Thursday Spam Anyone?

Re: Thursday Spam Anyone?

  • No @foxlaw this morning? I have a pumpkin scone question for our resident barista... They're different this year right? I got my first of the year and it's more... Moist (Bleh that word) and it's a square not triangle... Still yummy but different, no?

It could just be how your Starbucks cuts them, and you may have gotten one from a fresh batch, hence the "moist"-ness of it.

Tag me & I shall appear @erobbins09‌ ;) YES they are different. In this last year we switched over to a new bakery (la boulange) and all of our pastries changed. Now they use real butter, sugar, etcetera & are more french inspired. They are good, but I miss the old scones. :(
  • Well, still nauseated and vomiting more often today than I was yesterday or the day before, and this would be day 3/4 without Zofran. I guess I am one of the lucky ones who gets to deal with m/s all pregnancy....yay me :-< Looks like I'll need another script for Zofran as I am down to 12 left. I just hope the pharmacy can get it filled before I have to leave, in a little over an hour, for my job interview. My stomach muscles are so sore, and only getting 5 hours of sleep is killing me. Lets hope the rest of day gets better.
@StephanieLBerg I'm so sorry you're still dealing with m/s!! I still have bouts of nausea here and there, it's not completely gone yet, and it sucks. Yours sounds way worse, I hope you can get your prescription filled soon and get some relief!!

  • @MrsRoy07‌ love tit for a/s. I'm sorry you got sick. Maybe slight food poisoning or a 24 hour bug? Thanks everyone for the T&Ps. I've determined today will be my bad day this month. Between MIL and my sis, DH and I are both snippy and we were apparently late on paying our phone bill :-?? A letter would have been nice saying that something went wrong with the automatic payments. And now I can't even get the effing printer working. At least DS and LO are doing well.
@jennhillhoite Thank you! So sorry you're having a rough day- it's totally understandable with everything going on! I really hope your little sis is ok, that must be so scary for her. :/

I was thinking that was it.. I have fun pink accessories to my Starbucks today in the form of girlie bag/sleeve that say La Boulange. Thanks mama

I should probably save this for FFFC but I've been too busy going through three drive thru's this morning because I have no self control.

And then I accidentally threw my food bag in the trash half eaten. I'm going to go cry now.

Eh, not to our faces. I personally like it more because it's better quality. There are some items I liked more, or that I miss, so I feel ya.
  • Hoping my car is done being worked on today! I want to go to a consignment sale to check out their double strollers.

Also, the weather report is making me grumpy. It's supposed to be up to 106 on Saturday, with the rest of the week in the 90s. I want to stop using the ac and wear sweaters! :(( Doesn't help that my Dr told me to stay out of the heat because of my blood pressure.

  • I had burger king French toast sticks this morning :D then took my dog for a ride to petsmart and target. I found the book Goodnight Goon in stock which I've been trying to buy since last year! Time to start packing up the house today. DH is leaving for a while next week so I get to pack the entire house up... Yay.
Also, we just found out last night he's having heart issues. We had to take him to the ER on base because he felt like he was having a heart attack. Couldn't talk, barely breathing, hands clenching his chest. It was horrifying. We are waiting on his test results now.

@StephanieLBerg So sorry you're still sick. :( I had a few days of feeling like I couldn't eat anything because it'd just come right back up, so I can't imagine going through that as badly and regularly as you are. Hope you find some relief!

  • Yay, my Old Navy order just got here. Hopefully the pants fit. Most of my pants are getting uncomfortable and I'm tired of the hair tie trick. ETA: these pants are ridiculously comfortable. They're the boyfriend jeans, so they have some stretch. Question for S+TMs - these have the full panel which is snug (though not tight) now. There's a little more room for growth, but not much. Should I go up a size or can I fold the panel down as I get bigger? Or it is surprisingly stretchy and I should be fine?

You will be suprised how the full panel stretches. But it shouldn't be a problem to roll it down either. If you go up a size, they might get too baggy in the legs.

  • @krendel1990‌ my mom called their GP who said not to worry about it and that it was normal. Otherwise she would have been to the Dr much sooner.

My mom got back from the ER where the Dr just wanted to put my sister on BC. My mom asked for a blood draw since thyroid problems and diabetes run in our family. As soon as they took blood my sister had a seizure but they sent her home anyway and she gets the results Saturday.

MIL just went back 20 mins ago. The surgery before hers went long so I'm praying hers is short and easy. What a freaking day!

Bright note: DH just bought Rosalyn leggings. It's the first item he's bought her and he got all teary eyed when I explained how leggings are worn.

  • TL;DR We're broke, can't do much for my birthday, my husband has been stressing out, and one of our pet rats is sick and might not have too much longer to live.

It's my birthday tomorrow and I'm feeling a little mopey because we're totally broke right now after our Wisconsin trip. My husband just let me know that we can go out for dinner at least, which makes me feel better, and I feel bad for feeling mopey about my birthday. It's definitely not a big deal, and the trip was worth it for sure.

Got my flu shot yesterday and my arm still hurts.

I'm worried about my husband because he lets stress build up until he just breaks down. We got back from our trip, stressed out over our money situation (which will be fine in a month or two, just have to rebuild the buffer) and then burst into tears over our oldest pet rat Lady who just started developing a lump on her side two weeks ago. We can't afford to take her to the vet, and we don't think we'd want to have it removed anyway because the stress of surgery might be too much for her. We're going to wait until she starts showing any signs of the lump bothering her, or hindering her ability to move...

I love having rats, but I don't know if I can put my husband through losing them again. They have very short lifespans, and this whole situation just sucks. I feel like him hurting is my fault, because I was the one that insisted on getting them in the first place.

That is truly amazing!!!! What industry do you work in?? Maybe it's time for a change of profession when I return to the workforce...

@AshleySparkle720‌ Praying your husband will be okay! Does he have a family history of heart-related problems? I ask only because my dad did, but our stupid family doctor didn't take into consideration the fact that my dad's dad and grandfather both died young of heart attacks. He didn't refer him to a heart specialist despite that rather important family history fact. Had we all paid more attention to that instead of the idiot doctor, maybe my dad would still be alive. Not trying to scare you, just want to be sure you and YH are well informed and taken good care of by a competent doctor.

@erobbins09‌ Totally made my day!! So happy y'all have reconciled. :)

  • Ill have to catch up but I've been running around the building like a crazy person this morning. Bill Gates is here, since he is a major source of our funding. He's squirreled away in a conference room and isn't staying for the Advisory Board meeting but I'm hoping to catch a glimpse!!
Good luck with the busy day! I actually used to work for the Gates Foundation years and years ago, and while he wasn't as active of a participant back then (he was still actively working with Microsoft), I did get to meet him briefly once, because the family hosted foundation employees at their house for an end-of-summer party one year. We were told no plus-ones, because we were already 400 people by then, and also that the foundation was expanding so rapidly that an event like this would never happen again, because they didn't have the capacity at their house for more than 400 people (hard problems, I know!). So it was pretty special!

The meeting, frankly, nothing special, just a hi and nod situation, but that house is incredible. There is a TRAMPOLINE ROOM. You have to take your shoes off first, and then you enter this small room where the whole floor is a trampoline, and you can just bounce and bounce and go crazy!

    OMG, have SO much fun!!!

I was in Paris last fall, and with all the fancy food available there, my favorite was still this adorable little creperie. It's like one sweet older man who does everything (host, waiter, cook), so service is a bit slow, but it's worth it!

    Bon voyage!

PS also, I've heard lots of recommendations for compression socks for long plane rides, to manage swelling, especially for pregnant women.
