I'm leaning towards either black and white or brown and white with orange accents for our little boy. Orange is my favourite colour but making the whole thing orange would be too much so I'm trying to incorporate other neutral colours.

not sure yet what i'm having yet but plan on doing this if it's a boy or girl, a owl theme with (i'm going nerd on this) Doctor Who. i just really starting to like owl's a lot lately and won't doing a whole lot of owls but some here and there in the room. as for Doctor Who! can't help that one cause DH and i love that show.
I was on joann's website earlier and i was really disappointed in the lack of space/alien themed material. Especially something that didn't scream super masculine. I don't know what I'm having yet but I'm trying to come up with something simple that will incorporate colors for each sex. But i really was failing to find anything. I found one piece of flannel that had cute purple and turquoise stars if it's a girl, but nothing quite the same if it's a boy. And all the monster stuff is in really traditionally masculine colors. Blues, orange, red, green. I was hoping maybe to see a variety of more bold colors.
So I'm completely lost now. I am thinking our furniture will likely be cherry so idk what to do...
We find out tomorrow! As soon as I know, I will be ordering fabrics I have had 2 versions of the same nursery planned for months. I can't wait to start making it a reality.
Find out if we're having a boy or girl on Friday. I finally got my first piece of furniture for the nursery, a Pottery Barn changing table for only $65 on Craigslist! Has some scratches, but DH will be painting it this weekend. So excited to start getting our little Bean's room together.
Edited to include where I got the changing table from.

I was pretty disappointed with JoAnn's selection too. Try etsy; it's not super well priced, but there's a lot of cool fabrics to choose from.
So is everyone helping paint? I actually like painting and usually am the type to randomly decide to reaping a room and do it all in a day. I just bought no VOC paint from SW. Of course DH thinks he should paint. He's not as good at trim work
For my boy/girl twins, I am doing a moon and stars theme in grey and white with some pops of pink for the little lady. Dwell makes amazing moon and stars accessories and I will supplement those with white and grey chevron sheets from less expensive companies!

I would totally help not pregnant. Not doing it pregnant. I get light headed enough without paint fumes. My mom is going to help him.
@rsaj0807 it was definitely a good portion nerves bc i was really sick before we got called into the room to have the u/s.
@mbm1983 omg, i didn't even think of etsy. These are fantastic! I like the art for the walls! So precious! Now that we know it's a girl, maybe I'll just choose colors and embroider the blankets to be more space themed. And art isn't too hard. I was also contemplating a stars and planet mobile to hang over the crib.
@mbm1983 see, I'm all about the pintrest right now. Hahaha. And I'll be curious what this little girl will be like. She will be mommy and daddy's princess. Space princess, dragon slayer princess, pretty princess, whatever she wanta. Haha

I'm doing the painting myself I don't live near family and Dh works on the road so if I want it done I have to do it myself. I just open a window (it's -21 brr) and put the ceiling fan on. I alps take lots of breaks so I'm not in the fumes too long!

since it's so cold out for you it might take a really long time to dry! just letting you know. paint doesn't dry well in wet/cold climates.
Thanks for the heads up, I've already done about half now, waiting for it to dry isn't a big deal for me just means longer breaks haha! I just wait a day between coats!
My husband really wanted to do a camo room for our little man... I think we are now leaning towards a hunting and fishing theme. The colors will be hunter green, dark teal, tan, and brown with accents/ decor of hunting and fishing.
I'm using my dd's bedding and accessories. I'm going to get new sheets but everything else is in good shape. I figured since we have to get dd new stuff for her big girl bed we might as well use this for a little longer. It's sugar plum from Cocalo which is purple and pinks butterflies.
We just found out we're having a girl - and don't plan to repaint the nursery that we used with DS2. Three of the walls are a very light cream/ivory color and one wall is the cream/ivory and navy blue stripes. We plan on pairing the navy blue and cream color with blush pink and some coral-y colors. Here is the bedding pattern we like and will use for inspiration:
We just found out we are having a boy! I think we decided on a vintage travel themed nursery. I plan to do a suitcase shelf wall. Hopefully I can figure it out!
I am a little crazy and started early, but we have it all done. It's a girl so we are doing a pink and gray room. I got most of my big items off craigslist and most of the decorating from etsy!
We already have two boys and now getting our girl. I've always wanted an Alice in Wonderland room and that will be hers. Light grey walls with one being lavender. Our crib and changing table is white. I've done a lot of searching on pinterest for ideas and material so mil can make curtains and crib bedding.
