Hi everyone,

In the recent weeks there have been quite a lot of questions regarding users getting banned, and other decisions made behind the scenes.

The moderators and I would like to be as transparent as possible, but unfortunately we cannot always give you the full story behind what happens. However, I know that we owe you more answers. I have been working on a clear document that outlines how mods make their decisions, and this will be made available to you shortly.

We are implementing a strict warning policy moving forward for members. 5 warnings (issued over PM) = banning. I would like to stress that none of the recent banned members were put in this position out of the blue. They have been given many opportunities to change their behavior, and unfortunately chose not to do so. I promise that you will know if you are getting a warning.

In the case that you receive a warning from a mod that you disagree with, please PM me and bring it to my attention so that I can investigate it and keep it fair. Below are the main offenses for warnings:

--Spam- Business or personal promotions posted on a message thread

--Harassment-Attacking another member. If the answer is YES to any of these questions: --Was it a specific name call?

--Is this post malicious and NOT helpful in any way?

--Was this post created with the main purpose of stirring up other users?

-Online Vandalism-Posts to up a member’s post count

-Personal Information-This includes name, IP address, telephone number, address, email address, work information, etc. of another user or individual

--Impersonating other members/TB employees

The main goal is to make things more clear, so that you don’t feel like you need to question what’s going on behind the scenes.

In terms of this recent issue, AG received 5 warnings and was then banned. She was alerted that this was happening as well. Thank you for respecting the decision.

Best,

BJ

  • Oops.  I meant in general and not directed at you @MandJS
  • I don't understand how bigot is in the pantheon of name calling here.
    It's a slur, duh.

  • Since I recently received a warning from bj herself, I can attest to the vague and subjective nature of these rules. I think they purposely left it that way so they can kick out anyone they choose.

Keep a handy hand sanitizer on your person at all times so you won't catch the Ebola. Ebola fears the pocketbac.
Yea seriously. One of our girls on O13 got a warning for saying someone's bare bump was beautiful. Saying it was off topic. Some people are seriously flag happy right now and everyone and their mother is getting a warning! Who's warning was that again @Jenball717‌? Sticking a fork in your Oreo cream is a great way to keep your hands dry and warm while dunking them in milk.

I don't even remember, so many of us received them at once!
Also, does this mean any non "parenting" threads are breaking this vandalism rule? This place is going to be pretty quiet...

I don't like the prohibition of callouts by name to shit stir one. Too vague. If some one says something alarming, bigoted, untrue, hateful, etc, I believe it is the RESPONSIBILITY of the community to call that poster out. Then that poster can either clarify the comments (and maybe stop someone from wrongly assuming they are an asshole), or, if the comments were intended, the community can clearly demonstrate that they won't stand for bigoted, untrue, hateful things to be said on the board.

Exactly. So now they want this to be a place where idiotic, racist, hateful things can be said but go unchecked. Wonderful.

Oh. So like P&CE on The Nest. Yup. That's working well for them.
  • I'm so confused. Please to explain if I should wash the hand prints from my vagina with olive oil before or after arriving at the airport early. And do they sell Oreo forks there?

    Gah, too much helping.

Before. And bring your own Oreo fork but put in your checked luggage because weapon.
Omg, thanks! That would have been a most embarrassing blunder.
