Have had contractions all day today! Take a nap, they vanish. Up again, oh hello cramping. Make up your mind already body, this baby is going to have to come out one way or another! Dr appt tomorrow I will update then. Have had lots more cramping compared to last week, and I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. Fx'd that our false labor is serving good purpose and it means shorter labors for us all!!

You all need to go to a TCM doctor.  I get more entertaining info out of her than out of my midwives.  

Examples.

3 weeks ago:  She checked my pulse and noted my squealy reactions to the insertion of the acupuncture needles and said.  "You will not make it to 39 weeks."

2 weeks ago:  I was even squealier.  Ditto the above.

Last week:  She took one look at my face and said.  "You will have your baby on -- or very close to -- the New Moon."  (Which is this Saturday, November 22nd.)

Today:  "I checked your astrological chart.  You were born on the day of the Fire Monkey.  This Friday is a Fire Monkey day.  Which means a major shake up in the lives of your children.  If you don't have the baby Friday, you will at least be in labour and have the baby on Saturday (New Moon day).  

I told her as long as it wasn't tomorrow, I would be fine.  That I have the beloved carpet cleaners coming.  She asked if I told my baby that.  I said "Yes".  She said "She will listen.  She is hanging on for your sake.  What are you doing Friday morning?"   I mentioned a chiro appointment and dim sum with a friend.  She said, "I think you will be cancelling."   I told her I was sad that I might not make it to dim sum.  She said "That is a bid sad, isn't it?"

These tidbits are waaaaaaaaay more fun that checking undies for MP and timing contractions....   

And if she is wrong?  So what.  It has entertained me.  And she keeps me healthy.  I sleep at night, I am going to the loo again, I have energy during the day, and today?  SHE CLEARED MY SINUSES.  Breathing was getting tough - especially at night.  And, well, I like breathing.   But I felt them open up about half way through my appointment.

So...  my point?   after your cupcake-filled pity parties, find out what Chinese day you were born, then see when that day is coming up...  maybe such a prediction might entertain you, too.    :P

I'm still pregnant too lol. My MIL has decided the moon change will do it which would be fine since I'm due Sunday. I have decided that the LO will decide it's time while I'm eating Thanksgiving dinner )

@moroccojade‌ Just hearing she's cleared your sinuses make me want to find a TCM dr. My allergies are always terrible in the fall but with pregnancy on top of that I can't remember the last time I could breath out of both nostrils.

See!  There are a lot of people that believe in that New Moon thing...  

It was pretty cool today...   she just put one extra needle on my hairline... and two on either side of my nose...   and she said "Your sinuses will open before you leave today."   And I'll be damned.  around 15 minutes with the needles in, things started crackling up in there.  And I can breeeeeeeeeeeathe!

And if her crazy predictions about me going into labour are wrong she will "induce" me at 40w2d.  (It worked last time!)

My mom is also convinced that I'm going into labour Saturday night due to the moon. lol I'm fine with that - due Saturday.

@moroccojade‌ - I love that kind of stuff! I don't believe it 100%, but I enjoy listening to it and talking about it. It helps me avoid taking things too seriously. I tend to try to control things when I get anxious, and it's always good to be reminded that there are other more healthful approaches.

I don't believe it 100% either...   (Maybe about 50% at the very most... probably based more on the physical reasons rather than the astrological ones.)  But it has still been fun to listen to her.  At least her guesses are based on "something".  

I am just glad she isn't saying "Pffffffffffffft.  This baby will be born in 2015."

Still have an inside baby too, but I still have 9 days until my due date.  I felt crampy today so hoping that is a good sign.  I have my next appointment Friday, on my 39 week day.  Hoping for a membrane sweep that day and for the baby to come this weekend or early next week.  The OB won't let me go past my due date so here's hoping we are home from the hospital before Thanksgiving.

38+6 today. Husband told me I need to learn this thing called "patience" and that DS will arrive when he's good and ready. Just can't wait to hold my little man in my arms!

Been cramping on and off all day that I can't even tell the difference between the cramps and contractions. I actually would love it if my water broke so then I'd know for sure its go time!

Well in officially 3 cm and 100% effaced and VERY low. She offered to induce me tomorrow, but I did not want to leave you guys yet! She said it should be any moment and that she doesn't see anything stopping her.

Next appointment is Monday and we will do a NST and a Sono and go from there! Getting really excited!

