the search for that name brought up a lot of options.... no FB stalking for me this morning....
unless you are talking about the FB profile that eludes to profession of stripper (which is all about the duck face), I hope that isn't the same one as "small bump girl".... eeek!
My new, comfy hoodie from Target sheds like crazy and left my purple shirt full of fuzzies. The things I do for warmth.
Anyhow, hope everyone's well today. We cleared our most of our books this weekend to get ready for the new shelves. My husband worked, but I took the time to do some of my own. He came home early and was a sweetheart the rest of the night, cuddling with me on the sofa and having conversations with my bump. Then he sang to her. Daawww ...

Maple403- where are yall finding these recipes? I found one on pinterest about a month ago and my coworker made them using this recipe...we both agreed they were awful!
Morning gals. Sorry to post and run again today. We are on our way out the door to the beach. There will be lots of lying around while BFF chases after Ella for me.
Disney yesterday was awesome but a LONG day and I was so sore by the end of it. Surprisingly not too bad this morning thank goodness!
bhjones1980- my DH has the "man flu" as well... 8-|
It's ok, he will probably survive, after napping his way through most of yesterday, he is going to the doctor today.....sigh
you have a FREAKING cold!
Lol, MH napped most of yesterday as well. He refuses to take any meds but is always..boo hoo me. I finally hand delivered him some mucinex (sp?) I'm surprised he didn't call in sick this morning. He works on his parents dairy farm.
I've got lots to update today. Friday I had my follow up OB appt after my night in the hospital. My blood pressure was still mildly high, I gained 4 lbs in 8 days, and she heard a premature beat and said my heart rate was really low for being pregnant (70-80 bpm, vs 90-100). So off to the cardiologist I go later this week. From what I've read the premature beat thing isn't a big deal so I'm not overly concerned. I'm more concerned by the fact that my OB said "Something is definitely brewing..." Not sure what she means by that, but it has me on edge. I'll follow up next week again to check on baby. I didn't have Pre-E last baby, and have no idea if it's common to get it the second time around without having it the first. My BP never got very high though before.
On the bright side of things....We upgraded to a mini-van on Friday. I was very hesitant, but I FREAKING love it. I can DD in without bending over or having to hop in the backseat with her....plus, everytime the door slides open she goes "Wooooah" which is supes cute.
I also got a nursery project done, and convinced DH to put together the crib. When I say convinced, It was really more like twisted his arm, begged and fought with him. The second time around he knows that LO isn't really going to be sleeping in her crib until summer...so he is in no rush. Me, on the other hand, is convinced I'm weeks away from bedrest and want to get as much done ASAP.
Anyways, here is my alphabet wall. Bought the wood letters off etsy and modge-podged them with scrapbook paper. Huge project...so glad it's done!
Hmm, you guys are freaking me out. I *do* actually get monthly ultrasounds... but I'm 99% sure I'm low-risk. Could it just vary from office to office?
(Still, the point remains that yes, with that much doctor interaction, this girl can't be effing serious. Not this early on a Monday.)
ETA: my office does u/s + appt every months until 7 months, then biweekly until 9th month, then it's weekly. Is that a weird schedule?
I get monthly ultrasounds am I'm not technically classified as high risk. Because of my thyroid issues she wants to monitor growth. I guess its a medical reason, but I'm not high risk.
Goodmorning I'm getting out of bed to make banana pancakes! I have a rehearsal today for a wedding tomorrow so I'm taking my morning slow so I'm not crawling by tonight. @willvilljill@chickenonsunday I have an ultrasound every 4 weeks. I'm technically high risk, but mostly that's just how I've heard my Dr is. So I've had 5 up until now. Then I go in on wednesday for another.

