My H has a job interview today and is having anxiety over it. He's been so depressed since he lost his job at the end of Sept. I really hope everything goes well for him today.
thanks @empirerecords24. We've tried several different outlets to help him. We've got those calming treats, similar to the collar you described, but he was so wiped out all day, I felt like we'd drugged him. The collar seems to help, but it's hard to tell because he doesn't bark excessively when we are home. I know we could leave him inside, but my DH and I both morally have a hard time with that since we are gone for a long time during the day.
Happy Birthday @jessuhmarie! Fellow Guy Fawkes baby.
GL to everyone with appointments!
Today is my birthday, and the only thing I plan to do until D gets home is finish my Java homework and play video games. Then Melting Pot! SO EXCITE! I'm going to miss having a mojito (or three), but the cheese will console me. Mmm...cheese.
I don't see the issue with keeping the dog inside all day? We don't have a fence so we have no choice. We keep her in the kitchen with her bed, bone and a bunch of toys. I also don't work full time so she doesn't spend all day alone on a regular basis so that's a difference. However she was fine last summer when h and I both worked full time.
If my neighbors dog was barking all.day.long outside Id be pissed and would also file a complaint. The dog is obviously miserable being alone outside all day. Is the dog happier inside?
Oh my goodness starving! ! 830pm and the delivery places all take 2+hrs at the moment. - Update! Food got here! Ended up ordering bagel sandwiches (yeah, 2!) and they were SO good! (So I guess it's been an hour since I started this post! )
I might have felt baby kick (from the outside) last night for the first time, too! I told hubby who was lying next to me and he ended up with his hand on my belly the rest of the night, lol! (He claims he might have felt her once, just after I did).
How does everyone know everyone's birthday? Is it a Facebook thing? (That's how I keep track of bdays, lol!). Or does the website list it somewhere?
@MauiBliss That's pretty funny! I probably would have been that type of girl. I said some pretty mean things to my mom around 12-13. I still feel bad about making her cry back then. She was always 'I hope you have a daughter someday' ... that was her big threat ... back then, I just laughed, now I hope and pray I don't have a daughter like I was, haha! (Luckily, we, be had a pretty good relationship, through it all, though)
@JM0848 Your cousin must have had an amazing experience! We don't get a maid here from my husband's company (that would be awesome!) but every villa comes with a maid's quarters on the third floor. Most people do live-in maids since they are so relatively inexpensive here. Regarding French, a friend here has a one year old. She just got here as well, and her and her husband both work (she's from Australia and had a year of maternity leave, basically ... unpaid, but job security). So they found a nursery and went with a French Nursery! I went with her one morning and it's pretty amazing! But they don't speak any English to the babies/kids. It's totally french. They don't even speak French, haha! But are hoping she'll learn and have an ear for it. Good luck on your glucose test, tomorrow!
@kcbizme That's so exciting! Congrats to you and your H!
@babys2014 Which stroller are you going with? That is still giving me a headache, to make that decision.
@WAMOM So glad thay your hubby can finally go back to work and you guys can save.
@mommyofkaylin Good luck at your interview today! Sorry about your dog. We had to resort to that with our dog. It didn't take her very long to learn not to bark. Then she stays quiet most of the time. If she starts it up again, we might leave it on her for a day. But you might not have to leave it on for a long term thing. (But then again, you might need to. All dogs are different). @MauiBliss and @EmpireRecords24 bring up a great point about trying the dog inside where he might calm down. Just beware of destructive behavior. But that might be a great solution, to try.
@EmpireRecords24 I loved your idea about putting the day of the week randoms in title. I'm on a completely different time zone now and trying to figure it out is tough.
@stepherly Good luck to your Husband! Hope he gets the job.
@goofygoff Happy Birthday!! :O) Which video games? And, YUM to Melting pot!
@mommyofkaylin I agree you should keep the dog indoors. It might be more rough at first because its a new routine but your dog will get it. And if he wont stop barking, atleast the house will help block that noise out. I dont blame who ever filed the complaint because if I worked from home and heard a dog bark all day I'd probably lose my mind. I also strongly suggest you keep tabs on who you try to call about your dog and when. I have such a sore spot for people who cant return phone calls/ emails.
Happy birthday @goofygoff! I love the Melting Pot! I'm so jelly.
@mandi195 TBH, your gif kind of freaks me out, especially the hole for some reason. But I still think it's kind of funny and don't think you should take it down.
Sooo, I'm back from my appointment. Baby was being bashful, had her legs crossed and both arms in front of her face like she didn't want to have her picture taken. But they still got all the measurements they needed and everything looks good. Also, I got the green light for a VBAC. YAY! <:-P
Another random. I really want to buy the Jack Spade wool jacket from Gap for DS but I need to be practical.
Hope that link works. It is truly hilarious (and also at times really mean... I could never do it), but I was reminded of it reading the title page. I really hope my kids never react to disappointment by throwing chairs and other household items...
Just got back from going to a consignment shop on lunch and was able to score a Moby wrap and 2 SwaddleMe sleepsacks for $33 total. Woohoo!
Yay! I love consignment shopping!
I stopped by one today too, after I left the dr's office and got DS a Baby Gap sweater (looked almost brand new), a book, and a Yo Gabba Gabba DVD set for $12 total.
Waiting at the dr office right now for my anatomy scan. I'm so excited to see my little girl again. Also, I really need to get some fall maternity clothes soon but I've held off because the weather won't make up its mind here in Florida.
