That cake is beautiful! How'd you do the lettering?

I want to get DD2 baptized but don't feel like picking God parents or planning a lunch. Poor second children. The stereotypes are true

I hate Mondays. I never want to get hot of bed. I want to keep sleeping while LO is sleeping and then hang out with her all day. The rest of the week isn't as bad, but Mondays are the worse because the weekend reminds me of how much I miss during the week. And I'm also tired which makes all emotions worse.

There was a baptism at our church last weekend with no godparents. The parents stood with the baby and answered the questions the godparents normally would.
So I rescued/adopted a 3 year old cat over the weekend. She is gorgeous. They had named her Persia but I can't handle that name. DS has been calling her Grey, so I guess that's what we'll name her. I had to drag her out from under a car, her hiding hole in the house and have given her a bath and not a single scratch or hiss out of her. I think this might work. She is a little crossed eyed since she is part Siamese. It's too cute.
So we had my step sons 4th birthday party this past weekend at my in-laws house. He opened presents and then went around and said thank you and gave everyone a hug. My MIL gave us a list of who gave what, and said it was for the thank you notes. Would you still send thank you notes?

No.
Same here. In our family, if you are there and receive a thank you in person, no need to mail one. If a gift was opened from someone not present, they get one in the mail.
Just found out my brother has changed his RSVP for my daughter's baptism this weekend and is not coming. Originally he was going to come, but SIL and their daughter weren't coming. SIL does not want to baptize their daughter (she's 6 weeks older than DD), and I guess feels like she'd be pressured if she came to our service. I don't know who would say anything to her about that decision, especially during the weekend that's supposedly for my daughter's baptism, but whatever. My mother talked to her to try and let her know there's no pressure/expectation and we just want the family and friends that love our daughter there. I don't know what was said, but now my brother isn't coming. WTH?!?! My brother and I haven't ever been close, but he's still my brother and this is really upsetting to me.

Yes, to anyone who might make a stink about not getting one (MIL?).
I actually do usually have DS1 write thank yous for gifts he receives, even for family who were there when he opened them. If nothing else, it's writing practice for him. But I don't think they're absolutely necessary for a family party.
Transitioned DS from RnP in our room to the crib in his room. Sat night was ROUGH. He woke every stinking hour. He ended up in our room by 2 am because I needed sleep. Last night was better. He woke about every 2 hours and lasted throughout the night. Hoping things continue to get easier. Where's my 4-6 hour at a time sleeper? I-)

That really stinks your SIL should realize this is not about her but about celebrating your LO - and whether or not she goes your brother should be there for you.

I need to do this. I tried like 3 weeks ago and it went horrible! Also the past two nights L slept from 9-7 in the Rock and play so I don't want to mess that up. Ugh I don't know what to do!
I need to transition DD into her crib, too. Every night I make up some kind of excuse.
@soon2bmrsn I did too. Then I ran out of excuses and DH started making them and it annoyed me, so I bit the bullet.
@sharmon1317 yeah I wouldn't want to mess with that sleep either! DS was hanging off the RnP though and every time he would move it would creak because he's gotten so heavy lol.
@stellabunny I'm jealous. I'm SAHM for a while, so naps are still in the swing or in my arms. If I try to lay him down unswaddled he sleeps maybe 20 minutes tops... but in the swing he takes a 90 minute nap. Swing for the win (for now).
I'm getting sick of the domestic hysteria regarding Ebola. I looked some things up and according to the CDC, somewhere between 3,000 and 49,000 die from the flu each year in the United States. Ebola has killed 1 person in the United States this year. You can also pass influenza on before you show symptoms, unlike Ebola. However, only a little over 40% of adults get the flu vaccine. Yet nobody is seriously suggesting that we forcibly quarantine those people who don't get the flu vaccine.

Yes!! So much of "I've never had the flu shot and I've never had the flu!" and "But, ingredients." I know it's not 100% but having a young infant who can't get the vaccine just makes me more nervous. DS1 hasn't gotten his yet because there was a delay and the pedi doesn't have them in yet and DH NEEDS to get his because he flies so much and lord knows what kind of germs he'll be sitting next to on the plane.
My friend and I were going to dress up for Halloween at work. Now she has backed out and I don't know if I'm brave enough to do it on my own, since no one dresses up at our office

What are/were you going to dress up as? That would make a difference, especially if it makes more sense as a pair.
I haven't been feeling very well lately so I went to the doctor and had blood drawn. I figured I had low iron. Turns out I have hyperthyroidism. Ugh! Totally don't want to deal with it.
@ksspiff On the one hand I want to be all "totally do it, it's Halloween, who cares what others think." On the other hand, I get the fear of being the only ones in costume. Could you go half way and not wear the cape, but have a blazer on over the shirt?
A skunk sprayed outside our window. I thought the baby had pooped a really stinky poop due to his vaccinations yesterday. So I woke him up to change him for no reason. I should know better by now.

No way, you should totally run the halls all day long with your cape flared out for emphasis! I think it's cute! But I am such an anti-dresser upper that I should probably just keep my opinions to myself
I think I'll walk in wearing a jacket, then take it off when I get to my corner of my floor. I don't get that much traffic on Fridays. Will report back. Anyone else dressing up at work?

I do believe I'll be wearing my full blown "spider witch" costume

Capes are the best part! You could ditch the entire outfit but not the cape. They're something super awesome about wearing them.

Our poor Puggle just had another seizure. He hasn't had any since we started him on meds back in March or so. My poor baby...guess we'll have to up that dosage. Now all he wants to do is cuddle but Easton is starting to wake up so I can't cuddle much longer. I hate this.
My socks have holes. Hanes used to be a good brand. Now they suck. I need new socks.
Also I had the boys' photos taken the other day thinking I'd just pay for the rights to a few of them to print for Christmas gifts. Yeah, should have known I would never be able to just pick a few so now I'm spending way more money than I planned. For 1 year photos I will be contacting a photographer who includes a DVD of all images because I really didn't save much money doing it this way. Curse you kids for being so darn cute and photogenic.
I'm lurking J15 and getting nostalgic. Definitely not nostalgic enough to want another kid, but it's still like "ahhhhh...the memories of peeing on ALL the sticks...."

@jnnfrrose6 see picture + mask. We aren't a pair, but I will literally be the only one 'dressed up' in eight floors of corporate office.
