  • Here's hoping Tuesday brings a little more sanity back know to the board. Yesterday was filled with some special posters.

My spam lot. I went to register for a hospital tour and there are no weekend openings until Jan. I am glad I looked when I did, didn't think it would be in such hot demand/ limited quantities. I tried to prevent register but that will have to wait as I know my insurance is changing in Jan :/

  • A quick post and run!
Sorry I have been away since the past few days.
I had my blood work today. Hoping for good results. I am off for my fitness classes so I will try to catch up once I get done.
    You all
    Have a great day!

I tried about a month ago to sign up for birthing classes at my hospital (they also include the tour on this) and they are all filled up until jan! So I know how frustrating that must be. My OB told me to call him when I want to come by and he would just show me around. Idk if that would apply in your case too but it's worth talking to someone!

Also @babybravesfan‌, my weight has fluctuated throughout this pregnancy as well. My OB isn't concerned, but weight is such a person-specific thing. She will say something though when we review my chart after the nurse takes my vitals. Like "everything looks good" or "you're up/down a few, that's fine!"

I didn't post anything about my weight? That might have been a different pp you are referencing. @willvilljill‌ is who I think you meant to tag.

@aggiebug I would go ahead and register with your current insurance.  With my luck, if I didn't pre register, I would go into labor in Dec.  You can always call and update your insurance once it changes.

Also - and I only mention this because I'm genuinely concerned and don't want to start another thread - I'm losing weight. I've lost at least 6 pounds in the last month. I'm big to begin with, so that's proportionately not very much, but still disconcerting. My belly is huge, so I don't know where the weight is coming from. Wanted to ask the doc about it today but it doesn't look like I'll have that chance. Anyone else experiencing this?
@willvilljill I wouldn't worry about weight.  I found out yesterday that I am still under my pre-pregnancy weight. As long as baby is growing on track, you are good to go. Usually we start to eat better when we are pregnant and that combined with increased metabolism, can cause weight loss. Your body is making sure baby gets what they need.

  • My whole area is under winter storm warnings and all the schools are cancelled today including the universities so yea for a grown up snow day!!!!

@willvilljill‌ I am a big girl but I have lost a little too. I think it has to do with eating healthier for the baby or in smaller quantities. Also baby takes more calories so it could be a combination. As long as you are not limiting your calories baby is probably fine. Call your dr office though if you are getting worried and they can help advise you!

@thedish0207‌ can I join your pity party? Same thing has happened to me!!!

@erobbins09‌ good luck on your test!!!!

Have a great day ladies! I am back to bed for a few hours because I can!!! :)
  • @aggiebug, I'm having a hell of a time trying to register for a hospital tour, too. As soon as dates go up, they fill up (and I check multiple times a day). I finally called yesterday and was told I couldn't register yet for anything in the second half of December or first part of January. Argh.

Meeting day today, but thankfully there are only two on my calendar. However, one will probably have me walking away with additional work that I have no idea how I'm going to do in the next few months given my workload already. Bah.

And finally, the "gestational diabetes" thread is working my last nerve. At first I only posted to offer a gentle nudge to participate, but the latest responses made me rage-y.
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.

  • Yeah we registered for the first Sunday in January. I figure that is 6wks before my due date and will be fine or it won't matter.

I may go ahead and register @HailsMom‌ but it stinks that I know it will change so soon. It also stinks that it is changing just in time to pay 2 deductibles. Oh well!

  • Good morning all!

DD refused to sleep last night, after waking up an hour and a half early the day before.  DH stays up with her, but the crying wakes me up out of a sound sleep and I end up awake anyway.  Time for coffee.

Are any of you noticing a slow down in class offerings in your area around holiday time?  Babies R Us has a breastfeeding class this Wednesday, but then nothing until late January.  Apparently I missed my window at the hospital and the classes don't pick up again until February.  I'm going to try to make the class tomorrow, but I am now regretting not looking into them sooner.  I assumed as a STM I would have time, but now I'm in full on panic mode.

