So I was about to post in Thursday's bitchfest last night because my husband was super late coming home. He went out with some friends (he has a small business with them, but I guarantee this was more of a social get-together), and promised me that he "wouldn't be late." Well by the time it was 9pm, I was pissed, AND his phone was dead. As I was about to post on here, I got a phone call from a number that I don't recognize. It was him, and our car had been hit while parked (someone left a note, thank god), and I had to put our sleeping baby into a car seat and drive 20 minutes to get his ass. Then we were there until about midnight getting it towed, the claim filed, blah blah blah.
And I LOVE our car. He insisted on taking that car to work and out yesterday (which I won't let him live down for a while). Some backstory: last year when we knew that a family wasn't far off, we traded in my car (my beautiful lime green mustang that I loved) to get a sedan, but we're both car obsessed. I've always loved German cars, and I totally thought that this car was out of our league, but we got a great deal on a used 2013 Mercedes Benz C300 (black, of course). I was so happy that this car would last us for many years to come and be a super safe car for the family. Well last night it got smashed by a FIRE TRUCK. Wtf?!?!?!? Now we're dealing with the headache of insurance and police reports and rental cars. I just want to cry... again.
I've had my share of accidents, and I've been pretty spoiled with nice vehicles since my dad is obsessed with cars as well. I drove a purple mustang in high school/college ('96), then a shitty 1986 Accord when insurance dropped me for accidents hah (nicknamed put-put), then the green mustang ('06), now we have an Xterra and the Benz.
What do you guys drive? Any good car stories?
Re: Cars (Nbr)
Sorry you have to deal with all this that sucks!!!
ETA: I drive a 2003 Toyota 4Runner that we love to death and my husband has a 2004 Chevy Colorado that is ok (we had go trade in his 2002 Toyota Tacoma due to needing space for a car seat. Wish we could have gotten another Tacoma)
Baby Boy due October 2017
Nice cars... I will never have one.
We drive a 2004 Chevy Cavalier, which we honestly totally love and want another, and our second car is a 1997 Geo Metro which my mother is currently using, so we have her 2007 Chevy Aveo.
Sorry for your car troubles though, ours were in and out of the shop most of last winter, so I can sympathize about missing your car. Sucks to deal with the insurance crap too!

DH has a nice 2012 four door Ford F150 that is more our family car that we use when we all go somewhere. He is on the road a tremendous amount for work and is the one that needs the more comfortable and reliable car right now.
DH also has a 2004 Mach 1 Mustang. ...that is all souped up with a supercharger and other stuff I know nothing about...and I am terrified to drive it :-P If we sell it, LOs prepaid college will be completely funded....so hopefully that is in the works soon!
We recently bought a higher mileage 2011 Cadillac SRX turbo which I LOVE. It's *by far* the nicest car I've ever owned. Its AWD which is important (lots of snow and ice 9 months out of the year here) and it had all the bells and whistles (I still haven't even tried figuring out all the crap in that car). The turbo is nice because according to reviews the SRX without the turbo is very sluggish because its a heavier cross-over type vehicle. We plan to drive this car until it DIES.
H drives a 2012 F150 - its his company vehicle (he owns his company so he uses it as his personal vehicle as well) - but since he works in the oilfield that truck already has like 90,000 miles on it (he got it new) and is not in the best condition.

I love the snark on my "black, of course" comment. It's because you often see Mercedes (and BMWs and Audis) in black. It's lovingly referred to as German black. That is all.
My car story? I got rear ended in my fusion 3 days after I bought it. It didn't even have 100 miles on it And then 2 months later someone hit the rear door when they were trying to park, didn't leave a note, and drove off. The worst part is it was at work, and if I had noticed it sooner, I could have filed a report or tracked down who did it. (The building I was at the day had a very limited amount of individuals that parked there, so I wish I had noticed before I left, so I could have confronted the staff). Also, my deductible is about the same as the cost to repair the dent.. and I don't care to pay it, so my rear door has been slightly dented for going on 2 years.
Omg that's terrible!!!