I can't tell the difference either. Sometimes it feels like gas and other times I'm like.. I don't think that is gas, but I have no idea. Sooo I'm just sitting right until they get regular or December 2nd lol

I could have written this myself! I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow and am having a hard time distinguishing between the cramps and contractions! I'm definitely starting to dilate though, so I know I'm progressing!

Probably not me! 40 &3 today too but after my sweep monday im not holding my breath. I was long and only about 1 cm because she made me. Lo is comfy and taking after its brother!

I will also take one for the team.  officially 41 weeks today.  Started losing MP yesterday still losing pieces today.   I'm hopeful but not holding my breath.   I had lots of BH... but nothing measurable. I have an US and NST today.  We'll see....

I wished for the exact same thing for my appointment yesterday! Lol hope yours comes true.

My MIL (who I love, but really my patience is being a bit stretched on day 5 of pre-labor/false labor/bs) said something really close to this.  "Just be patient, she just wants to snuggle longer, you aren't even to your due date yet."  I know she was trying to be helpful and she is so sweet, but my scary demon rage almost came out as I choked back really unkind responses.  I need to have this baby soon because I am just not nice anymore!

@moroccojade How does one figure out their Chinese birth day?  This was indeed entertaining but a bit confusing.  I am a Green Rat according to one calculator, and there is a Wood Rat coming up on the 25th, but I'm not sure if that is the same thing?  Or do I need another Green animal?  Because today is a Green Sheep day and today would be fabulous for me

As much as I can't wait... the local theater is having an 8:00 showing of Mockingjay tonight that we'd really like to go see before this kid comes out.  Maybe the cliff hanger end of the movie will start labor!

Random pregnancy dream: yesterday at the dr she told me she doesn't want me going over 41 weeks cause it puts me at risk for a large baby which is fine by me, the sooner the better, anyways I had a dream last night I wasn't ever induced and had the baby at 45 weeks and he was 12 lbs and healthy. He was HUGE like the size of a 2 year old. He didn't have a front facing car seat when he came home, and some type of crain thing dropped him off at our front porch a few times lol so weird

I don't think I've cried or been very hormonal this entire pregnancy except the occasional tear at a sappy movie moment or something...  

then MIL texted me this morning "So how we feeling?" and I lost it.  Like hyperventilating can't control myself crying.  I know she, and the 235809 other people who ask every hour on the hour truly mean well, but FFS let me try to enjoy the last days of being pregnant because it probably isn't going to happen again.  I can't make him come out, and I'm not trying to rush it.

Unless its December.  Then I might lose my mind.  But right now, today, can't I just be happy with things the way they are?

Along the same lines... So if my birthday is Friday does that just mean that she will come on Friday regardless of my Chinese birthday and animal and color?

@WildFlower810 I think that is where I messed up.  I had a check and a membrane sweep and shared with several people that I was 3cm - exciting because I was stuck at 2 for most of labor with DD and I feel accomplished.  But I haven't progressed at all since then.

Got really excited yesterday evening. I started feeling nauseous, having lots of pelvic pressure and the occasional contraction. Just knew I was going to wake up in labor. Nope still pregnant. In a bright note I completely forgot Mockingjay comes out this weekend. No baby = the movies!

And as much as I laughed at this yesterday, I woke up at 3 am with some pretty considerable contractions.  I slept on and off till 5 am.  Then started timing.  4 minutes apart.  lasting a minute.  And they aren't feeling nice.  

5 hours later they are still 4-6 minutes apart.  Been busy cleaning in between them and getting ready for God knows what.  DH took our daughter to school.  I wouldn't want to drive too far with these things.   

I hope this doesn't continue for a week....   I'll be exhausted.  There is no sleeping through this type of contraction.

GL to everyone today and as the weekend approaches!  Ugh here comes another one.  ::::moans::::

Woke up with some good >.< contractions but slowed to about 45 min apart. Then nothing.... MW says to rest the next few days. Trying not to get too excited....

Rest is good.    Especially if you are getting 2 minute contractions!  Even if they are far-ish apart that doesn't sound like fun!

And I would be more than happy if these slowed to nothing.  I could use a few more days to mentally and emotionally prepare for all of this.  (I admit I sobbed yesterday afternoon before anyone came home.  My last pregnancy coming to an end has been rough.)

Sooooooooo, still at 2 cm. Fluid levels look good and everything looked good on the NST. Baby is not going anywhere. 26th it is then! Hopefully by this time next week I'll have a baby!