  • @aggiebug I am going through the insurance change as well.  It brings me to tears to talk about it too much, but the bottom line is that I went ahead and preregistered with my 2014 existing insurance.

My current policy is $571 a month for JUST ME (grandfathered policy).  I will cost about $300 a month to add both babies.  I received a letter saying it was go up to $657 a month for me.  We are now at almost $1000 a month for JUST me and the babies, not to mention DH.
I live in GA, but right next to Chattanooga, TN, literally 5 miles at most from the TN border and all of my doctors are in Chattanooga. If I was to see GA doctors I would have to drive at least 30 minutes for shitty doctors and there is no decent emergency center within 30 minutes in GA.

    Three options:
    1. Use my work address to get an ACA plan in TN.
    2. Get an ACA plan in GA and pay out of network for everything.
    3. Keep the grandfathered plan and pay out the ass.

  • @willvilljill‌ when I was pregnant with DS I had a friend who started out underweight and only gained 6 lbs the whole pregnancy. She gave birth to a very healthy, 7 lbs 10 oz kid. Weight doesn't always mean healthy or unhealthy so as long as LO is healthy you're doing fine.

@sarabeller‌ my LO is transverse too.

    GL @erobbins09‌ .

Hugs @thedish0207‌. You deserve them for your hard work.

WTF is going on with the random posters (and replies) on our board?

  • @sarabeller‌ I think LO is diagonal as well. I get movement at my left hip and under my ribs on the right side at the same time. Very odd.

But it can be really hard to judge bc they spend a lot of time kinda folded with their feet in their face. I guess once they are bigger this maneuver will be much trickier.

My spam...today started off bad thanks to DD crying the entire time we were getting ready, with the exception of the 5 mins she had play dough. Of course mom was the asshole that put her shirt on so everything was dada dada dada. Which would have been fine but he is a fucking turtle getting ready so he stops what he's doing to carry her around. Well you can't carry her and put pants on!!! Again, wouldn't be a problem but his car is blocking me in so it's not like I can just leave. (It's standard so I can't drive it). Ugh. I'll console myself with my Tim Hortons bagel now

@kefttfc , not sure where you are in Georgia but please keep the snow away from Norcross!  :)   The pugs had to sweater-up for their [brief] walk this morning.  When I get up at 6:30am in a warm toasty bed, and am outside walking stubborn pugs at 6:40am in the freezing cold, I turn into an instant-grouch!
I'm glowing today because my fantasy team squeaked by with a win this week and is back in first place.  image
I'm up near Chattanooga, so don't worry!  They are just flurries anyway, but you know how we are in the south!  DH couldn't find tortillas at the grocery store last night and he said the bread aisle looked like we were planning for a giant winter storm!

  • I've been feeling simultaneous movement on both sides of my belly - I'm wondering if Pickles is transverse. Can they even be transverse this far along? (I know I can google this).

ETA: according to Spinning Babies, yes, it is possible, though by the looks of my belly, I don't think she is transverse, at least not totally. Maybe she's at a diagonal.
me too!  I keep feeling really sharp pain/pressure on the sides of my stomach like she is stretching straight out, and I never felt that with DS.  I wonder if she is transverse

  • Sleepy this morning but it was my own fault. The new Dragon Age game went live at midnight last night and even though I said I'd only play for an hour I ended up until 3am. And no matter what if I wake up when my husband gets ready for work I can't get back to sleep. Oh well, it was worth it. DH was very sweet about me staying up last night, telling me to stay up as late as I wanted to play (I've been excited for this game for the past year) and jokingly saying that he'd see me when he got up for work.

In other news, we have our hospital tour this afternoon. Also I found a small painful bump right where my boob and armpit meet. Thankfully Googling this actually lessened my worry and said it was most likely a gland flaring up or an ingrown hair. I'll just mention it to my OB at my appt tomorrow. Anyone else have anything similar?