Haiiii ladies, happy freaking Monday. Here's my random contribution: our contractor broke ground on our new farmer's porch last week after completely demolishing the old one. He's only been working half days for whatever reason. On Friday he dug three of the five holes needed for new footings (really deep holes used for supporting posts that also get filled with concrete) and left before finishing.
Currently it's 39 degrees and it's going to POUR the next 4 days. If he doesn't finish the holes today there's no way he'll be able to pour the concrete for at least another week (until the ground dries) and I'm afraid we'll have a freeze and the ground will become too hard to work with. It's 9:38am and he has yet to show up for work.
Why the HELL is it so hard to find a good contractor?? He's already a month behind schedule and this guy came with great references from people we know. We just got through a major house reno with a different contractor that lost interest in the project halfway through. If we go through another round of having a project half-finished and have to chase a contractor around town I will lose my f'ing shit. For reals, yo.
This is awful, I am so happy my husband can do stuff like that. I have heard and seen way too many horror stories from contractors. My DH is often out helping his friends fixing what the contractors have either messed up or didn't finish. Hopefully it all works out, and he gets it done, and done right!!
A co-worker in a nearby department (who I'd also call a friend at this point) who is 4 weeks ahead of me in her first successful high-risk pregnancy was admitted to the hospital on Friday, which I just found out. =(( The doctors say everything looks ok but it seems like her waters want to break..? She has to stay for a week. I'm feeling devastated for her. Her and I have been pregnant bffs here at work since we both went public with our pregnancies. In the back of my head I kept hoping she'd make it through without complications but was worried because of her history. She was also HUGE in the belly, as in she looked 9 months pregnant for real. and she was only 26 weeks.
On a happier note, I am so so in love with the song "Out of my League" by Fitz and the Tantrums. It's not really new at this point, but it still comes on the radio sometimes (and definitely on all my playlists). It reminds me of DH hardcore. Here we are at almost 6 months pregnant with our first child, married for almost a year and a half and together for 4 1/2, and I still wonder how he chose me to be with forever. He was so definitely out of my league. :x
Holy boobies! I swear my lovely lady bits just grew a cup size since last week! Grrrr I just bought a couple of new bras thinking they wouldn't grow till 3rd tri, well at least I was hoping! I was already a DDD before pregnancy. Now I'm going to complain that my boobs are bigger then my bump! Where are you lil bump?!
I am so over my baby shower already. There are way too many people invited and my family and DH's family are taking it as a time to invite everyone THEY know. Yay for presents but how the fuck are we inviting 85 fucking people to a baby shower being held at BIL's normal sized house. This is insane.

My baby girl is super sick She cant breath, super stuffy, raspy and she is coughing super hard. This is day 3 and she is worse. I think we are headed to stat care today as i cant get into her normal dr. Ive had no sleep for several days up making sure she is breathing. I did manage a 2 hour restless nap yesterday.
Right now im crossing fingers that she is okay. Im mostly worried about entero d68 as she has the symptoms and it came on very fast. Fingers crossed i dont get sick. (Since she coughed in my face all night that is unlikely) i have 3 major events at work at the end of the week i need to be at 100% for.

My random: TL; DR my MIL is being weird again, and I need to know if its just me and in my head because we dont get along, or if she really is nuts.
We visited MIL this weekend. And the visit was interesting. (remember that she is planning to throw her own shower for us).
She mentioned that she got her invitation to the gala shower and was very excited. Then she mentioned that she decided NOT to throw a shower for her friends that she wanted to invite to my moms shower. Instead she just told everyone to go to our registries and buy something to drop off at her house. (IDK but that sounded so rude and weird to me but I left it alone.) These are not people that are in our lives, just distant relatives of DH and friends of his mother, so while I felt embarrassed about it, Im not going to let it bother me.
Then she wanted to go through our registries with us while we were visiting. She asked us 3 times what we really wanted her to purchase, so I suggested that she get us the crib or nursery furniture. She proceeded to go to PBK registry and saw a bassinet set that she feel in love with, and basically insisted that is what she was going to purchase (although its NMS, and we arent using a bassinet) but okay cool, Im grateful for whatever. HOWEVER she proceeded to say that the bassinet was for her house.
Tell me if Im crazy but how are you getting us a gift for us to use for the baby, but its only for your house? AND Im still not comfortable with the baby staying over there without one of us (Dh and I) present, so this $300 bassinet + $150 bedding is going to go to waste.
Am I being weird? or is this kind of thing normal?

