I mentioned yesterday in the poll that we could have a thread for all the "patiently" waiting mommies to post.. So I figured we should test it out.. Rants, comments, questions, or what's just going on..

Thank you for starting this!!!!

I had contractions pretty regular last night. They weren't too intense though, they just felt like menstrual cramps. They literally lasted ALL night though! Even in my dreams I could feel them. Today it seems that they've pretty much completely subsided. So annoying! I went for a long walk, I've been bouncing on my yoga ball lol, and I might even try sex with DH ahhaha....

I will say that last night I got DH to press on my ankles/heels and I immediately felt contractions! Worth a try.

Anything else anyone has tried that has brought on contractions??

DH and I just went for a 3 mile walk and are now going to run errands.. I hope I get to experience come contracts from our walk.

I hope so too.. I'm not sure I've experienced any so far.. I think I may be getting baby movements confused with contractions..

I hope yours come back too! Did your DH just press on your heels? I have not heard of that one.

I haven't felt any BH or contractions yet, 38 wks and 4 days now. I'm just starting to get antsy, the thought of possibly going another month makes me feel a little crazy!

Yeah sometimes their kicks hurt! For me, contractions have always felt like intense menstrual cramps. Braxton hicks has been a tightening over my whole stomach with no pain.

Ugh, I will join this rant. I am 38w4d and was content(ish) to continue waiting. But then yesterday at 2am was woken up with contractions about 10-15 minutes apart and lots cramping and back pain. That pattern lasted til about midday and now I'm just crampy with occasional contractions. I think they are all BH that are just getting sharper; I don't think they are true labor contractions yet. This child is a tease. I was all geared up to go into labor and then kaput. I'm more comfortable today and my head is in a better place than it was last night, but the thought of weeks more of this is enough to drive me over the edge.

41w... I expected to go over since I did with my son. Next doc appt on Monday, and I know they'll be scheduling an induction at that point, just a matter of when. If my NST goes well, they'll let me go to 42 weeks. Come on baby, come on out before I have to be induced! I'm planning a med-free birth again, unsure if I can make it through pitocin contractions though.

I've been crazy nesting the past two days, walking as much as I can to try to get this kiddo out. Tonight we are having a sleepover with SD, two of her cousins, and my little brother, so I'm hoping the craziness will either distract me from wanting him out or put me into labor! There's also a snow storm coming, maybe the weather change will do something! So so uncomfortable at 38w2d.

I'm 38 weeks 3 days pregnant now, and my husband and I never expected to even make it this long, so while we are happy that LO is still growing and taking his time, the waiting game is so much harder! Not to mention the fact that I had irritable uterus for the majority of this pregnancy, sometimes with contractions coming every 2-3 minutes for hours on end, and now there is nothing!!!!

I think I'm the oddball who is content with baby staying put for a while. Don't get me wrong, I am huge and uncomfortable, but hearing birth stories on here and from my irl bump buddy about the pain and not sleeping for days...I'm enjoying life as it is right now. Soon enough everything changes.

I am 37w6d and hoping to keep this little one in another week. After that, she can come any time she pleases. (Within reason. I don't want to go to 42+ obviously!

39+5...Pretty confident Monday's going to come and go with no baby. My doctor is talking about scheduling an inducement for the 26th which is fine by me. I'd prefer to not spend Thanksgiving at the hospital but it helps there's an end in sight.

Also, fun fact! I've never had the first BH. Which depending on your POV is lucky or hateful. Not that I would like to be suffering but it'd be nice to know that something/anything is happening.

I'm 39 weeks today and just got back from a 2.5 mile walk with hubby...with a midway stop at Max Brenner for oreo and salted caramel hot cocoa--his idea

. Now I'm going to rest and then maybe try sex again, which turned out to be way more of a challenge than I had anticipated.

Last night I had several dreams about contractions and baby coming, but she's still staying put. She's very low but I just have sporadic cramps, no contractions. I really don't want to have to be induced, but it's scheduled for Nov 30th if I haven't delivered by then, due to my high fluid levels. If it weren't for the threat of induction, I'd be okay with baby staying in there.

