Just curious if anyone is planning the nursery yet since many of us have found out our babies' sexes? These posts were my favorite last time, so I was wondering when will they start?
Sorry if this feels too soon, but I'm about halfway there and I know this pregnancy is going to go way faster than I realize...

I am currently trying to decide if I want to do a woodland creature theme in the nursery or no theme and just color coordinate, or a completely different theme. I was team green with DS so I didn't really get to do a nursery the way I can this time. And this might be it for me, so I can't make a decision! Argh!
The changing table already came in and crib should be here next week.
We have everything picked out already. DH is starting to finish the basement so I can have a closet, spare bedroom, and living space (guy's room). Then we can move the current furniture out of what will be the nursery.
I ordered the furniture (in white) crib, dresser that will double as a changing table, and a glider from Buy Buy Baby over Veteran's Day weekend. I've had the paint color (aegean teal) and the decorations (kittens and butterflies) picked out. I bought the cutest wall decals and we printed out a few pictures to frame and hang.
As for bedding, I want to do the Lambs and Ivy Tiffany set, with the mobile and lamp. I bought the butterfly from the set to put on the wall. DH thought the fisher price mobile was more practical. But I didn't like it. I still need to order a narrow bookcase for the room and then we should have pretty much everything for it. I'd like a different light fixture but I think that might be going a bit too crazy with things, and we don't have high enough ceilings for what i want.

We are going with an animal theme (elephants, giraffes, etc). We found the cutest bedding set at Pottery Barn that's grey and white. We are going to add some pops of color by buying (or I may try to make them) some canvases that have animal silhouettes and cute sayings on them. I also found an oversized giraffe stuffed animal to help soften the room. I'm leaning towards not getting a changing table, because the room we are using as the nursery isn't all that big.
I'm definitely getting anxious, because we are 21 weeks on Saturday and have not made a single baby purchase. My H travels Monday-Thursday every week and it getting into his "busy season" with work and because of this I feel like I need to have the nursery set by the end of the second trimester, or I'm going to be looking at the crib in the box and try to put it together myself when I'm huge!

@PinkDahLia44 I won't completely discount pink. I just don't like baby pink I guess, which is hard to avoid with babies. I did see a really pretty mature (I don't think that's the word I'm looking for, but I can't think of a better one) Rose patterned sheet that I really liked on Carousel that I could accent with greens that I think would be way cute
This is the sheet in question
Also planning to add some art/ wall hangings that are airplane/map related. (Hubby has always been huge into both of those things and hubby's dad is a pilot.)
Love all these ideas. So excited to have it come together.
My inner nerd feels the need to point out my "C -3PO" typo. We fixed it in the final copy.
Now just to find the time to do it all.
We will have to do a thread in March/April to see everyone's finished nurserys!
So far, I've got grey walls.. lol. I'm really loving coral, gold and tiny pops of aqua/teal for our little girl.
We picked out a dresser that is being painted by some awesome local refab folks - but we are stuck on doing it a distressed grey or a solid coral.
We really struggle b/c I like more eclectic styles and he is very traditional. I'm sure it'll come together eventually.
Advice: let the room evolve. Don't try to plan it out step-by-step b/c your preferences will change over time and the flexible attitude will result in the perfect, doesn't seem overly planned type of room.

Here's the bedding I purchased. I also LOVE the cloud bedding by RH & lambie by Pottery Barn. So if I did a theme I guess that would be it
1) throughly prime & patch your walls, any little ding or knick will show more than if you were just painting a solid color
2) paint your base color (the cream) choose a flat or eggshell latex, allow to dry 2-3 days
3) using Scott blue painter's tape create your pattern (do not buy cheap tape, the paint will bleed under)
4) to help your pattern color pop I suggest using a satin finish latex paint
5) because its an animal print I would use sponges & 2 different shades of tan/brown close in color. This will create more of a textured feeling. You can also choose 1 color like the photo & using a roller brush just go over all the walls.
6) apply 2-3 coats of paint if using a roller
7) let dry at least 6 hours & peel off the tape, go back with the cream & touch up any spots that need it.
