My company just announced that they changed their Maternity Leave options. It includes FULL pay for 4 weeks before delivery and 14 weeks of FULL pay after.
I immediately burst into happy tears when it was announced a few minutes ago! I love my company even more now!
(They also announced a Student Loan Refi Program and that was just the damn cherry on top) HAPPY DANCE
That is truly amazing!!!! What industry do you work in?? Maybe it's time for a change of profession when I return to the workforce...
@AshleySparkle720 Praying your husband will be okay! Does he have a family history of heart-related problems? I ask only because my dad did, but our stupid family doctor didn't take into consideration the fact that my dad's dad and grandfather both died young of heart attacks. He didn't refer him to a heart specialist despite that rather important family history fact. Had we all paid more attention to that instead of the idiot doctor, maybe my dad would still be alive. Not trying to scare you, just want to be sure you and YH are well informed and taken good care of by a competent doctor.
@erobbins09 Totally made my day!! So happy y'all have reconciled.
The majority of people on his moms side have heart issues. None of them have had problems starting this young. DH is 24 and is active duty military so luckily they are sending him to a couple specialists because his resting heart rate is currently under 50. They said at the very least he has a heart murmur. So to say I'm scared is an understatement.

I'm just tired. Where is this extra burst of energy that is suppose to come in the second tri?! Because I sleep like 9 hours at night and then want to nap an hour later
We moved three months ago and I'm still loving with massive clutter and boxes. Dh works from 8-7 sometimes more and sometimes sat so we never get it done at night!
We are making maple brown sugar cupcakes with the boys after school today (sorry, food mentioned) and I'm going to eat way too many and not feel one bit guilty!
@erobbins09 I'm so happy that she's come around. Sharing these pregnancies will be so special for the two of you!

ETA: hubby was able to feel the baby last night. Not the movement but he was close enough to my belly button that you could feel him, like a hard lump. He eventually moved and that spot felt like the rest of my bump. DH was over the moon!
In the lobby of my mfm for our a/s take 2! So excited!

The video interview went ok. I don't feel like I nailed it but I don't feel like I bombed it either. So we'll see. Thankfully I am pretty happy at my current job and honestly the benefits of my current situation would be really hard to beat, so not much to lose either way.
I just got back from my a/s and everything went well. Baby is healthy, HE started off on HIS belly, then rolled to give us the money shot and moved back to his back for the rest of the scan. A very cooperative baby and all our measurements were taken quickly.
Now I get to fawn over the little feet, little hands pictures the tech printed for me. I'm in a very very happy place. Tomorrow I'll be in an even happier place -- we're leaving for Maui for our babymoon and my bday!
My cat is pulling out her fur and her skin looks irritated in some spots. I already took her to the vet 2 weeks ago and they gave her a antibiotic shot and a steroid shot. It got better, but now the hair pulling is getting worse again. I already changed her food to a new game (rabbit based) and grain free . Don't know what else to do for her and I am sick of cleaning up her clumps of cat fur in my house. .
@cls78 I have to go in once a year to get one of my cats a steroid shot because of this, our vet contributed it to allergies of some sort even though we still don't know what it is causing it.
I got told at work today that Im a beautiful pregnant and thatim lucky because not all women are. Ummm thank you?

Oh, you guisse! I just went through some of the 0-3 and 3-6 clothes from DS to see what I could keep for DD and what I can sell. It breaks my heart to say goodbye to some of my old favorites. I'm going to have DH pull down the NB stuff today or tomorrow, I know that is going to be the very worst ever. Someone hold me.

Update... My MFM said my lab work looks good but he's going to keep a close eye on my BP because it's still borderline and will tend to go up the more pregnant I get. Other than that, the girls look great, still right on track and I'll see them again in a little over 2 weeks! Now waiting for my OB appt. And Kinley and Kierri are totally boxing in there right now... Geez!

I'm glad he's going to a couple of specialists! Praying for positive outcomes at both visits.
I'm going to play the would you call your doctor if...game.
For the last 3-4 days I've been very uncomfortable, with pain in the front of my belly (not RLP) and more pain in my back than usual. My feet also started swelling quite a bit yesterday and i'm drinking quite a bit of water. I'm tempted to call and just be like, just fyi... should I be concerned? But I also have an appt in 5 days so part of me wants to wait it out. Probably just normal pregnancy crap, right?
I work close to work and go home for lunch almost every day. Today I was home and catching up on The Voice while eating. I cried at like 3 stories. WTH? Hormones I tell ya.
@kismetjess I would call. It can't hurt. It can provide you piece of mind.

