Omg I'm so happy I could cry right now. The specialist I was referred to for LO's echogenic bowel signed off on us today! He's a healthy 2 pounds 12oz and growing beautifully. This has been a scare for the past 8 weeks and I feel like such a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. As of now, I have a healthy and active baby boy. Phew.
Pro: passed by GD screening "with flying colors," was eating candy while on the phone with the nurse, so that was good.
Con: Immediately snissed in my pants at work upon hanging up. I've been thinking I need to throw a change of underwear in my purse for the past few weeks and today I'm really wishing I had.
I'm over people freaking out at us even when we're reasonable with them. Are the stars aligned just right? Is there a syzygy that's focusing all the energy of the cosmos on the board (bonus points if you get that reference)?
I hope this weirdness doesn't last all week.
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.

@kefttsc - Sorry to hear about the health issues with your mom and your sister. For what it's worth, I had two hip surgeries last year. I don't know what your sister had done, but in my first surgery I had a hip flexor release performed that increased the amount of time I was expected to be on crutches. Overall, I was on crutches for about 8 weeks for each surgery. However, after the first few weeks (maybe the first four?) I went down to using just a single crutch. By week 8 or 9 I was pretty good without any crutches at all. Everyone is different, your sister may heal faster or slower than I did, it all depends on the procedures that were done. However, as other people have said, there still may be ways your sister can help out without necessarily needing to be 100% physically. Don't cross her off the list just yet- there are still many weeks of healing for her and she might progress faster than anyone expects.

So my blood pressures is elevated I tried to call my OB but the are closed. They do not have a after hours number or answering service. Should I call labor and delivery??
The randos are totally taking over the board. I just read a few threads and was appalled.
@SSmith2409 - Your OB does not have an emergancy number? That seems unusual to me. Is there a nurse's hotline in your area? You could also go to the ER just to be safe if there are no other options open to you.

Thanks so much!
She had a lot of scar tissue removed, a torn labrum repaired, and a microfracture performed to improve cartilage growth.
Fingers crossed.

There are a couple of other hospitals in town that have after hour numbers. I have not been seen there so I wasn't sure if I should call. This is the first time I've needed to call. Isn't odd!! I'm laying on my left side hopefully it will drop.
Any one else experiencing TERRIBLE back pain ALL THE TIME? Sitting blows and I don't have the option to stand at my job... ALL I want to do is lay on my back on a hardwood floor...
I started going to the Chriopractor and feel so much better. I noticed it I sit for a long time I start to feel uncomfortable.
I had a "training" ultrasound at the tech college this afternoon. I just nearly worked myself to death getting all our school and chores done this morning so I could be gone. It was a fun ultrasound and I got some good pictures and a nice long look at the baby. I got way more info than I normally would and I loved it. My baby girl was adorable if not naughty. She has chubby cheeks, was sucking her thumb, and even had a little hair. I'm 28 weeks tomorrow but her head measured 30 weeks (they measured it 3 times). Someone order the epidural right now cuz I'm gonna need it!! I loved getting to see the baby again. I only had one ultrasound at 20 weeks and would not expect to have another unless something was is wrong. Now I'm soooooo tired. Anyone want to come make supper for 11 people? No??

That's what I do. I really don't have the energy to read through them anymore. Maybe if I have a day off and I am bored and need some entertainment.
Had a long 11 hour work day! This is the sixth day in my nine day work week. I'm exhausted, but DBF made an amazing dinner & all I plan on doing this evening is watching SOA (third season, no spoilers!!!)
I'm wading through the spam now, but I hope everyone had a great day & creepy Internet hugs for those who need them!

I sorry @foxslaw I know your pain. I think it should slow down a little soon because temps are on the rise. Let's at least hope we get a break before things get crazy.

Hopefully! BOGO almost killed us. We have had people call in too (the last two days) so I feel your pain. @paleomama
I found a black maternity pencil skirt for our family pics this Saturday. $10 at H&M. Score!
Ella fell asleep on the way home from the mall so I didn't get my nap/rest while she had quiet time in her crib. I am hella exhausted. Early night tonight for sure!
Jeaaaal! Can we see sneak peeks??
Sorry @Irishcurls I totally missed this earlier. You want a pic of the skirt or the family pics this weekend?

