So, I'm reading What to Expect The First Year. They talk about breast feeding and pumping, but then later mention nipple confusion. Can I not feed LO pumped breast milk for a while? Becoming a food machine is very confusing.
He is currently addicted to Destiny. It takes up a majority of the time spent in the living room. I have been sitting here for months listening to him play this game and kept wondering who the hell is the narration of the 'ghost' that talks in the game.
It's Peter fucking Dinklage.
night is made. I can go to sleep now.
LOL I was just talking to my H about this -- he is playing while I am bumping. He says they call him "Dinklebot" b/c he did a horrible job and sounds totally robotic!
I haven't heard it myself b/c he has a headset.
D14 November Siggy Challenge - How I Feel 3rd Tri:
I've been in horrible pain all evening--the back pain that has become usual after sitting at work all day and rib soreness ratcheted up to a new level. Even my nest of pillows isn't helping! Perfect timing to bring this up with the doctor tomorrow, but I'm a little bummed it's a new doctor--Last time and for the next appt or two, I'm meeting those who may deliver baby as my ob doesn't. Anyhow, boo, whine, and as DH put it, the good thing is today is almost over and tomorrow's a new day!

I agree with the author that the "girls" selection is BS for costumes, but what really irks me is the fact that there is even a difference between the costumes. Don't all firefighters wear the same shit? All police officers wear the same uniform. Stupid costume people.
This would be why we make all our Halloween costumes ourselves around here. That and I'm cheap.
ashtonkitty1 and @chayshay1408 and everyone who already ordered their udder pumpers, I'm impressed. I've been too chicken to call my insurance to see what they will cover. I'm just assuming it will be crappy and then I'll have to do something about it. Not the most effective strategy, is it?
And DH finally finally finally finished painting and cleaning out the nursery. And now he is whistling while he does the dishes. Amazing.

The article being on FB pissed you off or the premiss behind the article? It is disgusting isn't it? How great that she went back in there and told the manger she wants them to stop selling the costumes. And she's put their information out there for others to request the same I agree that it shouldn't be any different for a boy or a girl. How can we set realistic expectations for our daughters when this is their example?

@perfectlove09 - sorry, I realize now my anger wasn't clear. Definitely meant that they are sexualizing costumes for little girls pisses me off. Totally agree with you!
@katehgee - I missed it! I am on mobile tonight so I must not have scrolled all the way down. Thanks for pointing that out! Some faith in humanity restored! Now if only we could get the company that produced the costumes to stop making them all together.
AW: DH is finally painting the nursery!! I'm so freaking excited! Seemed like he would NEVER get to it. I offered/tried to do it but he really wanted to be the one to paint LO's room. Finally getting somewhere!!
I got randomly busy this weekend and never made my way back to TB and now I'm loooooost. Sorry ladies.
Hi again! Hope I can catch up :-S

My breast pump showed up at the door today- Medela PISA.
Now that it's here, what do I do with it?
Have you bought the steam bags for the parts? I would clean them all up so it's good to go when you need it. For me personally the hardest part was finding the right size cup that went on my nipple/boob! I had to buy 3 different sizes before I landed on one that fit right. #bignippleissues

I've gotten into this crappy sleep pattern where I'm up until 2, 3, 4am and then I sleep in way too late (like 11 or 12). I am all screwed up and can't seem to get back on track even if I skip caffeine, get some physical activity in during the day, try laying down earlier like I'm going to sleep...nothing! I'm fortunate to be able to sleep in or I'd be a zombie all day, but I hate the feeling of having wasted so much of the day.

Same here! It doesn't help that my LO gets super active at 2AM and makes it hard to lie down anyway (plus I always have heartburn, always). I'm so lucky to have so much down time but I feel like I'm gonna die. I was spending my time watching lectures, studying, doing baby things and whatnot but now I spend way too much time just sitting around feeling zonked out. Normally if I got into such a bad pattern, I'd just take a sleeping pill one night or stay up all night and sleep the next day to "reset" but I feel terrible doing that because I don't want to hurt the baby. I am zero help to you but I'm glad I'm not the only whiner with this rant
In memory of the baby Hufflepuff and all the angel babies of D14
Morning everyone! I hope everyone slept well. I woke up with a toothache (really I think it is from snoring and my gums drying out after brushing and bleeding) but it was so bad I totally went and got the baby orajel out I got from my shower. I heard it can cause choking anyway. I used it and I have no shame in it, it felt amazing. Our fire alarm in the basement is also is beeping every 15 minutes due to low battery, I am not shutting off our alarm system to go take it off the wall. Too much work. So I will sit here in my recliner and lurk on some boards.

