I failed my 1 hour and have to go in Wednesday for the three hour. I have to say that now I'm freaked out because of @MJLovey and @summersunshine916 ! Oh well. I've decided to be fatalistic about it since it is really mostly out of my control at this point.
@AnonnAni I sadly thought the same thing, they told me I failed over a week later. Kind of pissed me off it took so long for them to call me, it made me have to wait a whole week more before I could take the 3 hour. Took it Monday and I'll call tomorrow if I dont hear anything.
Same thing for me. Took a week and a half to find out I failed the 1 hour. I took the 3 hour last Friday and found out Monday that I passed. Try not to worry!
I really think my ob nurses just fail at communication, I took my test last Monday, still haven't heard. Plus I also had them send out a urine test for a uti I think I might have (on the same day) haven't heard back from that either. So basically I could have a uti and not be on meds for an extra week. But when I tried to call them 3 times at 3 separate occasions the phone just went to voice mail....
Sitting at the lab waiting to have my blood drawn! I'm in for the 1 hour test and they gave me a cherry flavored drink... Personally I thought it was a little too close to the consistency of maple syrup, but it sure did get the baby moving!
Had my 1 hour glucose test on Friday and according to my doctors office I failed with a 138, their threshold is 130. But according to national standards through the NIHH and ADA I passed, their threshold for pre-GD is 140. I have declined the 3 hour test and will continue to eat clean and workout just as I have been throughout my whole pregnancy (and before pregnancy). I was also told NOT to fast before my 1 hour so I ate only protein and they took my blood draw before the 1 hour was up. I'm going to go with not accurate.
I took the 1 hour test about 2 weeks ago and found out today that I failed Taking the 3 hour test tomorrow. I eat a very low sugar diet so I'm thinking my system went into shock after drinking the juice because I'm just not used to it. My weight is good, I eat healthy, and have great blood pressure so I'm not too concerned, just not looking forward to having to drink that sugar bomb again.
Just finished the double dose of Glucola for the three hour. Thankfully, they let me sit in a private room for now. Fingers crossed that I can keep it down and pass the test!
Not being able to drink water is one of the worst parts, in my opinion. Three hours of that today, plus fasting on top of it. You'd think they could come up with a more humane way to determine this! So relieved to discover that I passed.
I took the two hour test yesterday, and just got the call with the results, I passed! Yaay! Now if only I could figure out why I get sick every time I eat...
I'm waiting for my first blood draw for the 3 hr. It started out poorly with them missing the vein in my right arm and having to switch to my left arm for the fasting draw. But I passed that one so I drank the icky drink and am now waiting. The drink hasn't made me nauseous yet but it definitely makes me feel dizzy. It's going to be a long morning. For anyone who still has to take this test, I totally agree with MJLovey's advice. Bring a bottle of water. My office only allows little sips but they are a life saver.
Had a scare though as i got a letter in the post saying the doctor wanted me to come in for a special appointment to discuss my blood test results.
Turns out my iron levels had just started dropping (still normal range though) so he just wanted me to start taking an iron supplement.
I had a terrible sleepless night though thinking i might have gestational diabetes (even though i know there still woudl have been a 2nd test to confirm it)
failed my 1 hour with a 134. the cut.off was 129. is that super low or is it just me?? regardless I'm taking the 3 hour on the only saturday I have available this month (18th)
Boo for all of us that failed the 1 hour. I know that none of us can be looking forward to wasting 3 hours of our busy lives on another test (while likely being hungry/thirsty in the process).
Does anyone know if we have to drink something nasty again? I really really really don't want to.
I wish I had better news for you. Not only do you have to drink the Glucola again, but about twice as much of it, and on an empty stomach. I took it yesterday, and it wasn't too bad. I drank a ton of water beforehand, since I wasn't allowed even a drop during the testing time. That seemed to help. Good luck to you!
@RaeChay Unfortunately you do have to drink the nasty drink again. Basically they either give you twice as much or they give you one that is twice as strong. I was lucky and only had to do the twice as strong one. I would have found it hard to chug two of those bottles. Yuck.

It's crazy that standards are different - I passed with a 134. At my OB office, the cut off is 140. Good luck with the 3 hr!
I failed the one hour and have to go back for the three hour Baby looked great though. He had enlarged Kidneys at the 20 week ultrasound but that is all cleared up now.
Did anyone have to be on a special diet for three days before the 3 hour test? I failed my 1 hour with a 143 and I was given instructions for my 3 hour next week. Basically they want me to overload my body with sugar for a few days beforehand to see how my body reacts in addition to fasting the day of. I have to have coffee or tea with 4 tsp sugar at every meal plus a 12 oz non diet soda every night before bed along with other random sugary things. As a pretty healthy eater that sounds kind of gross to me. And about half of the sample menus have milk or ice cream in them which I can't have bc I'm lactose intolerant so I basically have to eat the same three meals for three days. I've never heard of this kind of diet before a GD test!
So.....the 3 hour glucose test was just awful. I had the orange flavored stuff, and I felt like I swallowed pure sugar syrup. They took my fasting first, then I had to wait, then I drank the liquid yuck......and they took my blood every hour on the hour, for the 3hrs. So it as really 4hrs of me sitting at the labs waiting room...... got there at 6am and left at 10am.....I never wanna do that again....rice cakes and salad from here on out! Lol......i'll wait til the doctor calls with the results. Hoping I pass!
I passed my three hour only because I passed the second and third hour. My first hour was higher than it was supposed to be, but not by much. I didn't ask for the number. My OB told me to cut the carbs.
I had my one hour test on Friday and passed! I did the fruit punch flavored and made sure that junk was refrigerated and I drank it through a straw, to be honest it wasn't all that awful! It reminded me of Hi-C or something. Really glad that weight is off my shoulders.

Just took the 3 hour test yesterday and got an email with my results. I failed so looks like I'll be going to have to go on a diet and all.. I'm waiting for the doctor to give the call to confirm it. I'm going to miss my pumpkin roll!
Currently in the waiting room for my 3 hour test. Just drank the fruit punch drink. My one hour test was (elevated) Iv been putting this off for a week now so I just want it tk be over with. Already have a sinus cold so hoping this doesnt effect me too badly. *fingers crossed* that this will be over with today blahh.