Yeah, I had the labrum repaired in both hips. Plus a bunch of "extras"- laxity restriction, hip flexor release, adductor release, joint reshaping. It's a very painful surgery and recovery is really hard. Encourage your sister to do her PT, movement actually helps the operated hip feel a lot better even if you don't believe it will. I had the first surgery in April 2013 and the second in Oct 2013. For the second surgery my husband and I were pros- I don't know if your sister's surgeon provided early PT recommendations, but my surgeon had us doing light hip movement 24 hours after the surgery and I was surprised how much it helped. You can't do it yourself though, someone has to physically lift your leg up and move it around for you. The motion gets the sinovial fluid moving and helps ease some of the stiffness. My husband was an angel- for both surgeries he did about 20 minutes of hip motions with me every day for about 4 weeks until I could do it on my own.
Another thing that makes a huge difference is getting in the water once the surgeon says it is OK (usually once the wound closes). Being weightless feels awesome and takes pressure off the joint. You actually feel normal again in the water moving around. It's a great morale boost.
PM me if your sister needs any advice or pointers. I didn't have the exact same thing done, but my procedures were very similar. It's very tough- physically and emotionally.
Edit- Fun fact: after you've had the labrum repaired, you are at risk of tearing it up again during labor. For that reason, my surgeon recommended for me NOT to get an epidural. He said his female patients were much more likely to re-tear the cartilage if they couldn't feel their legs. So my husband and I are very focused on trying to do everything we can to manage the labor pain without an epidural. Because I am NOT going through that surgery again. No way in hell!
Emotional overload!!! Feel free to TL,DR me. I already said today that I have a ton on my plate with this exam and moving... And working/school full time... So naturally our place is a mess. When I am stressed I can go through a total clean-freak moment where I seriously can't do anything until the house is cleaned. It's like a mental block. I'm trying hard to ignore this because I just don't have the time. This is torture.
Quickly I should add that our subleaser fell through so we are about to owe a mortgage plus rent for god knows how long. My exhusband has called about more freaking documents he needs me to sign to transfer ownership over some assets/properties that we didn't initially settle on while we waited for the market to turn around (nvm that he paid me out so don't think I am expecting any financial compensation at this point that would resolve my mortgage/rent debacle).
So yeah... FI (not meaning to be a dick) started in on the mess of our place and asking me what I am going to pack tonight while he is at basketball. I know he was speaking generally and I've been on him about packing too but for fucks sake.. He started talking and I just started going "I can't! I can't! No more today I can't!" Like a lunatic. Then I stood there leaning against the dyer because of course I'm doing laundry at the same time (the one chore that makes me want to nut-punch people just for the thrill of it... But we can thank my stressed-induced-OCD) and he came up to me and just gave me a hug and held me there and told me that we are going to be ok and everything will work out.
He just left and I decided to say eff-it to what I need to do and did a Bodyrock Baby workout because mama needs some endorphins like a mother. I'm just feeling so overwhelmed by everything since everything is snowballing into more stuff... I'm not this girl and I hate that I'm being like this! I need wine and a goddamn cigarette (oh yeah.. I don't smoke).

I am seeing a chiro for the first time ever tomorrow. I am excited. Here is hoping he can work some magic on my shoulder and sciatic pain...
They are amazing. I love going. You won't regret it.
@sugahcookie01 the first time I went to the chiro was when I was pregnant. She didn't use the electro pulse things but she did some stretches and cracks and as a crack addict I loved it!
Today after my midwife finished taking my blood pressure she made a comment that I have low blood pressure. This was news to me, probably bc when I hear the numbers I have no idea what they mean anyway. She asked if I get dizzy or light headed and mentioned that epidurals can cause BP to drop further (I didn't have one the first time around). She also mentioned its common for petite people. So before I turn to dr. Google and freak myself out, I thought I'd see what others might know about it....

STUCK
I usually have low BP too and my doctor has not mentioned it being an issue with an epidural (and he knows I will be getting a c-section).
My GP always jokes with me that low BP isn't a problem until it's 0 LOL

Yes. Nothing is comfortable. DH has been giving nightly back rubs that help, but I have found that I have to switch positions super often....
Yes except lying down on my back hurts too. I laid on the floor with Ella the other day and could barely get back up. The only comfortable position is lying flat, on my side. Driving is sooo uncomfortable. I can't believe we are only just starting the 3rd tri!
This!! I feel like I'm 90 years old every time I have to get up from playing on the floor with DDs. Sciatic pain has started to flare up more often now, too. It's going to be a long 3rd tri!
Debating whether to make this once the girls are down: cinnamon gelato brownie sandwich. I'm not sure how well the cinnamon will meld with the chocolate...
@mishka29 I have low blood pressure (mine is usually 100/70 or below) and the epidural DEFINITELY made my bp drop. I couldn't stop shaking and dry heaving. It was the most horrible feeling and totally uncontrollable. They did something to bring it back up, but I was so out of it at the time I do not rememeber what they did. Once they leveled it out though it was fine... and the epidural was heaven and let me get the sleep I needed. If you have any questions lemme know if I can help!

Maybe it is because the weight of the twins is so much, but if I am on my back for more than 5 minutes or so I am horrible nauseated. They have to do my ultrasounds with me sitting up actually!
I experienced this, too, when I was pregnant with DDs. This pregnancy, I can still lie on my back without any problems.
