I wanted to watch a movie in bed on my computer but my internet is out. Even all my neighbors whose wifi connections don't have passwords are out. Boo comcast.
@casey78 My photos aren't making the sweetness case as neatly as I'd like. They have a tendency to be more on the crazy, hugging brother to death, or let's jump around and dance together like wild men side, which is hard to capture on camera!
But.... lots of opportunities for dance parties, and so no need for the jogging stroller?
Team kick dog. Can we also be team kick neighbor? I hate when people don't leash their dogs. I apologize if Jackson even barks at someone. I would feel horrible if he scared a child, or really anyone. Leash laws don't just protect people, they protect dogs from having to be kicked for scaring the shit out of people.
There was a huge uproar on my neighborhood moms listserv because of leashed dogs. In the local arboretum the dog owners have sort of occupied a chunk for themselves that is now de facto a leash-free zone. Which is not really legal. But since everyone does it, well, there you go. So about a month ago a mom wrote on the listserv complaining about this practice, because officially, the entire park is a leashed zone and that a dog had come bounding and barking up to her toddler daughter, she was scared, the owner got aggressive and dismissive... The thread blew up. I had no idea how many parents were SO flippant about this. The ratio of "everyone does it/MY dog is well behaved/just go somewhere else" to "yeah, this is not a good thing" was staggering. One dad in particular from a playgroup we go to was very "dog-owner's rights" and "we self-police just fine, thank you"
Kind of sad.
^^ This is so Portland. It's my city's one flaw, IMO, the lawlessness of dog owners. I'm totally that mom that calls people out on it. And then I always get called a bitch instantly. Yeah, I'm a bitch because I'm telling you that you shouldn't have your off leash dog roaming the playground full of kids while you are no where near it. Right.
@skleigh I have chased a dog out of my yard with a shovel and then cursed out its owner. Who was like, completely surprised how her dog could have ended up in my yard! Because you don't have it on a leash, dumbass.
We have a christmas/holiday party to go toin a few weeks. Blazer casual... can someone explain this to me? I don't go to many parties and this is confusing to me. :-??
Also my phone wouldn't let me space to and in. [-(
Never heard of it. In my sorority we had snappy casual, which meant 'not jeans, but doesn't have to be a skirt or dress.'
I'm guessing Blazer casual is what Trailblazers wear out to a nice luncheon?
I'm pretty annoyed at the fact that we got pwned by North Korea.
Fucking embarassing.
Agree. I was so mad about this last night.
I'd go so far as to say I am butthurt about it. Definitely stewing.
Which led to some interesting brainstorming with DH. Not that DH needs more billable hours because he already is up til 2 am working 60-80% of the time on the 2-3 projects he has but....I think this one's high profile enough to have legs.
Good thing getting people to respond/communicate like professional humans at his company is easy...oh wait. Not at all. (Still butthurt about that too).
This and the Cuba thing happening on the same day. Very interesting day.
Re: Wednesday's spam needs a fresh start
And I kind of felt bad for hating on a kid.. but he was annoying.
