    The first thing I thought of when I read that thread was the CD board and those of us who don't have FB. At first it sounded like that was their big proof that she wasn't real. I do not have and won't ever have FB. I haven't given anyone on TB my real name. I'm not fake, but I suppose it could seem that way. But then again I'm not out there asking GTKY questions about pets and babies either. IDK

    Dude, most catfishes honestly make me sad for them. I don't think most of them are scammers, I think they're just pathetic, lonely people. Like if you've ever watched the show, you know what I mean. They have terrible self esteem and think that if they're honest about who they are they won't ever make any friends.

    I had a friend in high school who was a fledgling catfish. She'd lie in chat rooms, invented a whole character, and even had an online 'boyfriend' who knew nothing about her or what she looked like. I remember when she told our group of friends, and we were all just like,  'Well. That's weird.' and she played it off like it was a joke or something. I'm still FB friends with her, and I wonder whenever I see her post if she's still doing it and just got more technologically advanced.
