It is going to be a long night. The baby's cold is making him miserable and he just wants to be held. 9hrs and counting till I can call the doc :(

  • When will you start sleeping through the night, baby?? I'm sooo tired and over living my life in 3-4 hour (sometimes one hour) cycles of naps and feeds. I need a regular person routine again.

  • My awesome baby who has been sleeping so well is fighting it tonight. She's only slept if she's been held. Each time I've tried laying her down in the bassinet she's wide awake not even 5 minutes later. She's now in the swing maybe it will work. Momma's gotta get some sleep.

Also my dog puked in the dining room. It's been a fun night.

Just got baby down. Good luck tonight ladies! FX babies lets us get some of the much needed sleep we all deserve :)
  • What's wrong with me... Lacy's been asleep since 8:30 after her bath. Its now almosy 11 and she's still asleep.. Why am I still wide awake
  • Apparently, I suck at sleep. I'm awake just waiting for DS to wake up. He's on a decent sleep stretch, and I'm just staring at him like, "You should be hungry."

  • Sigh.... We went to bed at 9:45, ds was up at 11:45. He ate on bothsides, seemed miserable, so i sat w him upright for 20 mins. He projectile vomitted when i swaddled him.

Put him down in his pnp bassinet where he strained, gagged, grunted for a while. I got up rocked him, put him down again. Same result, we are now 2hrs later, neither has slept and hes eating again.

I long for the day ill sleep more than 90 mins at a time. I cant even imagine going back to work in a few weeks

  • Had to help dd1 with homework because she doesn't like to do her homework when I tell her to. She knew what she was doing but it still sucked.

Got the babe swaddled and thought he was ready to put down for first sleep but he had other plans. He woke up furious and starving. I could not get him to calm down to latch for the life of me. Finally resorted to heating up frozen BM so he would calm down enough to bf and it worked! He's not sleeping well but he will be soon.

Also got mad at dh because I swear he has some depression issues that he needs to deal with. I don't know how to explain it but there is always some kind of turmoil in this house between the older kids or a kid and dh and I am tired of being the peacekeeper. I lost my marbles with all three of them and told them I quit getting in the middle of things. They can figure their shit out without me from now on. I'll just stick to the kiddos in the single digit age bracket.

Now please tiny child, oh and toddler child, both of you need to get to sleep, I'm exhausted.
  • What the heck happened to my baby that was going four hours between feeds in the MOTN??? I'm over this hey let's eat every two hours but take forever to fall back asleep crap.

LO is just plain exhausted after having dinner at the ILs. He didn't take much of a nap before, and it was just too noisy, bright for him to really nap there. Also, i am seeing signs that are indicating he may be going through his first mental leap, and I think he may have been over stimulated, because he was upset unless he was in my arms, just holding on to me.
  • I'm sure that the rest of you ladies feel this way also but during MOTN, I'm convinced that the night is never going to end and he's not going to sleep :/ it's been over two hours and I've tried everything. Boob, bottle, binky, swing/bouncer, gripe water, rocking in mommys arms... Nothing is soothing this kid tonight.

  • I have a Houdini kid. Last week she got her arm out of the arm hole and up through the neck. So I stopped swaddling her arms. And now this is the second night in a row she got her legs out and into the body part of her sleeper. Freaked me out when I pick her up and the legs are empty!

Also, I really wish she'd sleep this well when it's just the two of us. She sleeps so well when H is here. And he still asks "want me to get her" When she cries. Yes please! Change her then I'll feed. You only have 1 or 2 nights to do that a week.

Yes! Same side too! Sometimes she'll latch and suck a few times but then spits it out...I know she gets milk b/c it runs out of her mouth. Other side, no prob. Sooo frustrating, especially since I have supply issues and I want her to get as much breast milk as possible before I give her the formula.

I had the scariest nightmare ever!! It made me jump in my sleep, and I woke up near tears. I made DH hold me. Warning, it's kind of a real fear and if you don't want to worry, or you get upset easily, do no read on.

I had a dream that hubs and I were out and about driving around our nice little town with LO, when all of a sudden a strange man comes up to the window when we were in a parking lot. Instead of asking DH in the front seat to roll his window down, he asked me, in the backseat to roll my window down. When I didn't roll it down all the way, and the guy noticed, my heart dropped. Something wasn't right so I rolled my window up and told hubby to step on the gas. Out of the corner of my eye, I watched as the guy pulled out a gun and shoot our window, then he got in, and proceeded to shoot the baby because we resisted. Needless to say, I'm glad that was just a dream, but it felt so real and now I'm so paranoid and I feel anxious. I probably feel that way, though, because I had night terrors as a kid, so my nightmares always leave me feeling as if they were more of a memory than a dream. Even my mind apparently doesn't want me to sleep. Sigh.
  • @Ahlome08‌ that is an awful dream! I'm sorry that ruined some perfectly good sleep for you. I've been having weird dreams with my ex in them. Nothing ever happens with him, he's just there in places that it doesn't make sense for him to be at.

First the dog, then LO has a massive spit up during the MOTN feeding now DH is sick. My long night is turning into a long day.
  • Seriously annoyed at DH... I asked him to take her for this last stretch of the morning because I was exhausted and he's all annoyed at me and being Jerk. I wound up doing it anyways
  • @brittneyandadam‌ it is really frustrating. I try to pump the side she doesn't like as much but don't always get much out of it.

  • LO is only sleeping when held all evening. Hopefully after this next bottle she will sleep in her bassinet or swing and let her momma get some sleep. She was doing so well through the night.
  • At 6w 1d old I think we may have hit her 1st leap she has not let me put her down since 4pm without screaming, even DH is not doing the trick for her. I hope she will sleep in her bassinet some we had been making great progress in that department. Also for the most part todah when she farts she cries like it hurts her, poor baby is not having a good evening...

I am so freaking pissed off. I have an ear ache, which is also causing me to have a headache. I had barely fallen asleep not but a half an hour before i put LO to bed for the night, when DH calls me (from the bathroom), asking for Pepto Bismol. I get up, get him the Pepto Bismol, and try to go back to sleep. Well, that apparently wasn't the plan, according to DH, because he spent the next hour In the bathroom, apparently trying to call for me to get him a washcloth and he woke the baby up with his loud noises. I feel bad for him that he feels sick, but I'm exhausted from not getting any sleep, and I was really looking forward to going to bed at a reasonable hour. Is it wrong of me to feel like he should have been more considerate if his sleeping son and wife in the next room, or am I just being hormonal?

Eta: words are hard when you're this tired
  • @Ahlome08‌ I don't think you're wrong for feeling like that. My DH does it all the time. He can't look for things if it isn't right out in the open he can't find it and then he wants me to do it. He is also needy when sick and can't do things for himself. Getting these babies to sleep is no joke. He should have been more considerate.
  • @Ahlome08 & @jht14 I HAVE to ask "did you look for it?" every time DH asks for something. 9 times out of 10 he didn't and its right where it should be. He just didn't want to move anything and/or look.
  • LO has been screaming for 4 hours. It's gonna be a rough night
