I have had NINE ultrasounds so far, but I am very high risk. Good times. We made our first big purchase last night. A rocker!
@musicgirl524 and @kefttsc Love the bedding! I am trying to find something I like and not having any luck. Where besides PBK can I find cute options for bedding?
That sounds like it can turn into some major drama. Does she know that baby will not be staying over?
@CLS78 I keep saying things like, we will have to sit down and discuss when the baby can visit, because you and I arent on the best terms. Then she makes remarks (on a regular basis) about taking us to court for visitation. She said the other day at our visit, that we dont need to be on any terms for her to see her grandchild. But DH continues to do this nervous laughter thing and change the subject, because he doesnt want us to argue or fight about it.
Okay, for all the lawyer experts out there...can grandparents do this??? I've only ever heard of visitation rights for parents?
@musicgirl524 SHE CANT!! She is just a BSC lady... She threatened to call CPS on us for being unfit parents and thats how she would get the courts to give her custody. DH says she was just joking... but joking or not thats not funny. Its not a game to me at all. And the way she keeps saying "im taking yall to court" makes me believe something so ridiculous is not beyond the her.

Today I get to go in the bedroom we just painted and lightly sand lint from the roller off the wall! My husband got a pack of cheapie rollers and used it on one wall to finish up painting my craft room and there is to many lints on the wall for me to let it stay. . (I wish I wasn't so anal, but I want it to look good). Don't buy cheap rollers for real, because they suck!

For my own spam, I woke up at 3:30 this morning with terrible heartburn/nausea/gas pain. I was so miserable and then I was constipated on top of that so trying to go to the bathroom just felt like a lesson in futility. Roslin then decided this was a perfect time to have a dance party in my uterus. After an hour and a half of trying to make myself feel better I got a tiny bit of sleep but kept waking up.
I think I might end up napping later. Right now I want to eat an entire bag of kettle cooked chips.
@cls78 I saw this one that is similar but with a chevron stripe:
Then I saw this one, which is tempting because I was kind of wanting to do pink/green...my only hesitation is that this is a very BRIGHT pink/green, but it's kind of growing on me:
Why did I look???
The chevron grey is one Im considering for Dolce, but with the turquoise instead of pink.

The chevron one is the one we picked for our lo! DH just finished painting the walls grey and is putting a small Pink strip like a chair rail around the room!
Still at doctors for the 3hr glucose. There are two other girls doing it at the same time. Both have their husbands/br/so with them. I just don't quite get why? It's literally waiting around all morning.
I texted DH and said aren't you glad I'm not needy.
@cloe111479 sitting in a waiting room with DH for 3+ hours would drive me crazy! He gets so fidgety and then once he got bored of looking at stuff on his phone he would be a grump. I would rather just take a book with me and pass the time on my own!
Less than 4 hours until our MFM appointment! I still get excited each time! Today's appt will consist of another growth u/s plus their echos and updates on my progress! Woo hoo!

Right?! That's what I said. He'd never want to stay still for this long. I have my phone and my kindle. I'm good. If only there was wifi I'd be set.
ETA: I feel super snarky with the bump too small and so many kicks threads ...wtf? [-(
Is she exaggerating that she gets a MONTHLY ultrasound? That only happens if you or the baby is high risk. Plus, she should have zero worries with that much face time with the doctors.
That's weird because I go every month to a perinatologist for a u/s, but my doc hasn't indicated to me that either my baby or I am high risk. :-?
I bought this DIY chandelier medallion yesterday for $39. To have the designer make you a original and paint it it was around $150, but I guess it was so popular she sales a mass produce DIY version.
Do you think I should paint it the bright pink to match the pink in the bedding? I found a behr paint called Foxy Paint that is real close to my crib bedding. I plan on using the distressed tutorial, so all the painted raised wording, stars, dot and rim will be wiped off to show white and look distressed.
A generous co-worker gave me three large bins of baby clothes that go up to age 2T. Tons and tons of clothes. How many should I keep? Some things are not really my style, so I know I am going to give back those (she said to give her back whatever I don't want so she will donate it).
But in general, do I need like 30 onesies for each size? I'm serious these bins are huge and I have been procrastinating going through it all...
Depends what you're using the onesies for - on their own? Layering?
After about 12 months, I stopped using onesies altogether.
Weed through everything and pick out seasonally appropriate sizes, give the rest back.
@musicgirl524 Yes, it will need paint. I just saw I wasn't clear! Do you think bright pink would be to much or should I paint it grey? I am leaning towards bright pink or should I go a little lighter pink then my crib bedding.

I would go with a lighter pink. I assume your ceiling is white?
I feel like bright pink would be to "woah" on a white ceiling.
@jennjilljoite thanks! I'm at the doctor right now waiting to be seen. I haven't slept in what feels like days so I'm hoping everything goes well and I'm able to rest up. Work was less than stoked about me leaving but we will see.
Putting a dimmer switch in the baby's room might have been the best idea I'd ever had in my life. Try it!
Also, don't be a newb and put the crib near the light switch. Learn from the mistakes of others.
I thought about that not too long ago. The crib was on the same wall as the light switch, and I could only imagine my kid learning to play with it. Totally switched the changing table/dresser and crib position in the room.

@musicgirl524 Skip the rug then and go all out on your lighting. That damask bed set needs a chandelier in the nursery. Your DH is going to hate me. lol.

@musicgirl524 I have carpet in the nursery, so I didn't get a area rug.
Im doing an area rug to ground the room and make the nursery decor cohesive, since the carpet that is down is a light tan neutral color (doesn't really go but we aren't changing the carpet out)

Team PURPLE!!
We are excited to meet William Alexander and Harper Abigail in 2015!
So I am doing laundry...this is what happens when I put it off for almost a month.. yikes.excuse the mess behind the laundry if you can even see the mountain of boxes.

@AshleySparkle720 - that's what my laundry pile looks like every WEEK. I can't imagine putting it off for a whole month, it would take me a full day to fold it all!
@crystalw88 and @kkleigh10 I have been super swamped at work and haven't had much of my lunch/planning time to Bump with you! Making lesson plans for maternity leave is hard, especially when you don't know when the leave will begin...fun high risk pregnancy stuff!

So I'm not sure if this warrants its own thread, but I'll put it here (NPR):
DH and I have lived in our house for just about 3 years. We bought it as a short sale. When we first moved in we noticed that we had an odd neighbor. This neighbor approached DH in about the first month and said "Hey [DH's name], do you think maybe we could hang out some time? I don't have money, and I can't drive, but maybe you could take me to subway and I could pay you back?" I was really creeped out by this guy but DH said he's probably lonely.
Fast forward to last week, our next door neighbor sees us backing out of our driveway and flags us down. We roll down the window and she says, "Did you guys hear gunshots at 4 in the morning? I think I did and it woke me out of a sound sleep. Normally loud noises wouldn't bother me, except [weird creepy neighbor guy] is a paranoid schizophrenic. The woman who used to own your house moved because he broke in and physically attacked her. Twice. Something about evil spirits. He also broke into another neighbor's house and she woke up and he was in her bedroom. I'm just worried because my house is the same model as yours, so he would know where my bedroom is, too."
Now I'm totally freaked out. Especially with DD and another LO on the way. DH thinks it's nothing to worry about, especially since we're just hearing about this now, 3 years later. I'm impulsive and want to move to a better neighborhood, but meeting all of our housing needs on our budget will be next to impossible. Am I overreacting?
TL;DR would you move if you had a really scary neighbor?
