Some emergencies are not ambulance appropriate. Like your kid spikes a 105* temp- I certainly would not call an ambulance for that.
Plus also, I think calling an ambulance with both parents extremely drunk would warrant a CPS visit.
Nope- I strongly believe at least 1 parent should be sober enough to drive.
No one sober enough to drive wouldn't bug me as long as someone stays sober enough to hold the baby. My blood alcohol is probably too high to drive after two or three drinks. Two or three drinks would in no way prevent me from picking her up, carrying her around, taking a temperature, changing a diaper, cleaning up puke, etc. if something came up. A person I would consider extremely drunk wouldn't be able to do those things.

I would consider any medical emergency ambulance worthy. I would also consider a 105 degree tempt worth the call. If the house was on fire or there was an earthquake, I am perfectly capable of getting DS and myself to a safer area.
ETA: I'm curious what role CPS would play in this?
Can I leave a random here?
Just heard about a woman at our neighboring gym who has twins who recently turned one and just found out she is pregnant again...but she is 6 months along! She was nursing and her period never returned and she was tired but chalked that up to having twins. Holy crap.
Meanwhile, DH hasn't gotten the snip yet because he wants to switch insurance so more will be covered. So, January at the earliest for the snip snip. I CANNOT join team #uterusoccupied. But I also cannot go without the sex. I'm scurred and don't completely trust condoms, especially the way we use them.
Pray for me?
how many ways are there to use them?
Doing it without until it's "time" and then covering it up. Like stupid teenagers or something.

You and I seem to have similar opinions on condoms.
If your kid spiked a fever of 105 overnight, I sure hope you'd at least try to bring the fever down with motrin/tylenol and cool baths before you just decided to peel out for the ER. All of which would take at least an hour to see if there was improvement. At which point, if you hadn't sobered up, and didn't feel like calling an ambulance, at the absolute worst you could call a friend/neighbor to drive you. #teamTaylor
I can see @psychodocs categories now: CPS needs to be called parents, only one parent shall be locked away forever for their drinking, and then of course her group the holier than thous.
Not quite. Obviously there are others that see my point. If you disagree, fine.

Relax, they're grouped in with the holier than thous.

I don't consider myself holier than thou. I guess they can speak for themselves if they want.

Hey I'm not holier than thou I just know neither of us handle booze well.
My confession mirrors others--super jelly of the BFPs!! Were NTNP, but I'm broken and we're IVFers. Annoyed that we're now OOP and that's what's preventing is from trying another cycle right now. We both have major baby fever...even DH who wanted to be one and done...think his is worse than mine!
Guise, can we get back to what's important here? @mweav1025 has been active as of 5:00 pm today, and hasn't come back in here to answer for herself and her 2% household.

The ONE time I drank while DH was deployed my DD1 fell off one of the little step 2 slides onto grass (she was 5.) She broke her arm. I was at a neighborhood party so none of my neighbors could drive us because they had been drinking. I called my parents sobbing and they drove 45 minutes to take us to urgent care. It was my worst mom moment. I still feel terrible about it to this day,and that is why one of us are always sober.
After almost 3 years of IF and a crazy roadside delivery, we are loving life with our second beautiful daughter!
To me, being "extremely drunk" means that I wouldn't be able to hold DD without dropping her or falling over. So I wouldn't be comfortable with both me and DH being in that state.
By my definition of the term "extremely drunk", if someone were able to hold and walk with a child reliably, they probably aren't extremely drunk.
I think that is probably @psychdoc12's point... maybe this is all just people having different interpretations of that term.
Exactly. I think of extremely drunk as sloppy, falling down, blacking out, definitely not fit to care for a baby...
Given that my ex thinks chid support is optional, I LITrally have no monies but that means I don't have much furniture or cable or a tv. It doesn't mean I scrimp on MILK. Give me your address. Ill send you milk money.
Lolzzzzzz all over this thread.

The judgement is strong in this thread, so I'm not getting involved in anything controversial. I give no shits about whether you all approve of my actions as a mom, which is why I decline to participate in most parenting-related threads. I just came here to send @acethebase #allthehugs.
Thank you @rsigler I've always looked up to you for being so strong. Sending love and support back!
Taylor pass me a beer, I need it to read the responses to you being a responsible adult, drinking at home, then banging your husband. Your night sounds a lot better, Im sure, then most of the people judging you had.

Does he work? Can't they garnish his wages?
Self employed. But my county puts people in jail for nonpayment so we'll see what happens ...

Gotcha. Sucks. They might also be able to suspend licenses (driver's, hunting, fishing, professional, etc.) and/or intercept his tax returns.
Oh come on. Saying that you think that there should be at least one adult in the home who isn't falling down drunk when there's a baby to be cared for is NOT judgmental, it's just an opinion. People were being civil. And regarding CPS, someone, I think maybe it was @ellestaxx , has seen it happen so bringing up the possibility isn't outrageous or some kind of attack.
Seriously, what @petdoc12 said. No one was even being judgmental or rude about it. Everyone is getting so defensive about this - I don't get it. I don't think it's that crazy to suggest that there at least be 1 adult in the house who can pick up a crying baby if need be. And if you say you can, then that means you aren't black-out drunk, and this isn't even a conversation.
This is the most bizarre argument I have seen on TB.
Extremely drunk, falling over drunk, and black out drunk are all assumptions that were made from my post. I said we were super drunk, I was up walking and talking and obviously I remember the night so I couldn't have blacked out. Clearly my definition of drunk is very different than a lot of yours. I am not comfortable getting behind the wheel of a car after one beer, for example. I think that for what ever reason @psychodoc targeted me, though I'm not sure why.

I commented on the confession that stood out to me, as the 911 confession was well take care of at that point. That's not targeting. Since when are we baby center? We call each other out. Then a discussion ensues and if it turns out that I was interpreting your post in a way that it wasn't intended then that gets clarified and we call it a day. But now I'm being called judgmental and it's #teamtaylor and all this other silly crap. When I read super drunk, I interpreted that as well above the legal limit. I apologize if that it is not what you intended.

@acethebase Hugs to you. I saw a therapist after we lost our twin and it was helpful. Take care of you!
@tashad18 Congrats!

Oh, and @beernifer your "humor" is repulsive.
Did guy with black hat leave his hat on the whole time?
Also, guy with weird hair...what hair are we speaking of here?