  • @willvilljill I'm in the same boat, people keep telling me my face looks thinner and I feel like my legs have gotten thinner (though that could be by comparison to my belly, haha) and my doctor didn't seem concerned. I lost 2 pounds between my first appointment and my second, and I've only gained those back and she actually seemed pleased that I was on track to gain my goal weight of 15 pounds. Like PP have said, it's probably due to consciously eating healthier for the LO and I feel like I can't eat as much as I used to. Someone told me that carrying a boy burns more calories than carrying a girl, but who knows!

I'm anxious for this afternoon. I have my appointment with the specialist I was referred to for LO's echogenic bowel. I REALLY hope she signs off on my case and puts me back with the normal rotation of doctors because I really just...don't care for her. She's very pushy, and very rude. Because of my tattoos (which she mentions in EVERY report) she made me get extra testing done like I was some sort of disease fun bag. Of course everything came back negative because I only get tattooed at reputable shops by reputable artists. I also hope she has some reasoning for the echogenic bowel after the huge blood panel they ran on me. FX we can just move on from this scare, I'd like to eliminate some stress from my life right now.

  • @erobbins09 Aw poor thing! Our dogs LOVEEE the snow but we have to force them to come in because they will literally play until their toes fall off, I swear. They do appreciate the extra time with us inside though :)

  • Ladies I did not get the job. :(( I really wanted it too. Oh well when one door closes another opens. Right?

@kefttsc‌ I think my LO is sideways too because all I feel are kicks on my side and see the movements on my sides
  • @mrdcle‌ I'm so sorry you are dealing with this... I didn't realize it was so bad :/ any chance you have email/written correspondence of your boss telling you to prioritize the project? May be worth bringing it in to the meeting and saying based on that you made the choices you did but now you realize moving forward you'd be better at prioritizing/time management (which is my downfall..)

Anyway.. I'm sorry lady that's the worst. Fx things work out the way they are supposed to.

  • Morning ladies.
@willvilljill‌ I swear some weeks I'm down a ton then I'm up a bunch. Could be water weight, poop weight and other factors too. My weight fluctuates like 5-10 lbs around my period so I think it's kinda the same thing for me.

@mishka29 sorry your having a rough day. What kind of bagel you get to console yourself? I'm thinking maple french toast

I'm laying in bed. Do not want to get up. I love sleep, this whole newborn stage is gonna hit me hard I think lol but my crazy coworker
Is away so it's gonna be a faaaaaantastic day!
  • @ckimberley14‌ is this like, a box mix? Or a recipe? I need in on these brownies.

Definitely a box mix. ;) I think I've made from-scratch brownies maybe twice ever. I use raw coconut oil instead of vegetable oil.

@crystalw88‌ eh I don't know how in-depth I went on here. I had a HUGE project that took up probably 90% of my time for the whole summer, including me taking work home and working an extra 4 hours some nights. I got extra work dumped on me for this project my other departments but since this project was such a huge deal for the company I obviously prioritized it (not to mention my boss TELLING me to prioritize it)

So naturally some of my other duties fell by the wayside. This was also following some severe clinical depression last winter/spring and at the same time I found out I was pregnant. Just a huge shitstorm. So about a month ago he tells me I'm on review for 30 days but that the team lost faith in me and I might lose my job. Fast forward to now, it's been 30 days and I need to know if I'm losing my damn job. I'm already barely scraping by with the job so I definitely need it, not to mention needing insurance for me. Thankfully Lou can go on BFs insurance but still I'm super stressed. Haven't been sleeping or eating well. I need him to just make a decision. Ugh. Wow that was long sorry :/

Oh no, I'm so, so sorry. It's a shame your "teammates" and boss can't see these factors. You took work home, put in extra hours...you're not superwoman. My heart breaks for you. Too much stress to be dealing with outside of pregnancy. I'm really hoping your boss doesn't decide to be a dick.
