@hiketheworld i hear what you are saying. We aren't as far along as you are, but we def are trying to hold strong to the natural, no interventions, etc. But... When it comes down to it, and there is any worries about babies safety, those plans go out the window for us. My midwife said, it's mom first, baby second, and birth plan last. Your doula should be supportive no matter what decisions you end up making, it is your birth, your baby, and the decisions are all yours.
Going on our last 'trip' without a baby today. FI and I are making the journey to OKC to get Christmas shopping done. It's over 2 hours away from my hospital so I hope I don't go into labor lol but I'm excited to get a lot of walking done!
Two days til my due date, fingers crossed that baby is part of the 4% that comes on his planned day. Hope all yoh ladies are well today. @chesneybrynn enjoy your shopping, maybe it'll be the kick start needed for labor, after you're finished (of course).
@hiketheworld don't build yourself up for failure, and don't feel pressure to meet someone else's standards!!
My mom was exactly two weeks late with me, and she really wanted to avoid any medical induction. At 42 weeks, they had to break her water, but didn't start medication. 4 hours later, med free, I burst into the world (singing showtunes!)
My current birth plan is "listen to doctors and get baby out safely." For a perpetual over-planner, that's terrifying, BUT, I figure it gives me the smallest chance of disappointment!!
@KUinCBUS yes! Your pregnancy brain is good! I think I'm the only N14er that would NOT want to go into labor on that day!
She is having her feeding tube removed. She is doing well. She's had it for as long as she can remember and is a little nervous about not having it anymore. It's pretty much always been a part of her so she's kind of got a weird mourning process going on about it. Thanks for asking!
ETA the hospitals are down the street from each other. Her surgery is only supposed to last about 20 minutes and is out patient. My MIL is ready to jump in somewhere if we need her, but I'm praying it doesn't come to that!
Awww boo!! I was really pulling for you yesterday @CarrieAnne09. Hang in there at least you are having contractions, that is definitely progress!
Thanks!! I'm due tomorrow so she has two days to get her act together and gtfo last night they were so intense I was in so much pain I really thought it was turning into something. But the good news is that at times they're more painful than the last round. Even if they aren't super consistent.
@runnershan I feel you. I don't want to share anything either only child problems. 10 years is a good long chunk of husband-wife time though! So that's good.
Does anyone know if LO is able to move during contractions? I think I may be having some but occasionally she is moving during them which is making me second guess that they are actually contractions.
@Ashris13 yes they can move during contractions although I think they don't tend to move as much because they are a little restricted and I don't feel the movement quite as much during a really good contraction because all that pain is a little distracting in my opinion.
I'm in the same boat. Some painful contractions that went no where but kept me up most of the night. So ready to be done.
If Little Girl doesn't come tomorrow I'm being induced on Monday. Really don't want to be induced but with Thanksgiving next week my dr doesn't feel comfortable letting me go past Monday.
My contractions have been CRAZY! Nothing regular but my belly will seize up between 5-8 minutes sometimes. MW says nothing out of the ordinary...but. >.< ~"phew!" I havent had anything exciting since the pre-labor contractions on tuesday night. Midwife says anytime...but things are pretty uneventful today. Come on moon!
Sooo according to my phone (which prolly isn't accurate) I've walked over 10,000 steps today which is about 8,000 more than a normal day. Maybe this will jump start labor tonight got all the Christmas shopping done and watched Mockingjay. Been a good day (;
Hope everyone's contractions turn into something! I'm going to try and nap on our way home (:
Well had about 3 hours of contractions but they were not painful enough to go in.. They have stopped but at least I've had contractions now!! FX for tomorrow!! Come on Ellie tomorrow is a perfect day for a birthday!
Welcomed our beautiful baby girl by way of c-section at nine days past due after some heart rate decelerations during a routine visit on November 19th at 9:43 p.m. She came into the world at 8 pounds, 7 ounces and 21.5 inches long. It wasn't the way I was hoping for, but her health and safety is the most important thing. It's hard to believe that my husband and I were capable of making something so beautiful and perfect.
Anyway, hopes and prayers to all you mommas for safe deliveries. And fingers crossed that they're soon. For all you first-time mommas (like me), "love" isn't a strong enough word.

Well no sleep for me. All day I have been kind of worried because LO wasn't moving as much and now he/she is having a wiggle frenzy. It's getting so uncomfortable! I am also currently playing the game of gas or contractions and losing terribly! I always dread the nighttime due to pain and insomnia.
Now that I am done with work, I am not in as big of a hurry for baby to come out. DH and I have tickets for Mockingjay tomorrow, so I would at least like the baby to wait until after we watch it!
@snarkylibrarian well I hope the gas/contractions subside and you get some rest! I really wanted to see MockingJay but I am so uncomfortable just sitting I did both think i could make it. I hope you he to enjoy the movie!
Congratulations to you ladies that are now evicted from this thread! :I'm jealous of you both and your getting to cuddle your sweet new LOs :-)
I really want to see Mockingjay too. My husband even told me he'd take me tomorrow, but we took my daughter to see Big Hero 6 a couple weeks ago and like @Ashris13 said I'm just too uncomfortable. Hope you all get a contraction/sleep break tonight and enjoy the movie!
I last saw a movie (in the theatre) two weeks ago, and I was so uncomfortable I couldn't focus. No Mockingjay for me. If the theatre had a couch, however...
So I'm skipping my induction on Monday!!! After a full day, Saturday of BH, my water broke at 6pm on Saturday night! I'm in the hospital now, playing a new type of waiting game Come on body, let's get this whole dilating thing going!!!!
39 weeks 5 days- lots of cramping on Friday and nothing much since. Still no MP. Baby is not very active which is not helping me go back to sleep after being awake since 3am.
I'm feeling so defeated.. After going thru IF, a MC, and now being over 40 weeks pregnant i'm feeling like my body has failed.. All eyes are on me and they say a pot of water never boils while you're watching but I feel like nobody ever turn on the burner for me. Even if I do go into any type of labor induced or noti feel like I'm still not going to end up with a baby on the other side. I just don't see how this is going to work out in my favor. I think the fear has officially overtaken the joy in this whole situation for me.
Sorry to be such a downer today girls. I'm off to church. I think I just needed to get that out.
There's a movie theater nearby that has a VIP section with reserved extra large leather seating and lots of leg room, so we decided we could wait until Sunday to see the movie and splurge on the comfy seats. Otherwise I might not make it! The last time I saw a movie, it was only 90 minutes and I was counting down the time.
@ashris13 *hugs* You WILL end up with a baby for sure. Sorry you've been through so much, that sounds like it makes it even harder for you to believe in good things happening, but before you know it your LO will be in your arms and the wait will be over.
@AlliJeee Yay! I hope you have safe delivery and I can't wait to see your squishy beautiful baby!
Due date today. Was so hoping I would wake up in labor last night. No such luck. No contractions anywhere in sight. I just really want to deliver before my Dr goes out of town this week. If I don't deliver this week she'll induce next week and I really don't want to be induced. I know my body can do this I just wish it and the LO would get on board. I have a butt very firmly planted on my right side today. Thus LO will just not drop and stay there. I am hoping and praying it isn't trying to change positions. Sorry for all the complaining. I'm just ready for an outside baby and to become a family of 4.
