I posted this on another thread but I'm adding it here We are having a little lady - super excited I opened the envelope Christmas Eve night, while face timing my parents and grandparents in Australia (which was their Christmas morning)
Once I revealed it, dad pulled out a pink little onesie and said "We guessed right!!" Funny buggers I then handed the envelope to SO's mum to reveal to his family here.
I called my family after the a/s and when they asked how it went I said pointedly SHE is ok. We also sent out the card attached. Everyone is very excited to finally have a little girl as everyone between both our families has boys.
We are having a boy and revealing to my in laws tonight. When we are all watching a movie, we are going to bring out bachelorette theme items such as penis whistles and inflatable penises and surprise them. They have no idea we know what we're having.

You are announcing to your family by blowing on a penis whistle while holding an inflatable penis?

I totally love this image. Xmas movies, family time, inflatable penis's. The reason for the season...

This is something right out of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. You can't make this up!

And you thought you'd never get to use all that penis paraphernalia again!!!! Way to recycle.

(I mentioned our plans in another thread, but I'll tell it again, now that it actually happened!)
We're having a boy!
For my IL's, who were here on Xmas morning, and our DS's, I got the biggest box (with the lid that lifts off, rather than flaps, you know what I mean) that I could find and stuffed it with a baby blue tablecloth, some tinsel, some small "It's a boy" balloons, and a big helium "It's a boy" balloon so that it floated out when the boys opened the box. Took a minute for the information to sink in but when it did everyone was excited! MIL happy-cried.
For my family, on the other side of the country, I sent a smaller box with a blue baby-bottle garland inside, with one end taped to the lid so that when they opened it the garland would unfold. And just in case that didn't get the message across, I taped a sign on it that said, "It's a boy!" Which turned out to be a good thing, because my mom apparently didn't get it at first ;p
We had been telling everyone that our ultrasound wasn't until next month, so no one was expecting it! I was worried we would slip up and say something accidentally or someone would see me smuggling all this blue stuff in and out of the house, but it all went off without a hitch!
We are having 2 little boys, I already knew(thanks to my ob) so I made dh 2 snow globe ornaments w the ultrasound pic inside (not the genitals , that was in an envelope ) so dh opened up both and started to tear up, then making me cry. It was still special but, I wish I could of been surprised with him.
I have to commend all of you, we toyed with the idea of waiting until Christmas morning (when our anatomy scan was the 17th) and I couldn't even pretend to be able to wait that long.
@staccajaye it was extremely funny. My mother in law didn't get it at first then we gave her a card with a picture of the baby. Then she started crying haha.
We had ultrasound tech write our babies sexes on a piece of paper and seal it up. I wrapped that in s box with two pink and two blue ornaments. We opened after Christmas dinner and we read the results to ourselves then each picked up one ornament that corresponded to results. It's a boy and a girl! I started crying. Of course I cried at a lot of things yesterday with my hormones going crazy.
I had my Dr place the results of our DNS test in an envelope and then gave it to DH to open Xmas morning. He was so surprised cause I kept telling him we were going to wait. It's a girl!! I've been all over Pinterest planning a nursery and cute outfits!
My mom actually was in charge of the reveal yesterday. She did it with two boxes. One had a boy outfit and a girl outfit. I started crying thinking somehow I was having twins bc her face was stone. Then removing those a note said to open the next box to find out which outfit to give away. The next box had a onesie wrapped, that said "Little Brother" we are beyond excited to have another little boy to add to our boy and girl combo already. now just to wait 19 weeks to meet Zeplin Matthew.
We found out we are having a boy on Christmas Eve. DH was so happy he cried. We had a friend make a boy and girl scratch off in advance. Wrapped up the boy one for DH's mother. It went over really well!
I had my anatomy scan on December 5 and had the ultrasound tech put the sex in an envelope, which proceeded to sit on our coffee table for two whole weeks. I had moments of weakness when I thought I might open the envelope.
Then when we went home for Chrisrmas my parents had a dinner with a bunch of family and we ordered Christmas cupcakes, giving the envelope to the baker and telling her to fill them with red for a boy and green for a girl. After dinner, we all bit into the cupcakes at the same time (there's much squealing on the video of it) and saw red - we are having a little boy!!! DH and I are so excited!
I made a salt dough ornament that said "BOY" and hide it on the tree at my parents house Christmas eve and told everybody the answer was on the tree. We did the same thing the next day at the inlaws' house. It was fun seeing everybody hunt for it.
We had our ultrasound on Monday and had the tech put the results in a envelope. My neighbor took the results and wrapped the ornament that I made. We opened the box last night with our entire family. It's a boy! My stepson is pretty excited!
Just had our a/s this afternoon. We are so excited to be having a HEALTHY boy!!!! DD on the other hand started to cry bc she wants a sister. Hoping she warms up to the idea over the next 4 months!!