If it were me, I would definitely call if I had pain and swelling for that many days. It's better safe than sorry!
@chickenhawke, I seriously am jealous of your company's maternity leave policy. My tech company only got the large part but not the progressive part, but it surely loves to copy your company. Maybe I can live in hope my benefit would change at some point!?
I was in love with my second trimester till the other day...I was miserable with nausea my first trimester and now I keep having to randomly throw up UGH I'm exhausted again as well. DH has also been having "preggo dreams" but they involve him having to decide between saving me or the baby. Neither one of us can seem to catch a break. On the plus side, I went to a check up today and the baby is doing GREAT! My phone accidentally switched a word in a text to my mom this morning and so she thought I just found out we were having twins, FUNNIEST MOMENT EVER! She about had a heart attack and I was laughing so hard I was crying. So all ups and downs today weeeeee
We finally have a day visiting Vancouver where we are not all booked up! I read everything and love titd what needed it. Huge hugs to all the girls dealing with shitty shit right one, and yay for all of the good news!
This trip has been wonderful but I really miss DH. He gets back to his parents on Saturday evening from school and I can wait to give him a big hug. Then we are going on a big joint family trip to the pumpkin patch. It is the local one DH and I went to as kids and will be Ella's first time. I cannot wait!
Again, missing you ladies and I'm looking forward to getting back to FL and our normal routine. I'll be a better board member once we get back home again!
1. I woke up to a text from Chase bank notifying me of a potentially fraudulent charge to my credit card. Indeed, I was not up buying sexy lingerie in the middle of the night. Now I have to get a replacement card. Boo. I was just starting to get this one memorized after I had to have my old one replaced because of the Target breach.
2. I got my flu shot today. I am participating in a study for pregnant women, so I am getting paid $125 for it, plus I found out I get to do some bonus parts for $50 in Target gift cards. So, that's exciting!
3. Today is my 4th wedding anniversary, so DH and I are going out for a nice dinner after he gets off work Yay!
Had my ultrasound (a/s) the other day! They said the baby looks great, nice and healthy!!!
Found out from the mystery envelope we picked up from the midwife last night that we are having another boy! I'm so excited and so blessed! I love my boys! Can't wait to meet this one!
Random, from my pregnancy-tour-of-fast-food-joints:
I was sitting here at my computer this afternoon, thinking about dinner (naturally). And I thought, "hey, I'd be okay with a big salad or something... man, I'm still so full from lunch, wonder why?"
And it literally took me 10 minutes before I remembered, oh yeah, I had Wendy's for lunch, and not just a little bit, but: a large chili with cheese, a baked potato with bacon and cheese, and a six-piece chicken nuggets. Oh, and a strawberry lemonade.
*talking about her oversized pajama top* "At least you can't see my boobs anymore." "Nia, you don't have boobs." "I mean my pectorals."
LOL... I LITERALLY LAUGHED OUT LOUD!

They make that food too damned cheap is what. And tasty.
I had a mcgriddle & two hashbrowns from McDonald's, then I drive to jack n the box & got curly fries, AND THEN I drove to whataburger and got a honey butter chicken biscuit & more hash browns (which I sadly did not get to eat because I accidentally threw the bag away). Sooooo don't feel bad @crabigator

I actually craved salad and crisp veggies with my first one, but also desserts. I called it the broccoli-and-brownies diet. There's a local chain here that does a big fancy-salads case where you can pick any three as your meal, but they also sell oversized macarons and butterscotch puddings. And a huge variety of flavored lemonades. I was there a LOT during my first pregnancy!

DH might be bringing me 2nd dinner of fried chicken with a side of bacon pancakes! I'm such a hobbit this pregnancy. Breakfast, second breakfast, 11sies, etc. First tri all I wanted was raw veggies with rice vinegar and pickled beets, but I don't want anything like that now. Give me all the cheese-smothered, greasy, fried, buttery goodies!
