@meladoriestar Yay! I hope the spotting has gone away for good!
While D is helping a new generation of coders become awesome (he volunteers for a program that teaches programming to the young'uns), I decided to make some zucchini bread. But all I really want is the Snickers I stashed in the fridge.
Oh and I'm 17 weeks 2da!!
Andplusalso... I have to say, ladies, I'm a little saddened that some of you have missed out on the awesomeness that is Ice Cube. At the very least, you should be aware that the "Bye, Felicia" meme originated with his character from the movie Friday.
I'm so annoyed. DH is at a golf outing and DD had finally fallen asleep for her nap, so I was all comfy in my bed, by myself, for the first time in forever, and my doorbell rings. 3 times in less than ten seconds. WTF!?! Turns out it was a couple of kids selling stuff for the local school. I feel like this shouldn't agitate me so much, but why ring the bell like that!?! Ring it once and wait. If you're old enough to parade around the neighborhood by yourself, you should know better. Now I can't fall asleep and I feel like a grouchy old lady for not buying anything from the kids. ::waves cane, get off my lawn!::
I want ice cream, but I can't decide which kind! This is a serious problem ladies and I need your help! I have mini drumsticks, rocky road, chunky monkey, and dulce leche. What's your opinion? I may need a poll for this, although that may take too long.
All this talk of pumpkins reminds me to go be a stalker at my local grocery store. I've been circling like a shark,, waiting for sugar pumpkins to be in season. I want to make pies dammit, and my vines failed this year.
On an unrelated note, my DH is SO getting laid today. While I was out getting a pedicure, he did all the weekend chores. All of them! When I asked him what I was supposed to do to keep up my half of chores, he told me "keep up the hard work of building a human".

My random LOL of the day. I went to an alternative high school after my mom passed away when I was 16 and my dad hated it because of its reputation and people still to this day say "Ohh, you went to the *bad* high school." But, I just found out they were on Oprah for their achievements and family like atmosphere. Ha, take that! I loved them and I'm glad they're being recognized.
We had sex for the first time since conception. I will now spend the next two days obsessively checking for spotting or bleeding.
Yay for sex! Hopefully there's no spotting. Did I tell y'all that after my cerclage we can officially have no sex/no orgasms for me?!? Even though I don't feel like it anyway right now, that's a loooong time with none at all!

I was not missing the sex at all. I did miss the intimacy though. I was getting down that S wasn't even trying anymore because the answer was "no" for so long.
No spotting so far!
And it's been a loooooong fucking time coming but I am just days away from passing my first milestone - no bleeding! I cannot believe that I might actually be bringing home a baby in 6 months.
@Peledreamsofrain I'm so jealous of your dh right now lol. I can't get my dh to do anything, not even a date night or sex. He's been so tired. He had blood work done on Monday and I hope the Dr can figure out what's going on. I want him to feel better and it's affecting our relationship.
My dd has her third year molars coming in and I've been doing a lot of physical activity at work so I am barely moving today. So yay for toddler shows and lounging around lol.
I think everyone here will appreciate this. I was lurking on May '15 and they had a bunch of "is anyone x weeks and x days?" threads. Hooray for our board not being the only one to start out that way!
DH and I are lazing around today. House is all clean and we have nowhere to be this weekend, so it's been nice just to relax! I hope everyone has fun at the pumpkin patches this weekend...we have an apple festival coming up and I am so excited!
My random: DH made this for me for our anniversary. How cute is he!?
@wonknessmonster He is pretty amazing! I'm going to have it framed to hang over the cradle. I bawled my eyes out when he gave it to me and he freaked out and thought I was upset, haha!
Laziest day ever. I feel miserable again - and I'm pissed at my H for just about everything...from bringing me bad grapes to still having a beard to being completely irresponsible with money. But my SIL sent me a fluffy maternity robe and mother to be care package. And I have plenty if comfy maternity clothes thanks to my Grandma so I guess I need to stop feeling sorry for myself.
I know nothing of ice cube ladies.
So apparently the bank is being very cautious of fraud charges. After purchasing my 50 dollar (51 dollars including tax!) Pnp this morning (thank you @mangomimosa I was waiting for this!) They put a hold on my card because they thought it was fraud.
Um I use my card on amazon at least once a month! Thanks but that prompted my card being declined at target this morning, which I don't think has ever happened to me so cue panic. I tried to stayed calm and just gave the woman another card. No sense in holding up the line. Called and that's when I found out. Thanks bank but all those charges are me. ;;)
@chilibeansm0m this happened to me too! I bought a pack n' play on amazon (I also want to thank @mangomimosa for the PSA) then my card was declined at Best Buy! We are also frequent Amazon buyers. Weird.
Sidenote: I totally went with the purple "girls" pnp because it was the most reduced-price style for the newborn napper/changer model. If I have a boy it's not like he'll give a shit, and it's cute!
March '15 October Siggy Challenge: Halloween Costume Fail
@psychbear & @chilibeansm0m I feel like I owe you both an apology, hah! Glad you took advantage of the deal though. I love Amazon. I've been watching the daily deals obsessively & this one was too good to pass up!
I got the one with the portable change & carry section. The bassinet is 1/2 size but I liked that the changer goes up to 25 lb. I'm getting ridiculously excited about this whole baby thing...
@mangomimosa I bought one too, so thank you!!! No bank calls yet- we'll see.
I got the one that is grey and mint green with a bassinet and changing table included. That sounds like it may have been the one you got as well. Such a good deal, and it's really the first baby thing we have purchased! (Although my mom did get us a onesie that says "I speak Wookie," teehee.)
@chilibeansm0m I loved the owl one too! The design is super cute!
Today was my first day as a volunteer assistant coach for the local swim team for children with intellectual disabilities. It was AWESOME and I hope they let me keep volunteering even after the semester is over and I'm out of the class that set me up for the volunteer opportunity. It felt nice to get in the water after many years, and it felt even nicer to be working with special needs kids again -- I was a special needs nanny for many years and worked at a school for mentally challenged children in Africa for two summers. Sooooo awesome.
And then I got pumpkin spice frozen yoghurt afterwards, hell to the yes.

