Seriously @megsw85. Call the dealership and see what it would cost to get a block heater installed aftermarket. I doubt it's much, but in Alberta weather you really need it! My truck started like it was +10 out this morning even though it was well below -30 in St. Albert. It will also save your vehicle a lot of wear and tear. According to my dad and DH, it's hard on everything under the hood to start at low temps, even if it will start.
We survived a grocery store trip. Even though we ate right before we went, now that KJ knows more foods she whines that she wants applesauce, oatmeal, beans, and all other things are snack. Then she tries to grab items out of the the cart and demand I "op" (open) them. It was exhausting...
Anyone have a favorite brand of basic tshirts for layering? I got some really nice drapy cardigans and vests, but all of tshirts look crappy under them.
Feeling a little accomplished today. Did some laundry ( I still don't know how 3 of us have so much laundry...mainly SH who I swear wears 3 outfits a day), packed for business trip this week and made a plantain lasagna that I thought was tasty. A was dancing in her high chair so I'm guessing she liked it too. H not so much....you said you were tired of chicken so there ya go, something different and you dont like it...sandwich time for someone.
I don't want it to be sunday!! I went to work today for a couple hours and got some work done that would have taken forever if people were in the office. That made me miss nap time and I really could have used one today. Somebody call me a wahhhhhbulance! (
Long or short sleeved @Cricket81? I got some really great short sleeved Ts from the banana republic outlet last spring for under $10 each. They would work under cardigans.
Help the post count... What was your favorite part of the holiday season? What was your least favorite part of the holiday season? If you can change something for next year what would it be?
Favorite part was seeing my family at Christmas.
Least favorite was being and getting everyone sick.
Next year I really don't want to travel, but DH's sis and BIL may be on the East coast so we may travel to be with all his family who hasn't been together in who knows how long. (They're military too)
@classictwitch - I love that you drink tea while watching! I think I'll do the same
I can't remember everything that happened last season so I'm reading synopsis blogs. I'm anxious to find out what happens with the storylines you mentioned as well, especially with Lady Edith.
@cl8badb, I'll play since I'm procrastinating to getting some work done.
Help the post count... What was your favorite part of the holiday season?
Spending Christmas eve and Christmas morning in OUR home. We are always traveling and this year my parents came to us Christmas eve so we got to be home and enjoy the morning before traveling to see H's family 3 hrs away.
What was your least favorite part of the holiday season?
Having A be so sick and miserable until we took her to the ER.
If you can change something for next year what would it be?
I wouldn't get A so many things. I figured that since we weren't going to my parents house she wouldn't get many things from my family and my parents' friends...WRONG! They love her and she got so many toys. Next year I intend to have her help me pick out some toys to donate. This year I picked a few to donate and I want to continue that every year and teach her that.
I left Alex and Grayson to take a quick shower. I have been hiding in the bedroom since I got out of the showeer because I need a break from the clingy baby that is Grayson right now. I'm so ready for a full week of work. I feel so bad for saying that because I know Grayson is sick and doesn't feel good but he had been on me for the last 3 days. He even wants to sleep on top of me at night!
I'm so excited for Downton Abbey!! I'm writing thank you notes on behalf of DD for her Christmas gifts while I wait for it to start. I can't wait until she's old enough to do them herself!
Being home with A these past few days has really let us see how much she's picking up on more words and she loves making animal sounds. It's just the cutest to hear! Not looking forward to having to leave her Tues for business trip
Sorry for the post and run but I just wanted to stop in and say Happy New Year to everyone! The first two weeks of vacation were a little crazy but I've spent the last 10 days completely relaxed and unplugged, and it's been very good for me. I hope everyone is doing well. I'll try and get caught up this week but no guarantees.
Favorite part: Actually NYE when we had a bunch of friends over. I love my family, but it was really fun to get all our friends over with their toddlers. It was nice to see LO having fun and playing so nicely with his "friends."
Least favorite: lots of illness (colds, ear infections, and the hospitalization of an elderly relative)
Change for next year: Use my time more efficiently to be able to get more me time. I would have loved to get to more reading and knitting over the last couple weeks, but really only cracked a book for the first time yesterday.
Re: Auld Lang Spam!
And I hope you get out to go to yoga. You will feel better.

What was your favorite part of the holiday season? - spending time with family I don't get to see often.
What was your least favorite part of the holiday season? - can't think of anything right now.
If you can change something for next year what would it be? - I hope we can go out of the country to celebrate with family abroad.

I thought it was kind of boring. I know they have to lay the groundwork for the season but I hope it gets better next week.
