  • Mine are green but they have this really dark green band around the outside so it's not as obvious unless I wear green.  DH has bright green eyes hidden behind these thick luxurious lashes and glasses lol  DD has green but they have a thin dark band around the outside like mine.

  • Yeah, my dad and my dh both call the bright YELLOW Gatorade green Gatorade. Drives me nuts.

  • Found this!

    https://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2012/09/120907-men-women-see-differently-science-health-vision-sex/

I remember reading about it when it was first published; makes sense for the differences, at least how color is seen.  Not sure I buy the evolutionary explanation

  • My dad has been insisting for years that his eyes were green, when really they were icy blue. His "proof" is that it says so on his drivers license. But you fill in your own answers at the DMV!

The best part is that recently he's finally accepted that his eyes are blue, but I just realized the other day that they're now a very light grey. ;)
  • I was born with brown eyes but they are green now, I swear people are going to think I had the milk man's baby.

  • At work.  Sitting in my chair and I get cramps.  Decided I'm going to take a small walk.  Go outside and walk down the street and back.  My god, the pressure and feeling of "this baby is about to fall out of my vagina" made me realize that I shouldn't take any more walks.  Hurts.

  • This happens to me every time I have to get up in the middle of the night to go pee. It's fun being 100 weeks pregnant!
I've been so lucky.  I didn't start feeling uncomfortable until this weekend.  I really wanted to be pregnant and feel bad for complaining.  But now I finally understand why/how pregnant women complain towards the end of their pregnancy.  This shit hurts and I don't know how I might be able to deal with two more weeks of this insane pressure.

  • My husband is color blind, no question. He can't tell the difference between Yellow/Green/Red LEDs on electronics.

Also, on contractions, I had an NST this morning (baby passed with flying colors) and when the doctor looked at the print outs, she said "Oh, I think this was a contraction. Maybe. I can't really tell."  Which doesn't make me feel bad if I don't know either.

Ditto. My bump can almost graze the steering wheel. Luckily I don't drive all too much.
I invested in some petal extenders because my bump touched the wheel. :( 62" is way too small. Hopefully, LO inherits his father's height. ;)

  • Someone tell me if I am being super hormonal raging or what. My MIL verified after the fact how to spell (inside babys) name. Because she put it on her Christmas cards. Because I'm clearly pregnant in the family photo we took at thanksgiving. So I'm annoyed because it's not her place to announce my babys name to everyone. Ugh I'm so angry. I had clearly told her that when baby gets here she can not post to facebook until I say so. Wouldn't that extend to Christmas cards?

Wow. You were serious. Like seriously serious. How much did those things cost? You are committed to safety!

I actually have a Jeep Wrangler at my parents house in Florida. I had to get an extender for the clutch, you literally have to push it to the floor. It was like $50. When we looked at vehicles, we test drove a Cadillac SRX and the salesman was adamant that I needed to use the electronic pedal extender because I was short and he put the seat "where I would be comfortable". I was so uncomfortable driving it, that we didn't buy it and went to another dealership.

  • If one more person tells me I looked pale after giving birth, I am going to freak out. I pooped out a child, I'm already super white, I'm not going to put on blush! Plus, it's been over a week, I'm not "pale" anymore.

I know you meant "popped," but given the running butt baby joke, I giggled a little at "pooped." :)

The whole time I was in labor I kept saying I felt like I was going to poop out the baby.

I would definitely be upset if someone else announced the baby's name before I got a chance!

  • Thanks for the well wishes, ladies! Still no update over here - no idea when I'm going in. XD

In other news, this house in my city makes me feel like I'm doing Christmas wrong:

Wow, I've been doing it all wrong. I wonder what their electricity bill is like.
    PS: good luck today!
  • @marsavary - I am! Assuming they call me with a time, haha. :) We're sitting around waiting for them to tell us when they have room/can take us. So Ottawa-Gatineau ladies, STOP HAVING BABIES, it's my turn! I am unlikely to have any kind of news for a while yet, though. In the hilarious and surreal words of my OB yesterday: "Well, it's not the WORST cervix I've ever seen for someone 38 and a half weeks, but it'll be a while."

When my doctor checked my cervix Friday he literally said "damn, uh I mean, your cervix isn't favorable..... How about we put you on the books for induction Tuesday evening?"

    I almost peed myself laughing!!!

  • @misskilljoy I go in for my appointment to check my cervix in twenty minutes so hopefully things are a little better. But if not, that's what balloon catheters are for, right?!? Lol

    Good luck to you!!!
Hope you're not waiting too much longer!

  • All this talk of Bishop Score, membrane sweeps and cervix checks makes me nervous.  I have a check up tomorrow and my midwife told me that she wants to check my cervix tomorrow.  I know that it doesn't necessarily mean anything because things can change so quickly, but I'm going to end up being sad and probably pissed off if I'm not dilated or effaced.

  • So many of my friends are sick right now, but they keep saying how I need to have this baby. They don't realize they won't be able to meet her if they aren't healthy! After explaining that the baby can't be around a bunch of people with colds or the flu they've simmered down on the baby talk, thank goodness.

Not gonna lie to you, it's kind of disappointing when the doctor doesn't exactly tell you what you want to hear, but the checks themselves aren't actually that bad. :)