I taught at an alternative high school before our move. I loved my students. I'm glad you had that available.
@thejucheidea I think that's so amazing, my dd is autistic and I've seen the difference something as small as swimming or sports changes them. It's a sense of independence and "fitting in" that they don't often get to experience
I'm so sick of my in laws controlling every single moment our nephew is around. The kid doesn't even know who the hell his aunts and uncles are because they feel the need to hold him every waking moment. Never mind the fact they have 2 full days a week with him and we see him maybe once a month but they're always around when we see him and have him the whole time. His mom doesn't seem to care if any of us are involved so I'm just getting to the point where I'm done trying.
I told H I'll be damned if they think they're gonna hover over our kid that much. Our son WILL know who his entire family is, not just his grandparents. They aren't the only ones that matter and they're gonna be so mad I think that we don't give them full control of our kid like they have with my nephew.

If you have chase as your bank, they had an online cyber attack that potentially gave the hackers peoples info. It's frustrating because they call me after any purchase and they also make you enter In the 3 digit security code at some stores to verify you have the card. Nice to know they watch, but warning you before putting a hold on it would've been nice.
I have to aw for a second: I finally felt full on kicks tonight while I Was going pee and now it's non stop! I'm so happy I'm almost starting to believe that I'm going to meet this baby in five months!! Yay
I have a question for you ladies and I don't see a symptom thread for today, so I'll ask here, if that's ok? Today and yesterday I've been having off and on cervical pain. It's dull, and sometimes quick. No spotting, no cramping that I can feel. Heartbeat is fine on doppler. Of course dr. Google tells me preterm dilation but I refuse to overreact. I'm thinking maybe the baby is kicking my cervix and I just can't feel the movement yet? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Ugh...my favorite day care has 3 infante openings right now. I was hoping they would have a waiting list that opened up next summer. She is wonderful and only charges $125 per kid, per week. For us that works out to $1000-$1250 per month depending on where where the extra week every 2-3 months catches up. For her sake I hope she fills them but I selfishly hope 2 are still open
We saw a beautiful big dog get hit by a car late this afternoon. I think he had got out of his yard. The owners saw it too. The driver just drove away. Everyone was crying. The owners were obviously hysterical. The dog lived for a few minutes and we stayed with him and then he passed. A lot of people stopped to help and were kind. DH and I can't sleep. Too upset and can't stop seeing it. I'm so sad.
That is so super sad. I hope you are able to get some sleep soon.
I still tear up over a squirrel I saw hit. A dog would definitely hurt my soul.
@nannabee21 I got that often with Jonah and I can assure you that even on the night I lost him my cervix was tightly closed maybe 30 minutes before he was born.
He hung out on my cervix. He was down so far that even the u/s tech at the MFM office couldn't get good views of his legs. She actually asked the doc if she wanted her to do a transvaginal u/s to get his legs.
I think it's definitely possible you're getting baby kicks to the goods but if you're concerned I would recommend talking to your doctor about it at your next appointment and seeing if maybe they can just double check.
Thank you so much @chaysefaith! I pounded some water and it seems to have let up. I haven't felt it in several hours. I will definitely talk to my doc about it, but having had my last appt less than a week ago I'm not going back for a few weeks and if it was something serious Id call. PgAL brain gets me, so I'm trying not to freak out about every little thing.
Thanks again for your input and I'm happy that you're almost to your loss milestones with no problems!