@jaztastic it's weird. Presents are typically for you to actually use, ya know, at your own house. Grandparents houses and supplies are not presents unless you already have one and YOU decide it's going there.
@musicgirl524 that bedding is super cute! What color are the walls going to be?
Ugh I am embarrassed to even talk about the walls...DH is staunchly refusing to paint them. So I imagine they will remain the neutral sand-y color which they currently are. Thank God for wall art.
Yah dh would come home and id have painted the walls if i really wanted them painted. Lol. Nothing wrong with neutral walls tho. For reals

@jaztastic that does seem weird. 99.9% of the time I think stuff on the registry is meant for the house where the baby will be most of the time.
I've seen where people get accidental doubles of things (swings, bouncers etc.) and those might go to Grandmas house or something. But I've never seen a grandparent purchase a registry item specifically to stay at their house. That's weird.

@willvilljill some doctors just do more scans. Especially if they have the equipment there in the office. My office has a lower level ultrasound that they use for dating scans or if during normal follow ups, something is of concern. For the more detailed scans like NT and anatomy I had to go to another place. I see the MWs, but have a friend who saw the OBs in the group and I think she had more scans than I did even though we were both low risk.
GTKY: I like the names Patrick and Sabrina but those are both out. Patrick because of our last name starting with Pat and Sabrina because we named our cat that. I think we have basically ruled out any names starting with S because my name and both of our cats names start with S. There are also a ton of boy names that I love, but I have had William picked out for years.
My random: I called out of work today because I got all of about 1 hour of sleep last night. I had a hard time getting to sleep to begin with and then my dog started poking me with her nose at 1am to wake me up. I was just starting to get back to sleep when Hailey woke up wanting milk, so I went and got a cup for her, but she fell asleep before I got back to her room so I put it back in the fridge. Again I was almost back to sleep when she woke up again. Again took me forever to start getting to the point that I could feel sleepy, but the dog was restless, so I finally got up and let her out at 3:30. Got back to bed and I was wide awake AGAIN. The rest of the night had to deal with the cat getting her claw stuck in something on the dresser and hubby hogging he bed. I finally fell asleep again about 5 minutes before my alarm went off. I knew there was no way I could make it to work so I just stayed in bed and asked hubby to give me my phone so I could let my manager know.
That sounds like it can turn into some major drama. Does she know that baby will not be staying over?
@CLS78 I keep saying things like, we will have to sit down and discuss when the baby can visit, because you and I arent on the best terms. Then she makes remarks (on a regular basis) about taking us to court for visitation. She said the other day at our visit, that we dont need to be on any terms for her to see her grandchild. But DH continues to do this nervous laughter thing and change the subject, because he doesnt want us to argue or fight about it.

Weird, @jaztastic. It's not really a gift if there are strings attached, IMHO (like, this is for my house for when your kid stays over ... which I'm thinking she's thinking will be a frequent thing).
And the whole court/visitation thing? Um, no. I can't believe how combative she is with you. I think your husband needs to stop avoiding the conversation and set some boundaries. Confrontation sucks, but it's for the good of Dolce.

@jaztastic that is really strange. I don't get that at all. If it were me, I definitely would not be sending her a thank you card, that's for sure!
I'm so sad it's Monday. It was chilly in my house this morning too and I just wanted to stay under the covers. I do get to go to a school to volunteer for a while tomorrow morning though, so I'm pretty excited for that. It's Engineering Week here and we always go to an elementary school and do some projects with them. I get to go to a 2nd grade class...I can't wait!
@musicgirl524 Not a lawyer, but yes they can sue for grandparents rights. But from what I've read, if the parents are still together and both agree to refuse the grandparents visitation there's pretty much no grounds for a valid case. It's more in the case of divorced or deceased parents.
My grandparents actually had to sue for grandparents rights for my cousin because his birth mother is insane and she basically ran off with him while my uncle was in the military overseas.
