Spent the night in the glider holding the baby upright, humidifier going, so he could sleep. He's too congested to lie flat. Tired is an understatement.
So it's official. I have to take my first trip next week. I leave Tuesday and don't come back until really late Thursday night.
I gave myself the afternoon to feel sorry for myself (so much for not traveling until January), and then I got to work figuring out logistics and how to save as much milk as possible while I'm out there.
Pumping in random bathrooms at a national park will be interesting. (
Fuck.
Have you thought about a car adapter for your pump? Maybe you could sit in the car if possible?
Isn't there also something called like freemies? It let's you pump while still wearing clothes? Idk how it works but I think I remember seeing it in the breastfeeding thread awhile back.
@cookiemomma14 my hair turns up in places I haven't even been. It attaches to people then goes on a little adventure and ends up in their house/closet/car. It could have got one of my male friends in a lot of trouble once! I'd borrowed my other friend's coat then he'd borrowed it a few days later so my hair managed to get from me, to our friend's house then onto him without us even being in the same building at the same time. Thankfully his gf is my best friend and I have distinctive coloured hair or it could have gone very badly for him.
We've also just had the first baby cold. She's been having her snot sucked and then going down to sleep with her head on on a folded, thoroughly secured blanket so she's raised enough not to choke and wake herself up. She's coming out the other side of it now and was completely fine, just filled with goo.
I'm sorry @kenziebug22. Hugs. I hope your day gets better.
@darkangel42 I will try that. My MIL got here to watch him at 6 am, and that's the first time I slept all night. Thank God my company allows me to work from home occasionally.
Thank you everyone, I'm ok just so sick of fighting with her and her making me feel like crap. I'm sick of being stuck in this situation and just wish I could be on my own

Soon, right? Just as soon as you finish your degree you can leave if I'm remembering right. It's gotta seem like a really long time right now but just imagine being my age (34) and looking back. You'll be able to tell your son, "Well, the first couple of years were kind of rough, but then we moved and we were able to settle into a great routine and look how awesome we're doing now!"
This. What a great example of perseverance to set for your son.
kenziebug22 - In the grand scheme of things it's a very short amount of time. You're seriously an amazing lady and a wonderful mom. You got this.

You guys are all right, I just need to focus on the future and in the big picture this shitty part will all be over soon enough. It's just really hard to try and figure out why things are like this. Me and my mom used to be best friends and I thought having G around would make us even closer but it's done nothing but push us further and further apart. It sucks because she is all I have (besides G of course) but.. I guess me moving will be for the best.
Hey PA ladies has anyone been to Linvilla this fall? We will be visiting my in-laws in Chester County and wanted to see if it was worth the stop.
I have not, but everyone I know says it's the bees knees

Nope! Not this year. But, if you have a toddler or older kids, they should really enjoy it! There's farm animals that you can feed, a giant playground area with old trucks and tires and things that they can climb in. There's a cartoonish graveyard area that's fun to look at. There's a maze, food stands and, of course, the witches hay ride. If you go early enough, it won't be so dark going through the trees and things lol my kids were not happy riding around in the dark and neither was I tbh. They also have a shop where you can buy fresh produce and baked goods!
It's very cute
ETA: oh oh! And after the hay ride, you get to roast marshmallows and drink Apple cider.
I just pressed your screenshot back button like five times before I realized that the actual back button was above it. Maybe this should be in the "I'm so tired" thread.

So its been a year since I've had my period, and the second I walk into work my body decides it's a good time to start again. Couldn't have been when I was home all during the day? ugh.. my luck.. lol
Ugh @SuperTinkerham sorry your car got broken into. I hope they didn't steal anything too valuable. Did you file a police report?
No, because all they got was an old GPS and they made a mess. And I didn't want to deal with the police wagging their fingers saying the doors should have been locked (Ahem, Mister!)
First: I just ate four eggs, almost an entire ham steak, and drank 56 oz of water. I'm still hungry. Wtf is wrong with me? It can't just be breastfeeding. Oh and before that I had a mini bagel with cream cheese, 2 slices of deli ham, a slice of cheese and an apple. It's 11:50 a.m........
I went down a pant size! Decided to try it out this morning and the next size down fit. Yay. Only 2 more to go, though I'm now in the size I basically stayed in the entire time I breastfed DS. I'm not one of those that sheds weight from nursing, so I may be here for a few more months.

@Nichole8787 maybe you're so hungry to recuperate from all that sleep! Sleeping makes me feel like I'm starving when I actually get some rest.
So I'm missing a really important meeting this afternoon because DH was spar to be home early to watch DS, but OSHA showed up at his work for an inspection and he's the safety director..I would rather be home but this meeting was important for me to be prepare for the next step in my graduate program.. like actually getting paid for what I do. Argh.
I have! He's not quite there yet but I think he will be soon as my children have usually gotten their teeth a bit on the earlier side. For now, I think he just likes noming on my chin lol
And based off what jessa said, I friggin love when you go to kiss your baby's chubby cheeks and they sort of jiggle a bit! Lol omg the cutest.
Increased slobber and repetitive bibbing him makes me think we aren't too far!
My nipples cringe in anticipation. Especially now that when a noise or movement gets his attention, he jerks his head - taking my nips with him!
That nipple biting thing is no joke. I love breastfeeding my babes and it's such a beautiful bonding experience but, when those teeth come in I thank my lucky stars for bottles and pumps.
@jensavicci@litera my LO is a slobbery mess these days. If I don't put a bib on him I'm guaranteed an outfit change or two during the day. We put a teething ring in the freezer today and gave it to him for the first time. He gnawed on that thing and loved it! I don't think we are too far off from teething either!
DH bought me an Ergo for an early birthday gift! Very excited to use it apple picking tomorrow.
Does anyone have experience using this without the insert? Apparently the insert is for babies under 12 lbs AND less than 4 months, which I didn't realize. I've read that a lot of people just use a rolled blanket?
How old and how big is your kid? How's the neck control? I stopped using the insert around 9 weeks

I've never bought them before. Can anyone recommend a brand or store?