You couldn't make me more jealous/upset right now if you tried. I just had a minor fit over the state of the baby room (H was off all weekend and spent all his time playing while I've been at work the past 5 days and counting), followed by another fit about the fucking dishes that have literally been piling up in the sink since Saturday. I refuse to touch them, they are all his.

I am having the same issue..I will fall asleep laying on my husband watching TV around 10, but then when he rolls me over to my side of the bed and turns off the tv (which is usually when he has had enough of me snoring in his face) it wakes me up and I can't go back to sleep. So I end up laying here until the wee hours of the morning.
Also I'm pretty sure another one of ours is delivering a baby this AM. SN Missie something (our first hospitalized bed rest momma) went in to the OR at 6 am according to Facebook.
missmissie82 No update yet, hopefully she and baby Noah are doing well
I hope everything went ok. Hopefully she'll update soon.
I couldn't sleep for shit last night. But I did eat half a box of Captain Crunch, so I guess we'll consider it a success. And I caught up on Walking Dead.
Good morning, all! I hit 32 weeks today and I'm wondering what kind of squash they chose for the size comparison--looks like a half acorn squash half pumpkin hybrid. Mmm, pumpkin.
@LadyThrice I can feel baby's parts, too! I'm not always sure what is what--will ask the doctor this morning.
@teeta_81 thanks for the insight on pumping--I'm realizing I should have some reliable resources on hand as the breastfeeding experience clearly varies and is, in my opinion, a scary unknown!

This. Luckily I work from home and have an awesome manager, or I'd probably have been fired by now.
@ashtonkitty1 Acid reflux sucks balls. Hopefully you can start getting some Monday night sleep.
D14 baby number three today...we're getting closer, ladies. GL @missmissie82
I fell asleep at 9:30 last night and slept on the couch. It was great except I missed taking my Prilosec and now I have heartburn.
Also, DH has an interview today! He's been talking to this company off and on for a couple of months, and he's going in for the afternoon. The HR guy said that they do enough screening before hand that if you make it to the onsite interview round, you're basically already 80% hired. Wish him luck!
And, got a text last night from a friend. She's cleaning out her apartment, and is GIVING me her son's convertible crib. It's still within age-limit tolerances, she has all the convertible parts, and it's even the right color to match everything else I got for the nursery. Score!
Off to work, ladies. Have a good day, and I'll try to check in later tonight.
Bending over at 32 weeks is evil. I feel like I'm gonna pass out putting on my damn shoes.
Also, my OB told me yesterday I'll be getting a growth u/s at 36wks! Didn't have this for the first time and she doesn't think I'm going to have a baby outside of 7lbs-ish so is this a new insurance perk?
Getting stuff moved in to the new house. I feel kind of useless. I'm just hanging out on a birth ball watching my brother attempt to mow the thigh high grass in the backyard. Is it wrong I kind of want to go get the air mattress and take a nap upstairs?
Also I'm pretty sure another one of ours is delivering a baby this AM. XYZ BUMPIE went in to the OR at 6 am according to Facebook.
Edit to add tag!
Catching up but...I thought we weren't supposed to be sharing info like this across the boards. I am assuming that she also wanted you to broadcast this.
@RaeChay - Our frustrations with our husbands sound similar. Mine hasn't done anything in the nursery yet. I need him to hang pictures, curtains and clean out the closet. There is also a big stack of dishes in the sink from last night....hopefully they'll be gone when I get home from work.
@hufflepuff42 - It is well known at work that I ALWAYS have chocolate stored in my desk. Pregnant or not.....
I guess I bitch too much when DD wakes up at the ass crack of 6 am. This morning when I opened her door she starts saying "I wake up too early mama I wake up too early, it's still dark" lol it was funny and sad. My it's still dark you should be sleeping lecture didn't go as intended.
