't a name that I was INSTANTLY in love with like with my first daughter, but it has grown on me, and it's such a relief to have it settled!
So, joining our Zoe Natalia will be her new sister, Kira Noelle.

We've got a short list of three and have agreed on a top choice and jokingly told our parents while also letting them know that it's not set in stone. I'm the one who's more on the side of "have a couple choices with a favorite and wait and see" than DH, but we're having fun.
Picked and ready to go minus the monograms. However, I have been second guessing myself a bit so I still look from time to time but I think we are settled.
We are team green light have a boy and girl name picked. Our middle names are set in stone, but we will leave ourselves room to change our minds on first names until after we meet the baby.
We have been very public with the names (and have had a positive experience), but did warn people that we may change our minds. We have to couple back up names ready.
We're having a boy and I really love the name Benjamin. My husband likes it, but it's his brother's middle name and he thinks It's weird and we can't use it unless we say he's named after his brother. I totally disagree and think if we both like it, we should just go with it. Who is right - him or me?
What about Benedict? You could still get Ben from that.
To answer your question if it was BIL's first name then yeah, you named the kid after him. But it's a mn so really just a family name.
BFP #1: It's a GIRL! DD born October, 2012 BFP #2: m/c at 7w, February, 2014 BFP #3: It's a BOY! Please be our rainbow! Due February, 2015 *everyone always welcome*
We've had it picked out since before the BFP but I'm not about crazy amounts of monograming (sp??). He has a "J" for his bedroom door but that's all he's getting out of me lol

Obviously I've been sharing the name for months with everyone. The pregnancy was enough of a surprise I didn't feel the need to keep it close and if anything, for me sharing it openly given the situation and being so far from family and friends seems to have helped a lot of people celebrate along with me which was definitely something I worried about.
Going from most people in my world not even really knowing FI that well to "oh look here is a baby.. It's a boy.. His name is Elliott Charles" seemed weirder to me than inviting people along with us. I also know it helped ground me to think of him by name once we decided
We've had our name picked out forever but I made the mistake of getting one thing monogrammed and realized that her initials in that order don't spell a very nice word.
In the future, I will not be monogramming anything for her
I have a list. DH has a list. There's pretty much no overlap. We need to come up with more name ideas or start liking each other's choices more We've been busy with the holidays so we haven't really been thinking much about names. It's time to get started again!

I'm with you, but I understand the struggle. MH is the same way. He's anti-naming after someone. (Even if that's not the intention.) Eventually, I got frustrated and pointed out that chances are one of us will know someone by any name we choose and if we love a name, we should choose it for that reason.
I'm having the same problem. DH can't seem to get over name associations. We both like Matthew, but he's dragging his feet bc my LITTLE BROTHER'S BEST FRIEND is named Matthew and his last name is actually the same as ours (just spelled w an extra E). We see this kid a couple times a year at most and only bc my brother still lives w my parents. Not a good enough reason for me to throw out one of the only baby boy names we agree on! Ahhhhhh!
We picked out Oliver for DS2's name, but for the life of us can NOT figure out a middle name! Grrr! No monograms anywhere for us, but I did buy a personalized Christmas wall decor with all our names on it. Its so cute! I just had to remember to flip the baby's name over so people wouldn't see it when they came over. We're announcing his name when he's born, just like DS1.

My name was supposed to be completely different and when I was born my dad begged my mum for the name I was given. Worst case scenario, maybe you'll just know it once you meet your punkin like my dad did

We don't have a name for sweetpea. We are jewish so boys get named at the Bris (circumcision ceremony on the 8th day of life) and girls get named when the father is called up to the Torah (generally the sabbath following her birth). Names are not publicly announced prior to the naming.
DH and I both have lists of potential names but, as yet, nothing is really sticking out as the right one. It's traditional to name in honor of deceased relatives, righteous jews from history, or jews mentioned in the torah. Some people also name using the hebrew words for geography, weather, or natural events.
Idk. I feel a little stuck and it makes it harder that it's traditional NOT to discuss (thus, I don't seek input on TB).
We have a middle name set in stone and short list of first names. Why is it so hard? DS didn't have a name until the day after he was born. It looks like this may be the case again.

We have the first name picked out "Eli" but we don't know what the middle name will be yet. I'm leaning towards "Asher" but I don't think my DH likes it very much.
Since we are team green, we need two names. Girls name is set but we are still tossing around boys names so we may end up turning away the clerk lol. Hoping baby is a girl so we don't have to make another decision at this point.

Names set! After a long debate. Monogramming not my style but we did get a few gifts.
We've also got DD on board with the name. Though she keeps insisting her next sister will be Nina...don't know where she got that as this baby is definably our last

Name picked out but no monograms. DS shares my dad's first name and his bio dad's father's middle name. DD and i share a middle name. So for LO DH and I decided if LO was a boy they would share the same initials CJ but not names because my mom's side of the family does not need another Charlie. Alas LO is a girl and DH and her will share a middle name. His family is wierd and named him after a grandmother so poor DH is stuck with Jewel as a middle name but just goes by the letter J.
