You didn't miss a lot. The GBCBer just started the thread. She wasn't even involved in the fight.
I'm not sure if she GCCB because someone critiqued her for drinking or her marriage problems or if she just thinks everyone is crazy. Either way she decided she's going to consult the mighty Google from now on for any of her baby questions.
Two cars just hit head on and flew into a ditch right in front of my house! I heard an explosion and the power went out. All the people looked ok but still had injuries. God I hate that road, it's so curvy.

That's scary!
It was scary. The jeep was upside down in the ditch. Is it just me or are jeeps just designed to flip completely upside down in accidents?! And there was nothing left of the entire front of the other car. And someone's wheel flew 30 feet down the road. However, cars are made to keep the people in them alive in head on collisions so thankfully there were no critical injuries.
That does seem to happen with a lot of Jeeps! I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and not long ago there was a (dumbass) dude in the paper for flipping one very like mine. Gah, good thing I drive a lot more sedately now than I used to.
I flipped an old Jeep Grand Wagoneer once. Granted, I was on interstate 90 in Montana when the legal posted speed limit was "Reasonable and Prudent". I fell asleep behind the wheel, woke up going into the ditch and overcorrected. I'm pretty sure I could have flipped anything under those circumstances.

Great photos @eireyes!
I hope you feel better, @lia619, that reaction sounds awful.
@celticlullaby that Strawberry Quik is quite something! Is it getting better? And I'm glad the new job might work out!
@kseccomb17 that sounds so exhausting. Hope you get some rest. Is there someone that can spell you so you can at least take a nap?
I have help with that aspect. I just can't fall asleep, like ever. I usually have to take a sedative in order to calm enough to sleep, and then I'm knocked out. It really stinks.
So I didn't want to start a new thread so I figured posting her would be perfect. We went to Texas Roadhouse today and they had these awesome half high chairs that sit in the booth with you for baby. It was awesome. Snuggles all through dinner. Plus a sassy faced baby for the win!
The way DH is sounding, I'm not going to be able to sleep for the next week. He's got a sinus infection and they won't give him abx until he's had the symptoms for 10 days. :-w
DH, DS and I spent the day together to celebrate our anniversary. Family time is so rare with DH's schedule. We were going to go to the zoo but DS had such a bad night we decided to stay closer to home and go to the Udvar Hazy air and space museum. DS enjoyed it and napped great there. I actually stole my new avatar from the tail art on one of the planes.
THE DISCOVERY. I am obsessed with aeronautics and space history. I would LOVE to see that exhibit.

Shit, i'm sorry to hear that. I think you've alluded to your anxiety causing sleep problems before - I'm sorry, too, for forgetting. Hugs, momma.
It's alright, haha. I don't expect people to remember my problems. DH is taking over tonight, and I got my medicine refilled, so i'm looking forward to some rest before class tomorrow.
Dude I was love titting EmmaD's comment in the nose Freda thread and this error saying I needed to install Java popped up. But only for A14. I'm on an iPhone, I only install Java in my belly. All other boards worked. Also parenting seems to have died.
It's really the Jeep Wranglers. I think I could easily just push one right on its side. And the no door thing? No.
Yeah especially the ones with lifts and big ol' mud tires. My husband and I always hardcore judge people who ride around in those with their kids. Those and old Ford Broncos with the tops removed. Yeah, like that roll cage is gonna protect your kid.
This reminds m of what I saw at daycare pick up yesterday. A dad loaded his two year old into his front facing car seat in the passenger seat of his 2 seat pick up truck. WTF!? Its probably freaken legal here in WV.

