Y'all. Mh ordered pizza for dinner. He FORGOT to order no cheese on mine. We have no food in the house bc we are going to the store tomorrow. Way to go guy. Way to go.
So... Will P be ok if I pull off the cheese and just eat the crust? Or would the cross contamination make her sick?
On a serious note, how badly does she react if you have a very small amount of dairy? I'd assume that *some* of the dairy will be left if you pull off the cheese.
Sorry, must have been typing at the same time. She is reacting less severely now than she used to. Most just green mucousy poo, sometimes a little red rash, but not screaming inconsolably anymore.

I'd probably risk it as long as I knew she wasn't going to be miserable if she had a reaction to it.

But when you melt cheese all the juiciness comes out. I'd imagine it's mixed in the sauce. Is that the whey?
That's the oil. That's what I mean. I think there will still be dairy left on the pizza even if you pull off the cheese. But theoretically, I don't think the oil should have the protein in it, although it would still probably have traces. I used to be able to eat Ghee without a reaction from DS.
Anyone use a bed rail on a crib converted to toddler bed? Right now Ms mattress is on the floor inside 3 walls of her crib. The last is open. I'd love something I can easily and silently put up once she's asleep so she doesn't keep rolling off. Would also use once we raise it back off the floor too.
Our toddler bed has a half rail. That side needs to be attached bc three sides of the crib aren't stable
That's of no help to you. I thought bed rails usually go under the mattress and the rail part can be lowered down and raised, kind of on a hinge. That might work?!
I'm just so upset. Like, how do you forget? I feel like my entire life revolves around eating the right things and avoiding the wrong things and keeping food logs and waiting 3 days between new foods and analyzing every single poop. How do you just forget?
(I know, I know, is she still on this? Yep, bc I'm starving and pissed.)

I'd be furious. It's really hard to have limited options when it comes to food and it's so much worse when you're starving and you're stuck.

Seriously, go send him out to get you food. You have been responsible feeding your daughter for how many months, and have to deal with all the food issues. You deserve to eat!
Cookie decorating party was pretty successful today. The only issue was my SIL putting her pizza in the oven on top of the sheet of cookies in there already, thus knocking some cookies off, burning them atte bottom of the oven, filling the house full of smoke, and then having 4 people around the oven trying to figure out how to get said cookies off the bottom of the hot oven so they can stop smoking. I still don't know how she didn't notice the big sheet of cookies....
I just read an old thread on my BMB that referenced the trolling of AggieMom on our board and someone (who's name I recognize but is escaping me atm) said that it was bad to troll the cd board because we are so close. Aww shucks. I liked reading that.
I think our board only has the illusion of being close. The resentment is simmering just below the surface.
Eta Just like family!

My husband surprised me with a toddler Tula for Christmas. I don't have it yet but it probably won't be here by Christmas so he told me. I'm super happy about it and it was really sweet that he even remembered me mentioning one weeks ago...But it's not a print I would have picked for myself. He said I could return it if I liked another one more. Does that make me a crappy wife though? I don't want to make him feel bad since he was so excited about it. Should I just suck it up and learn to love the print?

Switch it out for the print that you love. I'm sure YH wants you to be happy about the print.

... as if there is a board that is good for trolling? LOL
I am already having a bad day. I got NOTHING done yesterday because R is teething and refused to be put down. He refused to be worn - I had to hold him. DH spent the day working outside and in the garage to catch up from being away for almost 2 weeks, so he had no idea what was happening inside. Then he was frustrated that the sink was full of dishes, our bags are still packed and in the entry hall, etc. So he stayed up until midnight cleaning. Usually that would be great, but he didn't do it because he wanted to help. It was because he was pissed I didn't get it done.
And then I forgot to get him stuff for breakfast at the store yesterday. And I took his (electric) car to run errands and forgot to plug it in afterwards. So he had to take my car to work, which has the stroller and the Tula in it. So going out today would be nearly impossible unless I want to carry R which is unproductive and exhausting.
At least that stupid tooth finally came through so hopefully I'll get some stuff done today.
Wow, @Brandiewine11 when it rains, it pours doesn't it. Give yourself a break, okay? Sometimes something's gotta give. Or a lot of things do. The 2 weeks you spent holding it all together on your own must count for something. Not that you should be keeping score. Just go easy on yourself, and let YH know how grateful you are for everything he has been doing. Sounds like he is having a hard time too.

In other news, I have been sick with back to back colds and asthmatic lungs for 3 weeks running. Back to the Dr. today, hoping they can at least give me something so that I can get some sleep instead of spending all night hacking up my lungs.
@stringy813 The bed rail thing is possible. I have seen a friend of a friend do it, but I don't know what brand they have. I do know that the kind my mom has will only work with a regular bed with box spring, so not all rails are created equally.

Let it out, @TJ1979, let it out! I can't imagine how hard it is with so many foods your LO can't eat. I thought just avoiding dairy and soy were tough.
ETA I somehow missed everyone already posted in response last night so sorry for the "why is she now just jumping in on this?" timing.
@stringy813 I have a Munchkin brand bedrail that was what they carry in stock at Target. It has two bars that slide underneath the mattress with adjustable straps on the ends of them to help hold it in place. It also flips down, but I was never able to use that feature because the bed I used it on has a box that the mattress sits down into. I think it would probably work for what you are wanting. You should be able to fold it down so it is just flat against the floor and then fold it back up after she goes to sleep. It is about 2/3 the length of my crib.

Thanks - looks like it is discontinued but that is the kind of thing I'm looking for. I"ll have to wait until after the madness of this week and actually go places to look at them. Some look like they won't work with a mattress on the floor either - although its possible she might be okay raised if the rail is right.
Has anyone made a pattern by just looking at a few pictures of a bag online? There's a bag I want to recreate but I've never made a pattern before.
I've done this for blankets/quilts. If you know how to make bags i general its probably not too difficult. Just figure out the final size, add your seam allowances for the various pieces and go for it.

Well if you succeed be sure to sell it for almost TWO HUNDRED dollars!?!?! what is it made of, gold?
That's a lot of effing work, with all the zippered pockets etc. I was gonna help you draft a pattern, but jeez that's kind of a lofty goal for a first time drafting a pattern, awful.

1. You can tell I am really bored at work if I am designing real estate flyers out of the goodness of my heart for my favorite sales guy (personal favor).
2. I screwed up on ordering MIL's birthday gift, and now it's too late. (I ordered an Origami Owl locket, but I am a twit that didn't notice you have to order the face of the locket separately). Mister was super nice about it. I don't know why, I expected him to be pissedddddd. And he was just like "whatever. Order it now and we will explain". in 15 years he's never been pissedddddd, so I don't know what I was expecting!
@stringy813 if you go with the mattress on the floor I want to know how it goes. We are thinking that's what we'll do with Z when new baby comes. I have a feeling he's going to learn how to climb out of his crib by then and I'd rather not buy a toddler bed.
We were pro-active with E. It was a battle getting the crib side off, but moving to the twin bed on the floor was not an issue. Open crib to twin bed only took about 2-3 nights to get her to have no issues. We had more issues with her falling out of the crib with one side open, than the twin bed.
