Hope this means something for you! This has been me all night! I hope they start getting real soon. I slept horribly because of it. MIL is taking DD today so I have some time to myself today.
Well I've got my doctors appointment at 9:30 so hopefully all these contractions I've been having were doing something productive. It's becoming a complete work out to wipe my ass now, DH finds this hilarious for some unknown reason, it totally SUCKS!!!!
I hope everyone who's in labor have a safe and healthy delivery. Labor vibes to all who want to go into labor!!! And congradulations to everyone who had their babies!
@caranichole yes when I get back from the doctors today I'll have like 7 pages to catch up on!
Been up since 5:30am but crawled back into bed with my boys. Big mistake, now I don't want to go to work and just want to snuggle them all day. Too bad at ages 10 and 5 they have to go to school.....guess that means I should get up for work.
Feeling my own sort of cramptastic over here, so I'll just commiserate with @savicke2009 for a while. Although I don't think anything big is happening right now...
I would totally spend the day working from home but DH told me last night how he is looking forward to his last day off alone (next week I will be home on mat leave) and I would feel bad taking that away from him.
Doctor's appointment tonight. They may or may not check my cervix. I think I'm too tired to shave, though...
Ugh! Amen! I need to get up and get in the shower and get the pre schooler ready for school, but I just dont wanna.. and shaving.. pshh, I might shave the spots on my legs that I missed last time these 'cramptractions' are about every 6 minutes or so.. so we shall see..
Just got done feeding Grace and realized that over the last 3-4 feedings I have had a whole new kind of nipple pain but just on one side. It keeps getting worse every time I feed her. It's not general soreness but like her tongue is made of sandpaper and it's just scratching and scratching.
...Guess I should post this in the breastfeeding questions thread.
went to the dr yesterday for weekly check. He told me "you're like an 18 year old coming in for birth control. This baby is still in China." LOL Don't know why I find this funny, but I do. Except this baby is not coming early. This makes me happy and sad at the same time.
I walked a few miles on the boardwalk and feels like baby dropped lower. Hoping this means things are moving along, I feel little bit's feet right above my belly button!
Woke up a few times in a ton of pain, but think it's more cramping than contractions. Maybe little guy knows his eviction begins tonight so he's getting started a bit early.
Saw that @pnwlover12 was contracting last night - any updates???
5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs. My rainbow arrived 10/15/14. TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.
Going for induction tonight and DH wakes up with a cold this morning!!! It sounds like he is hacking up a lung. Really, today?! I'm concerned about hospital procedures- they didn't mention what happens if one of us is sick. Guess I should call later

Nothin so far. Had a few crazy painful contractions that woke me up last night, but nothing timeable. Probably just a false alarm. Womp womp.
@cantisa Do you have access to an LC or have a local LLL group you could contact? With the blisters you were describing yesterday, it may help to have someone take a look at baby's latch and positioning at the breast. ((Hugs))
ETA: There are definite negatives to using a nipple shield, but it is an appropriate and very useful tool in certain situations for helping baby latch to feed. It may or may not be a solution to what you're experiencing, which is why seeing an LC or Leader might help.
Ugh - I just left a message for the pedi. This kid does not poop! He nurses great and is alert and happy, but one poop a day is not going to cut it. ~X(
@savagek7 Bedsharing can be done safely and I swear is the only way I stay sane, because my babies sleep well next to me. Even if you only do it occasionally out of desperation, it's good to read up on the correct and safe way to do it. And you might even find that you like it or become more comfortable once you take the steps to make your sleep surface safe:
ETA: bedsharing doesn't have to be all or nothing either. Plenty of parents bring baby into bed for the rough patch of the night during which they'd wake constantly on their own, and for the rest of the night baby is in her own space.
@savagek7 Oh man. That's rough. We caved and did a pacifier after one week. She only gets it if she really needs it and most times doesn't want it anyway.
I want to know where my chill, sweet baby went. She is getting so angry when she's done eating and screams and screams when we get her dressed and try putting her back to sleep. At least it didn't take me more than 10 minutes to console her this morning. I'm not sure I could handle another 4 hours of that like last night while DH is at work.
@pnwlover12 I must not have sent enough labor vibes. I'll try again.
@cantisa Nipple shields can be a huge help. I complain a ton about it but mostly because I feel like dd is dependent on it now rather than it being a temporary fix.
Good luck to all those in labor today and fx for all those wishing for labor.
Lots of sleep dust for all of you tired and exhausted pregnant lady's and new moms.
@savagek7 It can definitely be done safely. I was up all night for weeks but some nights I just had LO sleep on my chest while I snoozed in a chair, but I'm a light sleeper. I would not let daddy do this due to the fact that he sleeps through anything!
And we did a pacifier (even though I was against them) and it worked out really well - even to the point where by 6 months we took it away w no resistance issues.
Tip for nipple pain: steep regular tea bags in hot hot water about 5 minutes, squeeze out the excess liquid and put on nipple for 10 ish min until they cool. Let nipple air dry. This + lanolin were super helpful to me the tea supposedly helps toughen up your nipples- old Indian trick my mom heard and has passed it on over the years. Lots of folks swear by it!
So, im 1cm dilated, 50% effaced, baby at -1.. which is an improvement from two weeks ago when I was a fingertip and thick.. he offered to induce tomorrow.. im thinking im not going to take that offer.. called my husband and told him that and he says 'awww shit just got REAL! I dont think im ready for all that though' he says.. hahah HE'S NOT READY?! HAHAHAHAH but I spose we shall continue baking for now
Woke up with a migraine and found out the rash on my leg is poison oak. DS is running a low grade fever and his cold is back. What a wonderful way to start my day. I had a lot on the to do list that is probably waiting til tomorrow.
Good luck and fx to everyone who Is in labor or just had a baby! Keep up on telling us how to deal with breastfeeding, I'm getting nervous reading everyone's "problems" but hopefull with all the remedies everyone is throwing out. I'm so tired of this damn application, every time I get in it, it has logged me out and 95% of the time I'm to lazy to log back in. Grr! I do a lot of liking, but not a lot of comments being a ftm I don't have any helpful comments , sorry everyone. I'm a little discouraged being 39 weeks and had my appointment on Monday she says I'm locked up tight, I'm not dilated or effaced, or having contractions! I think ds is staying in there forever. Since she checked, I have had a little blood and cramping yesterday. But non today. very discouraging
Today sucks. I literally have no energy left. I have had diarrhea going on for what feels like an eternity, and cramping. RCS is Tuesday, and last day of work is this Friday. If only my last day could be today so I could sleep in bed every day all day until this kid comes. I think I can I think I can...
Can't believe the randoms are still so short! I feel like some days I don't have much to add bc I'm still pregnant, but I hope all the breastfeeding mamas have a good feeding day.
Welcome to all the babies born yesterday and today! I can't wait for my turn! Sitting here like "tick tock, tick tock."
I got to work super late (and don't care!) and I'm shocked that the randoms thread is only 2 pages... you lady's must be busy! Usually by now, it's like 5 pages long! Maybe I'll actually be able to keep up today.