Omflord. Why don't people know things? I walked passed a porche boxter the other day with a front facing car seat that was obviously too big and installed wrong. It was totally crooked. I don't even think the child could have fit in there if the top had been up. I traded my convertible in right before my baby was born. It was way more important to have a safer car than a cool one. (I miss it though, I loved that car. Oh well)
I can't even with this girl. Really??? That's all your 20 week US is for? Not to mention her post last night that heartburn was the worst part of pregnancy. We shall see how she feels about that in another 28 weeks.
@3crazykitties the Discovery was built in 1984 and flew 39 missions, a cumulative 365 days in space. One mission to place the Hubble telescope. A shuttle can endure basically the force of an atomic bomb to accelerate to 28,000 miles an hour to reach low earth orbit. In 10 minutes!!! It then travels 17,500 to keep up with the rotation of earth and stay the fuck up there. Upon reentry, they have to slow way the fuck down. The friction heat reaches 3,000 degrees as it falls through the thicker atmosphere. And shuttles glide in. Those bitches aren't planes, all 5 million pounds just soars right down with only the help of a parachute. Three actually. Obviously you did not need to know any of this, but once my mind is on space, my mind is IN space and I can talk about it all day. But how cool is it that you got to see something that's endured so much but is so rarely appreciated?! Space exploration has so much potential yet never gets accessed. BLA bla bla but for real.
Oh my god with the sex/gender debate! I have never seen more assholes tear into someone about that shit. And the 20 week ultrasound is exciting to learn what sex or gender or species or whatever your baby is, and I think most women just aren't as worried about anything else that may be going on. I was high risk so I certainly was, but I don't get too annoyed when they think the test is strictly to look for genitals. It's better for them not to know they are checking all chambers of the heart, size of the brain, organ function, etc. I wish it was something I never had to consider. Ignorance is bliss.
I will never understand why women let their husband dictate every decision of their life.
My workout partner just told me she had to start going to another gym because her husband yelled at her for going to the one we've been going to because it is a little further, even though it has all the classes we go to. Even before she started coming with me she had to ask if it was okay for her to go to the gym. Seriously?!? I told DH I was going to start going.. Not asked. Wtf. I just don't get it. He's not your boss, he's your spouse.
First swim lesson was a success! DS tried nursing through my swim top and when that didn't work he tried pulling it down. He enjoyed "jumping" off of the ledge but wasn't to keen on being on his back and kicking his legs.
COSTUME FAIL RANT: I was over ambitious with the Halloween costumes this year, not having the experience of trying to do all the same things, but with an infant. My dress in particular is a hot mess. I wanted a double knit, but all they had was mostly wovens in the color I needed. So I went with a jersey knit thinking it would be better to have stretch in case the fit was off. Total mistake since I don't have an overlock machine. A nightmare to work with because of the stretch and impossible to rip out seams without comprimising the integrity of the fabric. And it rnded up being too big rather than too small. I had to take it in Improperly since I couldn't rip seams. Haven't even started on Jack's yet. UGH. I'm not even excited for Halloween now. So bummed.
So funny that US's came up. A good friend is pregnant and due end of May/early March. She's not sure yet because she's going the midwife route and they don't need to see her til 10-ish weeks to check the heartbeat. She's older, so I thought it was kind of weird, but whatever. Then she said that she's not doing any US. MAYBE she'd do the 20w, but as long she's having a normal pregnancy she's "going granola". I didn't even know what to say to that without sounding soapbox-y and judgey and offending her.
I was this person with DD1. If we hadn't gone to a baby boutique we wouldn't have known the sex or had any u/s, other than the one a co worker did when I fell over the EKG machine at work. We lost our insurance when DH was laid off earlier in that pregnancy and we couldn't afford a anatomy scan. We had one done with DD2 and had to pay OOP as they are not considered medically nessasary. If we have a 3rd child I think we'll refuse all scans.
The sex/gender debate kills me. The idea that ultrasounds are to check out your babies bits also kills me.
I have my second interview this afternoon, I know I basically have a job but I'm so nervous. I don't know why I'm nervous since I kicked the pervious interviews ass but alas my anxiety gets the best of me.
DS only woke up twice last night and slept in until 8, but didn't go to slee until 10. This wonky sleep is kicking my ass.
I wish there was a place in town where they delievered coffee.

My dr before I switched to the midwife kept making me get scans. Which insurance didn't cover at all! They told me I should get them and that they would be covered by insurance so I did one at 5 and 6.5 weeks and 20 weeks. ( they recommended a 7.5-8 week scan too!?!? But I'd received the bill for the first too by then and was like uhhhh nope!)
6 month appt today and our pedi is sending us to one of the top dermatology practices for pediatrics in MD. We've already been to the allergist and his eczema is the worst my pedi has seen since he's been practicing. He has seen my mother, myself and siblings, and now my son, so he's been practicing a while. Thankfully the dermatologist had a cancellation next week, so we snagged that appt. So stressed because of his eczema and allergies. Nothing helps it and I feel like I can't feed him anything in fear he will be allergic.
@ambarnett1 poor little dude! Maybe he will grow out of it? I've heard people talk about having allergy issues that they grew out of almost as often as stories where people develop an allergy later in life.
I wish there was a place in town where they delievered coffee.
There are drive-up coffee huts here. Some of them have signs saying they are not family-friendly. I'm not sure what that means. Like kids shouldn't drink espresso? Or do they have topless baristas?
I bet it's the topless barista thing- they must get great tips.
Thanks @JessieAlbin! I hope he does. I feel so terrible for him and I know he got all this from my genes, so I feel even worse.
@celticlullaby I'm sorry things are so terrible today. I hope DH feels better. It sounds like he probably has the flu or something. Good luck lady! Hugs.
@ambarnett1 Sorry about your LO. My DD developed eczema, then allergies as an infant. Did your allergist recommend a scratch test? I did one w/ DD @ 4 mths and I really wish I hadn't. Apparently their little immune systems aren't developed enough yet, so I got a ton of false positives. I'm afraid my DS is developing eczema, too.
@ambarnett1 I hope things get easier. DD was diagnosed with eczema and eucerin and hydrocortisone cleared it up in just a few days. I'm sure you've tried everything possible, though.

I should really just unfriend her, lol.

Sorry rant over. Just had to get that out.
LO kept her legs clamped and slept through the entire thing.