Re: pitocin, I asked my doc about the pain and his take was that it's actually not that much more painful, it's just that most women who get pitocin haven't made it to the most painful part of contractions on their own, hence why they're getting the drug, so it's hard for them to compare the pain at 2-3cm without pitocin to the pain under pitocin at 8-9cm.

Oh, and I'm that girl rocking the flip flops with toe socks...b/c it's 35 and not even my boots fit. I look ridiculous but I just don't care

@howin23‌ I just put my flip-flops away this week because it dropped to the 20s. I have exchanged them for large, lace-up snow boots! No snow here, so I'm still unseasonably dressed, but at least I'm warm and they still fit!

40 weeks +3 days here too... I have been having Braxton hicks all day with no pain. I was unaware that I was having them prior to wednesday because I was confusing them a little bit with the babies movements. After a NST I now can tell the difference. I felt kinda stupid for not being able to tell them apart initially. But the contractions have become more frequent over the past couple days...Hoping that it means something but I know that some people have the Braxton hicks for a while...

Not so patiently waiting for LO anymore

Walked around the Mall of America today for over two hours in efforts to get things moving. Read an entire YA novel while bouncing on my birth ball. Drinking bottomless cups of RRL tea. I know that babies do better when they bake longer (but not super long), but I would love to go in for my 39 week appointment and have them tell me I have made some actual progress .

Also all this uncertainty is like torture for me because I am a huge control freak/Type A personality. I guess it is preparing me well for all the curveballs of motherhood.

I'm 40 weeks today and so ready to be done mostly because I am working until I have her. If I could go on leave early and just sit around it wouldn't be so bad. Please come out baby!!! I'm so uncomfortable.

I agree with @wildflower810 I'm not too uncomfy either but seeing all the other babies is what is making me want mine to come.

TMI-- on the bright side I thinks the walk helped cause my MP has officially made its appearance. So come on contractions!!

I'm probably one of the odd ones but I want this baby to stay put. I was having some irregular contractions last night and was praying this baby would stay put! I woke up feeling fine. I'm 38 weeks tomorrow and am scheduled for a RCS on the 24th. I like the idea of knowing when this will happen and that our plans for DS are all set. Its much easier that way!

38+6 today... I wasn't dilated at all on Thursday but I'm hoping by my Wednesday appointment I'll be dilated enough for a membrane sweep. I'm so so uncomfortable. My OB told me baby's head is super low so I'm doing a lot of walking and bouncing on my ball to try to get something happen down there. My pelvis feels broken and I can barely move once I'm sitting/lying down. I'm ready now for an outside baby.

@CarrieAnne09‌ my baby is pretty low too. The longer I sit still, the more pain I have in my pelvis! It definitely feels like it is being pulled apart!

I am done. I'm 40+1 and LO can come anytime.

I lost my MP yesterday and I haven't really been feeling any other indication that he/she is anywhere near ready to come out. The odd BH here and there. On the flip side, I feel like an old woman. Sleeping last night was near impossible. I woke up every hour to roll over (except for the hour between 2:30 and 3:30 where I couldn't get back to sleep) and rolling over is a task in and of itself. My SPD and my carpal tunnel are out. of. control.

I know I shouldn't be complaining. I'm healthy and LO is healthy but damn. I'm over pregnancy.

I have another appointment on Tuesday where they'll check me out and then if there is still no baby, they'll have me come in on Friday to discuss induction options. I really don't want to be induced, so I'm hoping LO comes before then.

Driving is the worst for me. I've got a pain that feels like my muscle under my right boob and the same spot in my back is burning. I have a 30 minute commute and it's all I can do to not cuss the whole way home/to work. I need a chauffeur...at least riding I can readjust the seat to be semi-comfortable. Just 9 days until due date and praying this baby boy comes anytime after Monday.

