Hump day!

Re: Hump day!

  • FAWK MAN a friend's wife is now selling something called Nerium.  5 posts a day on FB about this shit, and DH just got a call that they want to stop by on their way through town next week..... they haven't stopped by in 3 years.  I smell a sales pitch.

This. This is why I haven't done anything with what I signed up for. I initially just signed up for the discount, then I thought about actually running a business, but people that saturate the market with their posts have ruined the desire for me because I don't want to be another one of "those people."

  • Poor Cal has a yucky head.  I've tried Aveeno, Coconut Oil, Honest Company Healing Balm, my L'Bri stuff.  Nothing is working.  He's still peely/scaly.  I think I've now figured out that it is eczema--his next doc appt is on 12/27, so we'll ask then.  I'm going to try the SheaMoisture Eczema therapy soap & lotion that worked for me and if that doesn't work, I have no idea what to do. I'm not putting a baby on steroid cream, especially since none of that ever worked for me.  I guess I'll just invest in hats.

Nancy pets his head and says "that's not my brother, his head is too bumpy."  Stupid "That's Not My" books. :-(

Yep, this is why my Jamberry isn't doing what I thought it would.  I am just not willing to drive people crazy with it.  I'm sad I'm not doing as well as I wanted to, but I can't devote the time to it and I can't just keep baraging people with posts and e-mails.  It feels icky.
  • @tinyhumantoe... that picture is fucking gross.

@flamingemu, what a bitch. That super sucks for the kid(s), too. Obviously she's not a good role model. I agree with PP.. can you provide tracking info that shows you actually did send the gifts and that they arrived??

@BPer, that guy sounds like a total asshat. If he's saying those things to you, he's probably mistreating other women too. If he loses his job, it's not your fault. It's his, for being such a butt face.

Camden's cradle cap is still being stubborn at 6 months, so I asked his doc about it yesterday. She said to try baby oil and a baby brush, then wash with Neutrogena T-Gel 2-3 times/week.

  • @flamingemu That is so disheartening :(

@willy_gert when are you scheduling your house cleaning?!
No idea!  I sent it on to DH to ask when he would be available for them to come.

@flamingemu that does totally suck and is so wrong!

  • @MarisaKathleen I can always relate to your posts about students... so here is a gem for you. I just had a student some in and ask me to send in a in-school deferment form for his student loans that are in forbearance. They are in forbearance because he hasn't been able to come to my office to fill out the form. I asked all of the students at orientation 3 months ago who needed a form... then, before he leaves he asked me to send him an e-mail letting him know that I have taken care if it. I said, I am about to send it in. "I know, but I just want to make sure that you do it."

I have been blocking and deleting like crazy lately. My cousin posts 1 pic or update of her newborn for every 10-20 posts of her skincare crap. It makes me crazy, so I block and forget now. No more crazy.

  • Hey @tinyhumantoe, I google'd Nerium.  Is it a cream?  Or is there more than 1 thing on the market with that name, aside from a species of tree?  I believe it's this stuff, at least according to the review which describes it as a direct sales company.

I'd have a hard time paying $80 for a cream that will do actually nothing for your skin and could potentially kill your kid if they decided to be a goon and eat it.  You guys all know how I am with my skincare/makeup.  For $80, I could give you around 20 other things that would be better for your skin & would actually help improve it.  Ridiculous.

We've been using Renew on Aedan's eczema and honestly, it's been the best thing we've tried so far (and we've literally tried everything).

And seriously, Nancy is so hilarious.

  • @BobKat22, that woman sounds like a world class ass clown.  I would definitely send in that review.  If she's doing it to you, she's either done it to other people, or will do it again and that's not someone who should be in charge of other people's kids.

Good for you for standing your ground and being the bigger person.  I wouldn't have been able to do that.

  • Ugh, I'm sorry she's being difficult @bobkat22. I'm sure it's a relief to have found something else, but I hate she's causing unnecessary drama over your DD leaving.