This mastitis is no joke. I would actually say it's worse than my csection recovery. The fever finally seems to be going down on it's own today and my breasts aren't hurting anymore. Here's hoping this is the end of it. Keep those ducts clog free ladies!
@Cantisa, I used a nipple shield for two months with DS1. It was for a different reason (he was two weeks early and had a weak suck). At the time I hated it and it made nursing frustrating to constantly have a clean shield when he was ready to eat, but in the end it saved our nursing relationship. Once we finally were able to wean from it we went on to nurse great for almost a year. Maybe it's worth a shot!
Just caught up on randoms, completely surprised that it's still on page 2. Ladies on here are either on nesting level 1000 or in labor!!
Though I'd share this tid-bit with everyone. I was induced with DD and didn't want that experience again so at my last appointment 5 days ago I asked my OB about it. This was her advice since I'm a STM, she said that when I have a contraction try squatting until it's over and it will help open up the cervix. So I did and DD got a very good laugh at it every time. BUT I went from closed up tight at 37.3 weeks to 50%effaced and 3cm dilated at 38.1weeks today. Although squatting out in Public seems to scare everyone, but really funny to see their reactions!! Hope this helps anyone trying to safety avoid an induction!!!
I'm sending all the labor vibes I can to my LB @MissMandyD since today's her due date and I keep checking my email every hour to see if anything is happening!
Sent my car for warranty repairs on Monday to a Nissan dealer that's closer to us and has a better service department only to find out that my rear defroster isn't working because somebody screwed up royally. The car was a factory demo and had been in a low-speed accident before we bought it, which wasn't a problem for us. Come to find out, part of the collision repair included removing the back window either to replace it or fix the rear end--they're not sure. Well, when they put the window back in, not only did they not hook the defroster back up, it is glued between the window and car so it'll have to removed again to be fixed.
The kicker? Not a warranty issue, so the dealer couldn't touch it without charging us, BUT because it was a certified pre-owned car, the dealer who sold us the car gets to foot the bill because they shouldn't have overlooked it. That's the good news. The bad news was having to drive it up through OKC morning rush hour to get it to Edmond. Dear Lord...I never ever want to do that again. Ever.
After having strong contractions all day yesterday, several people suggested I walk last night to see if labor would start. So I walked. And walked. Had contractions and cramping while walking, but of course they stopped after I stopped. Now I'm just sore. My body is so confused. I'm hoping at my 38 week appt Friday she tells me I've dilated more. Then at least the pain in the ass contractions are serving a purpose!

I'm so sad that I have absolutely nothing going on according to my OB. I almost said no to the check but figured what the hell. No dilation, no effacement. I know that it doesn't necessarily mean anything, but it would have been nice to have something happening. I figure he's probably going to be late just like his brother.
I had my 38 week appointment today and we finalized induction for next week. I'm in such a bad mood today, I don't want to go to work.
I wish DH was here, I wish I wasn't being induced, and I'm just bummed about doing so much alone. I'm sorry I keep complaining. Maybe I need a bump break until I can quit being a Debbie Downer.
On the up side, I'm at Sonic right now eating a cheeseburger at 10:45am. The girl that brought me my food said, "Wow, you're looking large!" I told her I was having the baby in a week and not to judge me for eating a cheeseburger at 10am. She said she wouldn't tell a soul and for me to enjoy every bite. I have her a $5 tip.