@BabySchroeder2014‌ and @lovebuggies1‌ - all I can say is this increased pelvic pain better mean she's making her debut soon. I've had pelvic pain for months but this is a whole new level of pain. I'm wondering if this baby's head is massive... *shudder*

I'm 38 + 4. I can't complain too much. I am really sore by the end of the day, and rolling over is a challenge, but I'm still mostly comfortable during the day. I'm still able to work without a problem, but I do rely on my husband to do almost everything around the house. I've wondered if that's why I'm doing pretty well. I can really take it easy once I get home from work.
Mentally, I'm starting to feel a little frail. I cry really easily, but I don't feel sad at all. I'm just really weepy.
I'd like to get through part of next week, just because I have a few things left to do at work.
After Wednesday and the 39th week mark, it is all fair game! I'm sure I'll be ready to complain by then.

Does anyone have the pins and needles feelings in their hands and feet when they first wake up? The feeling comes back fast but I'm just wondering in anyone has this issue.

Yes. Super annoying - in My hands especially. I've developed carpal tunnel and I can't feel my fingertips all day.

Today is my due date. No signs that baby is coming anytime soon. I had my bloody show three days ago, but I know that doesn't really mean a whole lot. I've had some cramping and back pain that come and go, but nothing to lead me to believe that labor is coming anytime soon. All in all, I'm feeling fine. I'm just eager meet my baby!

@k1911 I was the opposite, I had menstrual cramps all day and then went to bed hoping they get stronger but no such luck. They stopped.

@Ashris13 I am the same way about the babies movements. When I am cramping, I think every baby movement is a new contraction feeling. ugg

Thanks for starting this thread. I feel so much more normal with a lot of ppl going through the same symptoms as me.

38+2. I'm pretty done, except I only have 4 days left of work and my long term sub is coming in to observe for 2 of them, so I guess I should hope for at least a few more days. Baby is still SO high up - right under my ribs - no sign of coming at all. I just feel so huge, and can't tell difference between BH and movements so I don't even know if I'm feeling contractions

I'm definitely in the "ready to be done" camp. I'm so tired of throwing up and all of the groin pain, and I'm super ready for maternity leave. Oh, and I'm super whiny and emotional...my poor DH! I was being grouchy the other day, and he said "you look like you could use a hug" and then gave me one. Like the completely sane person I am right now, I burst into tears for no good reason. It's a good thing I married such an understanding guy!

So far I haven't dilated at all, and have been 50% effaced for weeks. On the bright side, LO finally dropped, and I think I may have lost my mucus plug, but other than the constant BH and some cramping, nothing seems to be happening any time soon. Sigh.

Im ready to be done with work. Im due monday and not holding my breath, ds was 2 weeks late. Im kinda feeling sad that the pregnancy is close to being over, maybe partly because of going from 1 to 2 after almost 5 years. Baby is still high, only a fingertip dialated last monday, and still long.....all i know really dont mean much. Getting a lil nervous too, though this one is just going to magically pop out. Quick and painlessly

ds was 27 hours, did 14 and to 7cm naturally. Later found out he was crooked.

EDD is today. Had contractions all day, starting at an hour apart and gradually working down to 7 minutes apart! Optimistic! They stayed that way for a full hour... And have now stopped completely.

Which is exactly what happened with DS2.

A full week before he was actually born.

Oh god I'm so uncomfortable, I don't want to face another week of this. Was really hoping this would just be IT.

@budzer‌ is it alot of fluid? Could be your water.....high leak or the head stopping it?

Id either call your dr just to run it by them or wait till the am and see. I know usually they dont want you to go over 24 hours with your water broken if it is that. If it was me, id note the time and wait till the am. But i have had no complications, strep b negative, and just know i had a long labor with ds. Plus im not your dr or know your history (sorry if its been said, my memory is crap! Lol)

TMI response: I lost part of my MP yesterday afternoon, more throughout the day today, plus the bloody show. When I feel the "gushes," I find more MP and/or bloody show when I go to the bathroom. My water broke with my oldest, and this has been way different than that. So for me, I don't think it's amniotic fluid (plus when my waters broke last time I immediately started having strong contractions, not much other than a few sporadic ones + cramping this time).

ETA: when my waters broke, it never really stopped, it was a constant flow (pretty much until I got to the hospital and didn't care anymore!) sorry again for the additional TMI...

@ budzer I hope it was your water!! I would call if I were you, it sounds like it could be something else or your water. I hope this is it for you.
