  • I am most worried about my water breaking and being home alone and my mom being on the other side of Houston and DH being at work and in a meeting. Worst case scenario I know I can just call an ambulance but they will prob take me to the closest hospital to us which I hate.

  • My only worry is going early.  Not likely, seeing as my other two were late (1 week and 1.5 weeks, respectively).  I just really, really need to make my hours at work to qualify for mat leave.

I don't have BH (I've actually never had BH with any of my pregnancies - weird, right?).  I don't have heartburn this time around.  I don't have to pee every two seconds, although it's uncomfortable to be punched in the bladder.  My insomnia is stress-related and not baby-related, and I'm actually finding that I don't have to heave myself around in bed the same way I had to with my other two.

Also, from experience I've never dilated prior to labour (always gone in closed at the beginning of labour), and my water doesn't break until I'm actively pushing....

I feel like I have the weirdest pregnancy ever.  All along I've called this my "I Didn't Know I was Pregnant" pregnancy.  Other than the giant stomach and random movements, I'd never know I was pregnant.

So really, the only worry is for this baby to come before February 20th (the day after my due date).  I have some overtime stocked up, but not enough if baby decides to come early.  :)

  • My vote was something else since my greatest 3T fear is going into labor and not having family around to watch Henry so DH can go to the hospital with me. Depending on the day of the week the closest family is anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 hrs away.

  • I voted my water breaking only bc I'm nervous about it happening at work. I'm surprisingly not nervous about any of the other things (I know they have to happen, so why worry?). However, I'm sure when the time comes then I'll freak out in the moment.
  • I'm afraid that I may have trouble pushing this time. The hip/groin pain has caused problems with being able to lift my left leg at times. I would prefer to go as long as possible without the epi but I have a serious fear that I may need it to be able to push. I'm also worried about the nurse holding my leg. Last time she did a terrible job and I sprained my ankle pushing.

  • You all just made me realize I have no idea what happens if I go into labor at work. Do I call DH and wait at work for him to come get me? Do I have a coworker take me to the hospital, or just have them take me home if my contractions are still far apart? I have no clue...

Depending on how far it is, I would probably call DH and have him come pick me up.

I'm worried I'll go too early. We still don't have nursery done, or even started for that matter. Furniture is getting ordered this week... Blame DH for his procrastination. I have maternity pics scheduled for the 29th- I'll be 36 weeks. I pre-paid for them, so I hope I don't pop before then. I had some done already, in late October, but they were more of family for Christmas cards..... That I never sent.

I already pee 4-5 times at night. I already have insomnia. I've just embraced that.

I'd toss in I'm a little nervous about my water breaking at some completely inopportune time. But I'm on modified bed rest.... So I shouldn't be complaining about where it happens.

Oh. And a c-section. Scared of that too. (Related to baby too big thread where I rambled about being worried about size of baby)

  • Honestly it would be having to deliver the baby myself. My first baby was delivered in thirty mins and all but the first two contractions were pushing. Once it hit I couldn't have even called for an ambulance.

So yeah, not looking forward to that part.

  • This sounds really stupid, but I'm afraid of no one being around to take DD while I go to the hospital.
  • I'm nervous to go early, especially while we are still out of the country. And I'm nervous to have my friend stay with Ella if in fact we do go early and family is not in town yet. I have made all the preparations, I just hope she does ok.

  • Heartburn has been the biggest pain in the ass of everything listed.

Honestly my only "worry" is that I won't go into labor within the 37-42 week window that is required to birth at the birthing center.  I would hate to have to go to the hospital since I've avoided it for 29 years!

  • Oh yeah... one more legit fear.  I am terrified that I'm going to have the baby either in my house or at the side of the road.  Amanda came in less than an hour after contractions became painful.  My midwife lives 15 minutes away, and the hospital is another 25 min.  Her policy is to come check on me at my house once labour starts, then approve a move to the hospital.

I think that because she knows I labour so quickly, she'll let me go to the hospital right away without being checked... but I am still terrified of a side of the road baby.

Although that might be fitting for two Hwys Dept Engineers....

  • Spechul snoflayke over here. She was breech at my growth ultrasound – I have another in two weeks to see if she's flipped. It's not that I want to be Super Vaginal Birth Mom. But the idea of going under a knife freaks me out. I haven't been admitted to a hospital since I was three and I've never even had a broken bone. I'll live either way, but the idea of surgery in general makes me antsy.

This freaks me out too. I have no problem with a c section but I've never ever had surgery (still have my wisdom teeth and everything) so it kind of scares me.
  • High blood pressure!
  • Man, I worry about a lot. Pathetic, party of me.
  • @thegoodpotato you and I are pregnancy twins.  Not particular eventful pregnancy, fairly quick labor, water broke when I hit 10cm, and born one day after her due date!

I am also terrified of giving birth on the side of the road, when I got to the birth center last time I was 9.5 cm dilated and it is a 45 minutes drive from our house.

  • I'm with @misshart00‌ . I'm afraid I won't know I'm in labor or having real contractions and won't get help in enough time.
  • I'm scared of not knowing real contractions.

With DD I was worried about this, too. It is frustrating to be told over and over that you'll know when you know but it's true. It is like trying to explain how the big drop on the roller coaster feels vs. the little ones.

Yeah I don't really want my neighbors to stay with L if I go suddenly at any point but my hospital is a good 25 min from here and I'm not having this kid in the car ;)

  • I have been experiencing pain...like a level 6-7 pain...for days/weeks. The baby is very floaty and high up under my ribs. It literally feels like a knife through the front right ribs all the way through the back. I even asked the doctor to check to see if she could see the knife yesterday. ;) Tylenol doesn't touch it. When I have a braxton hicks contraction and the baby happens to have a foot/knee/leg up by my ribs, the pain is crazy. So my biggest fear is to have this pain continue for the next 5-6 weeks. :(

Haha, this is so true.  My first doctor, when I expressed this fear to him, goes, "well, it's not subtle."

That has stuck with me through all my pregnancies.  Labour definitely isn't subtle, even when it's in the early stages and isn't painful.  You will know.  Not helpful, but it's true.  :)

But I've been through it before! I should know this. Lol. I'm just hoping I'll go into labor the same way I did with DD, with my water breaking. It was very obvious and easy (though H told me my water broke and I didn't believe him until we got to the hospital).

  • I'm concerned about waking up one morning covered in stretch marks. I had DD at 36 weeks so I managed with only one or two from that pregnancy. I've been slathering my skin in oil to keep it hydrated. I am prone to them so I know it's a time game at this point.

  • I had to vote SS because my biggest worry now is really related to labor and delivery and the baby being born safely. Its all completely out of my hands and I have great doctors so Im not letting it get to me too much but its still in the back of my head. But Im also a FTM so the unknown is a little scary.

I think this is in the back of everyone's mind just a little.  Even though I've had three really healthy and uncomplicated pregnancies, I still get a little worried when baby hasn't moved much.  And worse, this is a quiet baby that doesn't move much aside from about half an hour at night.  :|

My mom lost her first baby at a late gestation (38 weeks), so even in my ultra-rational brain, I still fear this despite no indication that anything should go anything but normally.  :/

  • My water broke on its own with DD but I was off work for the summer so it was no big deal. I'm worried it's going to happen again but at work in front of my students.

Another worry is that if this baby comes early I won't have enough days to qualify for FMLA.
