New mom with a baby fast asleep in the Moby-ask away!

Re: New mom with a baby fast asleep in the Moby-ask away!

  • Is it easy to do things with the baby in the moby?  I can't wait to use mine.

YEp! I was on the fence about getting one and am so glad I did. It's the only things that soothes her when she is fussy and I have already loaded my dishwasher and done a load of laundry this am:-)
  • Did you have help the first weeks after you brought baby home?

  • Do you think that other immitation brands work as well?  I bought one for $20 at BRU and it seems super stretchy.  I'm afraid LO will fall out.  Is yours more firm or more stretchy. (LOL....the Moby, that is!!!)

  • Did you get a beebee pod/bumbo seat? Like it? (not sure how old your baby is so chucking it out there in case)

JUst my mom but she walks with a cane. She was very helpful feeding the baby-we ended up not able to breast feed due to an enzyme in my BM she couldn't break down. MY DH was here too but no other family and my mom left after the baby was 10 days old. It was hard and couldn't have done without DH but you can do it and I like being able to do things all my way-control freak here:-)
  • I have a bumbo and plan to use it as soon as she's a little stronger. I have a very sall house so it will be where she eats instead of a high chair for a bit. As for teh other MOby I"m not sure. My moby is pretty stretchy & I wish it was a smidge less stretchy honestly. I got a good deal on mine on amazon on cyber Monday. I woudl have NEVER bought one but a friend of mine demoed all her carriers at my shower and it's much easier than it first appears.

  • Im a control freak too - and my MIL is coming to stay a week with us (hopefully that is all) - and I dont want to be rude to her.. but Id like to do things my way.. and have her help out when asked. She's a total baby hog and evertime one of our neices or nephews cries she rips them out of my hands and acts like I cant handle it.. Im def not going to let that happen with my own child.. but good to know they were helpful! Im stressing out about that! Lol.
  •  I hate my MIL we have a horrible relationship and certainly wont parent the same way. She is flying in tomorrow though and god help me, but I am glad. I'm going to a baby shower and going to get out of the house! MY LO is 4 weeks so it's easier for me now to let her do it her way for a few hours for my sanity-it would not have worked right away. I would have lost the beneift of the help b/c I would not have been able to let go. I had a chat with DH and asked that he be on her about washing hands and other things important to me so I" mnot the one critcizing her, you might want to be sure he has your back on that! GL

My MIL and I have a fairly decent relationship.. I just wish she would have asked - not just TOLD us.. lol.. but Im not one to push her away because she will help clean and cook.. and DH doesnt get too many days off.. so it might just be me and her during the days.. but my mom lives like 2 minutes away.. DH doesnt think that she will stay that long.. and that she will be respectful of my wishes.. and she wont do anything unless asked (afraid to piss me off.. lol) - so we shall see!