I did it guys. Not in a cocky way, but I killed her with kindness and professionalism and left her stammering in shock. Long version- DH was supposed to tell her yesterday at pick up a nice version of why we found other care. Then I was going to address the blog after her last day. Well, she loaded him down with Christmas gifts and crafts and he couldn't find the balls to say it. So I called last night. I started out by thanking her for the Christmas gift, asked if DD could bring cupcakes to the daycare Christmas party today, chatted about Christmas happenings, and then apologized for telling her over the phone but we found other care due to convenience. It went well. She understood. We talked about when the two weeks notice would be up and other formalities. I then said I wanted to discuss one other thing and I hoped it wouldn't cause any awkwardness and I would like to end on a positive note. I told her I read her blog post about us and while I was thoroughly pissed at the time, I am over it, but I did want to tell her I wasn't happy about it and how unprofessional I thought it was. "Uh uh uh....what blog...what post" Oh you know, the one about Hadley saying bit fuck. She owned it. I was impressed. She justified it by saying she didn't use names and it was just an exaggeration to be used for entertainment. I told her it was unfortunate that she would use one of her daycare families as entertainment. Her next response had panic in it and she asked if I still had the reference questionnaire I was supposed to send in to DHS so she could finish up her licensing. I've been holding on to it claiming that I keep forgetting to mail it in. She told me not to send it in because it was for people who had good things to say about her and this was exactly why she closed down her daycare before. Then she started questioning me on how I could see the blog. I told her she posted something on the internet. It's public. She said she didn't have time to play detective to find out how I did that, like I was wrong for reading it. This chick is a world class flipper in times of distress. I told her I didn't appreciate the personal attacks and it was unfortunate she felt that way about us. She stammered some more. Then she told me hurriedly that I didn't need to bring DD on the days we agreed to end care. I told her I wanted to honor our contract and could look past this and she told me my money wasn't needed and hung up on me. Today was the Christmas party. I dressed her up really nice and DH dropped her off. She sat at the door holding her wrapped book so excited for the book exchange and DH could hear the sitter yelling not to open the door. One of her kids let them inside. She wouldn't speak to DH, but was nice to DD. He left. She then texted me to ask which day would be her last. I was PISSED by that point. I told her she obviously had no interest in keeping her so today would be the last day and I was happy DD could enjoy the Christmas party. Now I'm sitting at work in tears. She started sending me text after text in that legal speak she tries to use to sound intellegent. I responded appropriately. We have been going back and forth and it's getting nasty now. I tried so hard to be the bigger person, but I finally sent her a not so nice message. Now I want DD to leave NOW and I can't leave to get her.
What a crazy bitch!  I'm glad you're getting H out of there.
  • @beebopandbuddy, It's made out of Nerium Oleander Leaf.  As in 'White Oleander' the movie? Oleanders are poisonous if ingested.  Not that you should be eating this shit, but you know what I mean.  It's also an insecticide.

Since I had to quit smoking, I'm stupidly aware of all the gross shit you can put on your skin or in your body when you read ingredients.  It just freaks me out so bad.

I think so!  I couldn't remember who it was @pokedot!  The name sounded familiar when you recommended it and when I got home that night I found a sample of it under the sink.  I think they gave it to me when I was in the hospital with DS2 and I had no idea how awesome it was.

  • Did I tell you guys how cute the "put me in the story" books are?  There is one where every page is a bunch of pics of kids, and your kid has to find their own picture - Find Me If You Can - freaking adorable!  All of the books are amazing.  I ordered them after I found out Flatten Me went out of business.
I ordered two of them on your recommendation.  They are supposed to arrive Thursday - I'm so excited!!

@pokedot & @kelbel527, Can I order that stuff without having to sign up for a whole thing and order so much per month, etc?  Someone sales pitched me for this last year and I was really turned off by that part.

I see that I can get it on Amazon too, so nevermind. :-)

We have I Love You So Much. It is cute. When ever I tell L I love her she says 'So Much' which is the response at the beginning and end of the book. I am debating getting more for Christmas, but I already over bought.  I will wait a couple months.

It's wonderful stuff. I signed up about 2 months ago and haven' thad time to try everything I ordered but DS loves the toothpaste and his Koala foam soap. The Renew is amazing! It's awesome for diaper rash too FYI.

Now I'm wishing I would have ordered more for gifts.  I ordered a couple for gifts.  The day you were born (is that what it's called?) was big and really cute.  My dad loves me is really cute too.  I got that as a gift for DH.
