  • I don't like Batman. I actually think The Joker actions make more sense.
  • @ttcminicofer‌ I can only eat Cool Whip type topping. The aerosol can type of whipped cream makes me sick. I will take oil over cream any day.

Bring on the leggings as pants!

I'm wearing leggings as pants today. In my defense I'm wearing a long shirt and I didn't have any clean pants.

Continuing with food UO. I hate strawberries. I don't like how they feel in my mouth.

Agreed. The fucking worst. I do love eating the roasted seeds though, but only if someone else craves the pumpkin of course.

@LDW176  I agree, actually I think showers/gifts for a 2nd wedding are even more distasteful than a 2nd baby shower (which under certain circumstances, many in fact, don't bother me in the least).
I'll add to your UO and state I find it somewhere between in poor taste and a bit laughable for a 2nd+time bride to wear white.  Pale pink, silver, etc is tasteful and attractive.
edit to add the word baby

Oh man, it didn't even occur to me she could have another shower. She totally would too... blerg.

@ToryKate  sorry if I touched a nerve.  I've been married 3 times.  Yes I believe I qualify as having had desperate heartbreak not just once but, yes my mistake, two times.  I equate a white wedding gown as a significant symbol, one that is not at all possible after a marriage.  It is a rather judgy view you're right.  I think its one tiny part of my Southern etiquette background I held on to, and not much more! I don't hate people that choose things different than me, just don't agree with it.  I'll walk it back a little and say if the marriage was very short lived and no children were born from it then white worn 2nd x is more understandable.  Don't let my voice get you down, I wish you a wonderfully happy and successful marriage- I do believe in happiness and 2nd, 3rd, etc chances.

edit to add, reread your statement, what? Champagne is gorgeous and exactly what I referred to in my silver/ light pink, etc statement
    ok
    also edit spelling

I feel like the second wedding sentiments are super judgy. I am so happy for you if you never went through the heartbreak of divorce. But for those that do and find the love of their life on the other side of it they may want to celebrate that love. I absolutely don't judge someone wanting to celebrate their love and a second chance at happiness.

For the record I wore a champagne dress and had under 20 people at my second wedding. It was more expensive than my over 100ppl first wedding though.
Oh I thought she meant having a PPD after not having the wedding of your dreams (one marriage, two "weddings").
  • @hobbesgal you are right, the bride is entitled to wear whatever she chooses; but I personally think so many other colors are prettier/more flattering but generally wearing white is a symbol of innocence and sexual purity.  For me neither were true for my 1st wedding either so there is that.
  • There's a joke in there somewhere ;)

  • @Trickeyjedi  yes mam you're right, my attitude is ugly. It is an UNPOPULAR opinion and I recognize it now more fully.

The significance of white and the gown only being worn once  was also a symbol of wealth just as @Joy2611 stated.  Those are from the Victorian age, I believe the last 300 years have also contributed to the idea that white=purity.
  • Musicals.  The only thing I like that has singing involved is Shrek.  DH made me watch Rent and I thought it was torture!  I do love music and respect all art forms.  But, I just can't get into musicals, seems so weird to me - just speak your lines!  Haha

I feel the same about messing up on the carving part but I think it is fun to scoop them out! I haven't done it this year yet and probably won't, unless DH feels it is needed than I might.

I don't like movies. They're too long, too graphic/emotional/formulaic etc, and I think they're a waste of time and money.
Maybe you're watching the wrong movies.
I'm open to suggestions.I have ADHD though so any movie longer than an hour and a half is hard for me to sit through. I start out playing 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon in the middle of the movie and before long I'm asking Google about the life span of squirrels. Maybe this is the real reason I don't like them.

I get where you are coming from, I cant re-watch movies. My husband can and it drives me crazy! What is the point of watching something you already know the ending to? And to make me a hypocrite I can re-read books all day long ;)

Have you tried movies with a couple different plot lines going? Like "Love Actually" or "New Years Eve"? Those are both romcom-ish though, maybe someone else has examples of other genres.