No real link to music or movie here ... but I'm just over the expat children running around like free range chickens in the compound. They don't show respect. Treat their maids (yes, everyone here has one ... mostly live in nannies if they have kids) like shit. I'm seeing the future of tomorrow grow up in a place with no rules and no control and hope that those kids learn that that won't fly as well when they go home and have a change of lifestyle.
Anyhow, hubby and I are in big agreement to try to avoid spoiled brat behavior.
This. I could write a book on this. I work in an elementary school and the entitlement drives me insane! All these kids may grow up to be jerks, but both of mine WILL NOT! I refuse.
Just stopping in to say hello! And also that I'm back. I've been gone for a couple of weeks. Work and personal life have gotten a bit crazy as of late, but I think I'll be able to start getting back in to my normal daily bumping routine! I miss everyone on here and reading everything all of the time. I honestly haven't even been reading much lately.
Can't wait to catch up. I'll be doing that tomorrow - today I can't seem to concentrate on anything.
We had to put one of our dogs down last night (I got him when I was 17, but he stayed with my mum after I moved out). It was the first time I was there to put a dog down and I'm having a really hard time with it today. I've just been crying on and off constantly since last night. Ugh. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

I gave it up last night. You're welcome DH.
This is how I feel a lot. I'm never in the mood and he's like a 13 year old boy who just hit puberty.
So my son's school about gave me a heart attack today. I got a call from the office saying that if they didn't have his shot record up to date by Friday he couldn't come back to school the following week.
The letter that was sent home to me indicated he was missing like 3 shots, two which were vaccine s with multiple doses. I admit I goofed up and assumed he was just missing shots he received when he turned 1 when we lived in Hawaii but after looking at the copy of the shot record the school sent home, I noticed a whole page was missing from the record! I called the nurse and asked her if she had the complete record because I know I turned in a complete record and I knew he was up to date or the daycare he last attended would have let me know otherwise. She said what she sent home was all she had. I decided to stop by the school office when I picked my son up today to make sure I hadn't accidentally turned in an incomplete record. The secretary looked and showed a shot record with only 2 pages. Just as I was about to call the Dr's office for another copy, she says wait, I found another page stuck behind all these papers! They had given the school nurse only 2 pages of the shot record and there on the missing page were all the missing immunizations! I'm so glad I decided to stop by the office to check with them. Everything is all straightened out now thank goodness!
I'm so sorry @sjep922 : ( my heart goes out to you. Try to remember all the good times.
So I was reading the social media thread a minute ago and I realized that I never "announced" anything. I'm usually a pretty private person and I've been just showing up places pregnant and alarming the hell out of people. Should I do some kind of actual announcement, though? If I don't will people think I was trying to hide it? I'm all about the least amount of drama and fuss possible in my life but now I'm starting to wonder if I kicked myself in the ass on this one. Thoughts?
@sjep922( im so sorry sweet mama! Losing a fur buddy sucks. We lost me and DHs first dog together last month, and I feel like im still grieving. I hope you feel better soon
Thanks everyone for the hugs and the thoughts! I really appreciate it. They really are family and it will just take some time for healing. DH and I still have our 2 dogs and my mum still have 1 more, so we still have a lot of furry friend love that's for sure!
@Darbie914 I find that is when I start crying the most... when I replay last night in my head. I was petting him while it happened and my H, mum and dad were all in the room also. I really truly feel like he knew we were there for him and knew how much we love him. I have always heard that animals know and I agree 100%. No matter how hard it was to leave him when all was said and done, he isn't in pain any more and he lived a good long life. I really am glad that we were able to be there with and for him. Thank you!
With my 2nd I was the 13 yr old boy. Kinkiest the better and I couldn't get enough. This one I told my hubby to keep his penis away from me. I recommended him to get reacquainted with Rosie and her 5 sisters lol.
God bless him. I know he doesn't expect sex etc, but it is a sacrifice he is making too. So sympathetic pats to him on occasion.
OMG SO will periodically tell me jokingly that he cheated on me today and ask me if I know who with. Rosie palm and her five friends. It cracks him up every time.
So my random is that im a little sad because you know forever i have always been so excited to be pregnant and be able to take those weekly bump pictures and have those as a memory and such but i have completly failed at that and now it's a little late at 21 weeks. I mean i tried kinda at the beginning but i was a little bit of a late bloomer and didn't even get a noticeable bump until prob week 18 which is why i think i just didn't do it. I even tried the monthly ones and failed at that so expect for my random HDBD pics for the weeks i participate i won't have anything meh. SO and i are planning on getting some maternity pics professionally done when Its closer to March so i will have that i guess but I'm just sad i missed out.
March 15' January Siggy Callenge: Animals Being Jerks
Today is the first day I can't fit into pre-pregnancy clothes. I've been wearing maternity pants for awhile now because they're amazing. I went to wear shorts today, for some reason it's 85 here today, and had to get out the extra hair bands.

Start now. You'll be amazed how much you will change from now to the end of pregnancy.
@DragonflyDreaming I spent a good chunk of the day play The Old Republic. 12x XP FTW! But I'm really just counting to Dragon Age in a couple of weeks. *geekasm*
I wanted to say thanks to everyone for your comments. I haven't gotten a chance to reply back, today has been crazy, but all the suggestions about my dogs barking has been great. I honestly wasn't even aware his barking was as bad as it was and I def don't blame anyone for making a complaint. I'm just trying to figure out the best strategy to make everyone, including my dog, happy. Btw the guy from the town never called me back and I called three times to follow up. So I'll def be recording that.
