Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And auld lang syne
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll take a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne
And surely ye'll be your pint stowp
And surely I'll be mine
And we'll take a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll take a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne
We twa hae run about the braes
An pou'd the gowans fine
But we've wander'd mony a weary fitt
Sin' auld lang syne
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll take a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne
We twa hae paidl'd in the burn
Frae morning sun till dine
Re: Auld Lang Spam!
High: Starting to really enjoy my little girl and a general feeling of being able to manage things.
Low: My mom was in a very scary car accident (multiple cars totaled including hers) but thank G-d she walked away practically fine.
High: watching B's personality and sense of humor develop (even without words). 5 days now of B sleeping in. He slept until 7am today! He hasn't done that more than three times since he was born. It has been glorious.
Highs- DH graduating and KJ bringing the family together to spend a lot of time lots of time together
Low: hubby missing another birth thanks to deployment.
I think y'all already knew these things though
Low: Benjamin's penicillin reaction and subsequent ER trip, & my general moodiness throughout pregnancy.
Low: seeing my grandpa so sick and helpless.
I say after I just let DH blow his entire x-mas bonus on setting up a new fish tank. And its the gift that will keep taking as he tells me all the things he will still need to buy for it. DD is making it worth it as she says "fishhhhy" every time she walks past it. Gives me a good laugh because there aren't any fish in it yet, only water and freakishly expensive rock.
DH has either been off or on half days since he got back in Oct (minus the 4 weeks he was gone here and there for schools) but after this week he'll be back at work full time and it'll be weird not having him home and able for P to play with. But, we move in a month (!) and that's going to add a heck of a bunch of other stressors!
my brother-in-law messed his back up really bad when he took our niece and nephew to a place like that a few months back. They are finally sending him in for an MRI because they can't seem to fix him. Be careful!!
<:-P
When you become less flexible you will see how flexible they will become. Like: "Oh you can only see us on Christmas day? Well we can't be there so I guess we'll see you in 6 months." They will work it out quick.
But at least N and I are home. Safe and sound. After one loooong travel day. We flew and MH is driving. Also, @steamboat123 your ILs soooooo don't get it. I'm so exhausted from being out of town so long and staying in so many place.
I'm winning as a mom today. First, N locked herself in her adjoining hotel room. She walked into it and slammed the adjoining door shut so that we couldn't follow. No biggie right? We'll just go in the outside door. Except that we dead bolted and chained it at night. So she is alone, in a hotel room, that we can't get into. Took 30 min, the hotel engineer, and a hammer to knock the chain off. Luckily she sat by the adjoining door with me most of the time so no damage done.
Then I forgot to bring a jacket or hat or any warm layer for our trip back to very cold weather. So when we landed we bought the only thing at the airport we could find, a small kids hoodie, and I threw my scarf on her head when we were outside.
And to top it all off, I accidentally let her fall asleep while we were walking around the airport. We are veteran fliers - this was her 15th flight, and 9 or 10 of those have been just the two of us - and I made this rookie mistake. So she dozed for like 10 min, woke up when we boarded, and was miserable but wouldn't sleep for the whole plane ride. THEN I was going to keep her awake on our way back to the condo so she could nap in her crib but once again, I took my eyes off of hers and she zonked out. So the I sat in the condo, holding her car seat stroller thing in the position it was when she fell asleep, letting her sleep as long as she will.
But at least we are hoooooome for the first time in almost 3 weeks.
Went grocery shopping and bought some essentials. Like wine. I'm counting down the minutes til bedtime so I can drink wine and cry because I've wanted to so many times today but managed to hold it together!