We had a similar experience with our oldest dd. I made cupcakes with blue icing in the middle. She was disappointed in the news but was happy she had cake lol. I'm just glad we can deal with her disappointment now and not in the hospital room.
I am updating this now that I am on a PC and not my stupid POS new phone. Ugh.
Anyway. After our scan on the 15th, we went to the local Hallmark and picked out a blue and pink ornament. We gave the cashier the envelope with the picture and asked her to wrap the correct ornament for us. When we got home my husband hid it from me because he doesn't trust me
Christmas Eve, we put the monster to bed, set up the presents and turned on some Christmas music. We sat on the couch together and opened the box. I have to say, I wasn't surprised to see the pink ornament in there We then texted the picture to our friends and family (my husband does not enjoy being the center of attention).
We got our envelope from the ultrasound tech on the 16th and I carried it around in my purse until the 23rd. Stashed it at my sister's house so that she could make us a cake to take home on Christmas Eve to cut on Christmas morning with my stepdaughter and her boyfriend. Cake wasn't quite finished when we got there Christmas Eve, and hubby was convinced he saw pink icing in the sink.
On the way home, we decided it was awesome to be having another girl. We picked a name, and started planning how to split up the room for the nursery area.
We told stepdaughter we had accidentally seen but wanted her to be surprised. She cut the cake.
It was blue. We are having a boy. We are still in shock, and my sister is a sneaky sneaky wench.

We found out on Monday so I made boy ornaments for my mom, MIL and SIL. I put a copy of the ultrasound pic in a clear ornament with blue and green confetti in the shapes of bottles, onesies, airplanes boats and trucks. They didn't photograph well with the glare, but they were a big hit! (Except with my teenage niece who really wanted a girl cousin to dress up and do her hair). Lol
I thought I had put my story on here, but I guess not!
DH and I had our anatomy scan on Monday the 22nd and had the tech seal it up for us. We met my best friend of 15 years for lunch and gave her our envelope. She wrapped a gender specific gift for us and dropped it off on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Day when we were with all of our family, our DD opened the box and out popped our baby boy balloon!! We were so thrilled because we were both really hoping for a little guy. Aside from the balloon, my bestie filled the box with all kinds of cute boy gear. It was awesome! My sister's friend filmed the whole thing for us. It was so hard to wait but I am glad I did!
I love reading all the stories (and had a few unexpected chuckles!)
We told our immediate families about a month or so ago, but to tell friends and the rest of our family, we had our holiday card pictures taken at a Christmas tree farm and included a pic of our "It's a Girl" ornament hanging in one of the trees.
We opened an ornament with DS on Christmas morning! We thought maybe we could hold out until May but Christmas seemed like such a special time. So excited our DS is getting a baby brother!
I made a snow globe for my mom to open on Christmas morning, we pretended our appointment to find out the sex wasn't for another week so she was stoked to see an ultrasound with a bow tie and Santa hat on in the middle of this snow glode !
