Today was my birthday, DH did absolutely nothing special for it. I went to a swim meet with him for work, then Costco and then we had a roast dinner. I don't even like roast dinner that much. Is it too much to ask to be made to feel a little bit special or appreciated on my birthday?
And @Emmagk I'm sorry your birthday was a let down. That really sucks . I would be pissed at my DH if he didn't even attempt anything for my birthday. Did you say anything to him? And, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
I just said something to him and hour stormed of in a huff
Boo.. ours too. Are you putting anything on it besides diaper cream? She's on antibiotics from an ear infection- guess that's common?
Lotrimin has always worked really well for my kiddos for yeast, fyi.
Thanks. Daycare let me know about it yesterday so I was worried but I don't think it looks too bad. Using desitin but will get to the store for lotrimin
So I sent DH to the store for lotrimin and he about had a panic attack looking for it. He left CVS because he couldn't find it in the baby aisle. So then he went to Wallgreens and finally asked a sales person for help. He was so embarrassed buying the Lotrimin because it said 'Cures Jock Itch' really big. He was so flustered that he forgot all of the other things he was supposed to get! All the while he's sending me text message updates and I'm dying- trying so hard not to laugh bc DD was sleeping on me. Men! )
Mother of god we were up at 445 with the time change and DS wanted to go down at 445pm.. So we struggled to keep him up with a long bath and then put him down at 545. F u time change! That means we will be up at 445 again I'm sure!
@apinkpelican haha! That's too funny! I buy the generic lotrimin and it just says "jock itch cream." I even send it to daycare. They look at me a little funny, but oh well!

I don't know if I can blame the time change for this, but I'm going to anyway. DD woke up at 1:30 (pre-time change) and there was no going back to sleep, despite eating twice and trying all the usual tricks. At 4 (the old 5) I woke up DH and told him it was time for Daddy duty. At 6:30 he brought her back to me to eat again, and she finally slept.
Of course, it was the one night Dh and I stayed up late, too. Between sleep deprivation, mastitis, and a cranky overtired DD, I cannot wait for this day to be over.
Ok we did better this morning! DS slept until 6! I'm hoping we can work back up to 630 or 7 but with it getting lighter earlier I don't see that happening!
I was totally unprepared for the mommy guilt that comes with parenthood. DS has been hysterically crying at the littlest things since yesterday. He is normally a very happy baby but I think the time change messed with him. I felt so guilty leaving him this morning. I basically feel guilty whenever I'm not with him even though I need to go to work or need a break and know logically that he's being well taken care of and probably doesn't even notice I'm not there.
I hate that I feel that way! DD is staying with my parents saturday night because we are having friends over. I know she will have a great time and be well taken care of and I still feel bad! You are definately not alone.
This happened for me today but with scooting backwards. I went to put away the laundry I'd been folding, and came back about 60 seconds later. She was about five feet back from where she'd started, looking rather startled and quite pleased with herself. I've seen her scoot back like that maybe a foot or so in her crib or on the playmat, but I have no idea how she got that far that fast.
The package of Bob Evans mashed potatoes that I ate for dinner tonight (after getting home at 8pm) says it serves 4-5 people. I ate half and am considering polishing it off. IDGAF
I have nothing for 'Neon' day at daycare tomorrow and feel guilty. She's not ever 6 mos! I can picture the day I'm running to Target at 10 o clock at night for stupid crap like this.
DH and I have been practicing with DD to crawl by putting her up on her hands and knees to help her strengthen those muscles. Well today she rolled from back to tummy and I looked away for a second and then looked back at her and she was on her hands and knees. She did it by herself and I was so excited!
I've discovered that Aveeno baby wash makes the best facial cleanser for me. It's super gentle on my skin and it takes my eye makeup off. And its tear-free. Win!

I hate when daycare pulls crap like that in the infant room. Seriously, babies DGAF and it's just a massive PITA for the parents. DD1 was in daycare and 3m old when Valentines day came around. We got an email reminding us to bring valentines for the other kids in the classroom. We ignored it assuming it was meant for the older kids not the infant classroom. Sure enough on Valentines day DD1 received homemade Valentines card from her classmates some including candy!! Who's got time for this sh*t??

You'll love this then. They sent a note home on Thursday of last week saying they are taking Holiday photos on the following Tuesday! Please send your LO in their Christmas outfits!!! WHAT?! So we essentially had to run out this weekend to find a Christmas outfit (no time to order what i really want online). I settled on a dress from Old Navy, got cute tights with the shoes colored on, and a sweet bow and cardigan. I go into DC on Monday and say 'are we really doing Christmas photos tomorrow' and they tell me they've been pushed back bc it was too rushed. I'm sure ALL of the parents called and bitched about the short notice and I was the only idiot that ran out to get her an outfit. I was so pissed!!!! X(

To add: DC had a Halloween parade/party. They asked us to bring in "healthy treats". I ignored thinking this was for the 3-5 year olds...nope! I showed up and Em went in the parade and trick or treated - we walked away with half a bag of candy. Luckily, I already had a Halloween costume, but seriously. These kids are 5/6 months old!

DD and DS realized they could see eachother in the car today. DS was fussy and DD started performing Frozen songs for him. He was mesmerized and was smiling at her. It was ADORABLE.
Re: random thoughts.

I, on the other hand, am so tired I could cry. It looks like another long night ahead.
I hope your LO feels better soon and isn't up all night!

Also, DD is currently crying and attempting to flip out of my arms because I won't let her watch TV while she nurses. Cripes.

I have a horrible sore throat. It feels like strep.
@ns1 hope you feel better soon!
Eta: thank you for the well wishes!
