Had the 1 hour Tuesday and got the call that I failed today. 3 hour is next week. This happened with my last pregnancy but I passed the 3 hour despite getting very ill and passing out during the test. Not looking forward to it at all...especially knowing what its like.
Also found out I am anemic and iron is low. Which sucks balls too.
I go in for my 1 hour tomorrow morning. Last time I was pregnant (before I m/c) the nurse who sent me over told me to to get breakfast on the way. Being a FTM I had no idea that was a bad idea and BOMBED it. This time I thankfully know better.
I had my test on Tuesday and was sure I was going to fail. I polished off a bag of candy corn the night before in anticipation. I found out this morning that I passed!

Took one hour test on Monday. Failed and am very anemic. Take the 3 hour test tomorrow. This is my 4th pregnancy and first time I've had to do the 3hour. Would love to know why my doctor was shocked im anemic when I have been for 33 years and it was in my chart. I faint or have seizures each time I have blood work so this is really going to suck.
Failed the one hour on Monday and have to go do the 3 hour test on Saturday morning. dreading the drink and the every half hour blood drawn. I'm going to buy a nice e-book to get through the 3 hours. Any book recommendations? I also found out I need to take iron supplements and they apparently make you constipated - just what I needed!
I'm not due till 1/1/15 so I'm a little behind everyone. Dr told me to head to the lab between 26-28 weeks which will start next Thursday. I passed with dd last time but was anemic. No surprise there. I'm interested to see if I am again.

I had mine last week at 28 weeks. It was the screening (1H) and the dr called one week later on my birthday to say it was abnormal. I am very disappointed but it is what it is. I eat well, and compared my fitness pal log with the GD recommendations and I already eat to their requirements....so I'm not sure what's wrong. Anyway, I'm going to schedule the 3H GTT tomorrow....but it'll be next week. I'm not sure about it, I fainted on my first blood draw with dd, and also post partum in the hospital after a blood draw. I'm very concerned about fasting for 14h then another 3.
Took mine two Mondays ago, found out this Tuesday I failed with a 138. Have to schedule my 3 hour for Monday.
I was kind of pissed it took a week to hear back, I figured everything was fine, then nope you failed! All well, happily my DH is the best and is taking the day off to come with me. (I have a fainting history with blood work so 3 hours will be tough I think.)
Update* failed my one hour at 161 - took the 3 hour on Wednesday and passed. I was convinced I was going to fail. It's really odd - I passed all 4 blood draws- they double the amount of glucose from the one hour so I was convinced I would fail the first one hour draw - but nope I passed well within range for all 4.
Had my glucose test a few weeks ago. I also thought the drink wasn't bad at all. I passed, my iron levels look good and they also tested my thyroid (bc I my hair is falling out vs. those luscious manes you're supposed to have) and that was normal too. So all good here. I thought for sure I'd fail with my sister having GD and I have a chocolate problem .
Passed initial blood draw, passed 1 he test and took 3hr test yesterday so won't hear results until Wednesday next week at my Drs appointment. Really hoping I passed!
Had 1 hr test last week and it came back normal. Never had problems with blood sugar but was really nervous about results for some reason - so relieved!
Had my 1hr last Thursday-got no news. So I called today. I passed! She said anything under 135 is good. I was 108! In other news....all my other routine 28 week bloodwork ( including checks for anemia and syphilis) came back normal! I did not know they were checking for syphaliis -but it's always good to hear u don't have it! Edited for fat finger typos
I had my 1 hour last Monday and failed. Had my 3 hour/4 draw test on Monday (which I was terribly anxious for because I'm a total needle-phobe...I may have cried when I found out I failed!). I got the call later on Monday that I passed all 4 draws. So relieved.
I have mine on Wednesday morning, passed with my first pregnancy but I have felt differently this time and am a little anxious this time. Hoping all goes well and it's all in my head.
Mine was on Wednesday. I won't hear anything if I passed, but they'll call if I have to go back for the 3-hour. Fingers crossed that I don't get a call!
Just checked test results and passed mine. Woohoo! Not anemic but very close - technically, my whites & reds were both out of range but close, so my office is calling it a pass. Which I'm cool with, but will definitely be eating more spinach & red meat in the near future.
Wait, I need to take my Glucose test still? Hahahaha... Oh my OB office hates me. But I know how it makes me feel and I have been ill for over 2 weeks now. They will live. The plan is tomorrow as long as I do not run another fever today.
Passed the GD test about 2 weeks ago but failed the iron test. No idea what the levels were but I told my OB yesterday that I was worried about poisoning myself with all the iron they put me on. She said that with my levels being as low as they were, there's no way I'd poison myself. I hear I should see a big difference in my energy levels so I'm still waiting on that! Can't wait!
For all those who passed, what did you do prior to test. Did you get to hydrate during the 1 hour wait?
Not really much different. Ate a protein-packed breakfast, but that's not any different than my current habits. Was allowed to get water during my 1 hr. (Not doing a 3 hr since I passed...).
Just a general heads up though: Best to not try to 'game' your results. Having to undertake a GD diet is not nearly as bad as how it potentially affects your LO if you do have untreated GD. (From observation: My sis had it with her youngest since she was well in her 40s when she had her youngest. She's definitely the most balanced eater/exerciser and leanest of all of us).
Hufflepuff 42 - what did you have for breakfast and how long after did you have test? Just trying to get info. Afraid the drink will not stay down. Thank you for your honesty. I am not looking to trick the test. I have been on bed rest for 4 months with no activity, 39yo, and healthy eating with some food allergies. so don't expect to pass
I took mine yesterday ! When it came time to draw blood , i warned her that it's always 3 or 4 sticks before anyone gets a vein and that if I don't eat or drink water before I get my blood drawn , I pass out. Tuuuurns out , she got it on the first stick and I stayed conscious the whole time ! Woop!! Hahah . Ohhh and I passed ! (:

Scrambled eggs and a couple of slices of toast with butter. (I have this bread because it's lower in sodium content overall. Started the habit when there were concerns about my BP after my Radioactive iodine treatment). I also think I did my test close to soon after the labs opened ~8:45a...

how long between breakfast and drinking glucola? Thank you for the help. I have Ezekiel bread too. Did you sip any water during the hour ?
I had it a few weeks ago, 1 hr test, results came in 2 days, 86 right smack in the middle. Doctor cleared me no GD! He even told me "stop and get ice cream on the way home" then was shocked when I told him I ate ice cream for dinner 2-3 nights a week lol. Go for the orange drink! Good luck ladies'
Took my 1st one the Saturday before Labor Day but they "forgot" to send my blood in that day and since the lab was closed through Monday (for the holiday), the blood sample was no good... So I had to go back in the following Saturday for trial 2... Failed at 151 and iron levels so low my doc said that if I had to deliver today, i'd likely need a blood transfusion.... I'd been fretting that whole week since my father has type II diabetes (and my sweet tooth is insatiable) so I went in for my 3 hour test last Thursday and got the results on Monday... I passed with flying colors! Not sure what the deal was with the 1st test but I'm just so relieved! I'm now taking an iron supplement in addition to my prenatal and feeling awesome Good luck to everyone!!!
