  • This is TMI.

My ass still hurts and the doc is sending me to a GI specialist on Monday.

So I have in laws staying with me starting tomorrow through Monday night. My ass is getting scoped Monday morning. And then I go back to work Tuesday morning.

What the actual fuck. Worst week ever.

  • @katekat8721‌ - hugs lady, I am sorry about your butt :(
  • @katekat8721‌ Um you have two. If I had two of my kid I'm not sure I would be able to get myself dressed much less the babies. So much respect for you twin mamas!

Poor thing. My butt has healed with conservative management (for now) but it took weeks! Worst than the delivery...
  • Also, sometimes I look at our boards baby pictures and think "wow they're dressed in actual clothes... with like, socks... and everything"

My girls are still nekkie in just diapers 90% of the time. To be fair, it's still hot here!

Max is usually in just a onesie. He only gets other clothes for special occasions and sometimes sleepers at night.

  • I'm not sure where to put this but I can't talk about it IRL yet. DF is fed up with his job (runs a family business and the dynamics suck). So he's looking to switch careers and is applying for a local police force. The hiring process is like 6-10 months. He's already getting stressed about it. If he does get hired, while he's at the academy it will be a huge pay cut for awhile.

I want to be supportive and know in the long run, this is the best thing but I'm getting stressed about the money and transition. I really hope his dad doesn't flip and fire him early. And I was kinda trying to plan a wedding....

Just owned some Facebook bitch on a local buy/sell/swap board who was calling me out for trying to sell/trade a bunch if similac formula/checks I can't use (trade or obo). Totally used every single "bullying" call out that I've ever heard from the bump just to get under her skin then deleted the group. Way to judge other moms just to make yourself look better bitch. You win the mommy wars. Go get the confetti, I'll start your parade.

(She was calling me out for not just donating it instead of looking for a trade, I threw out a random number but would have just given it to someone on the Facebook group if I didn't get any takers)

I would prob do the same thing esp since in our area people have taken donations and turned around and sold stuff a lot :-/
Well, I just bought about $100 worth of formula from a mom for $55 and it helped our family a LOT. If I can trade my formula (it was actually stuff I bought combined with stuff I got as samples) or give it to a mom for a LOT less than it's worth...why not??

So....who is anyone to judge, really?

Eta: we are low on formula. It costs about $35 a week. So if I go on Craigslist and find the same amount for $10 (unopened unexpired)...that's awesome!! Why would others want to reach our specifically to judge me for that? Or for doing that for others?? (And I don't care if any of that was free to that mom. It tastes the same to my son I promise)

I'd like to know if she also ff and has a clear understanding of the cost to ff. If I were ff I'd have done the same as you to help offput my cost. Because I don't ff, I donated what I had.

Random question I haven't seen before so sorry if I missed it so far. Our house is badly heated/a.c. and currently set at 77 and that will keep all the rooms at least cool. Dd will be cool to the touch on her head and back but will be roasting on her belly. How is tje best way to keep her comfortable? She has footed jammies on at night and will often wake up with cold toes but I feel like she is overheating since her belly is so warm. Sorry if that is just a jumbled mess....

At 77 degrees, I just have DS in footie jammies. You could put socks on under the footies, but that seems like overkill to me.

Also babies circulation is not as good in their hands and feet, so I wouldn't stress about cold feet as it's not a sign the baby is cold and you don't want to overdress the baby either. Our house is usually set 70-73 and a lot of times Max just has a onesie on or just a sleeper.

  • Our house is 76-77 and I have babe in footie pj's and a lighter weight Summer sleep sack. She doesn't feel hot or sweaty or anything when she wakes up to eat but it sounds like she's wearing more than most of the other babes out there. I figure, I sleep with a sheet and a comforter, so two cotton layers on her isn't very much.

That's also what we do, plus a blanket. He needs to be warm to sleep well and doesn't ever seem too hot so I let it ride. When try less, he wakes up crying all the time.

  • @MommyWaldron how did you get that set up? Usually I have about 8 oz extra a day but I just started back at work and want to wait a few weeks to make sure the supply stays where it is. I got a bunch of bottles from Mother's Milk Bank of Ohio I was going to start collecting for but am curious about other ways to donate!
  • Baby with ear infection + toddler having problems with his asthma = I need a LOT more coffee.

Also, I blew my hair straight this morning and made it out the door without baby barf in it.  I'm basically Audrey Hepburn today.

This is my goal for every day, but it rarely happens.

  • I too managed to wash, blow dry and flat iron my hair today. The day was a total win just from that aspect, until our company attorney who thinks he needs to be in charge of everything, decided to step into my job. He fails to realize the reason why my last state inspection was so awful was because he got involved. He prevents me from doing the job I have done for the last 12 years. My boss over the last 12 years also left the company 2 weeks before I went out on maternity leave. My new boss is more of a go with what So and So say because he doesn't have a risk management background. So now I'm treated as if I'm incompetent, the resulting fines issued by the state due to our inadequacy are being blamed on me despite the mounds of evidence of where the program faltered and I don't have the one person who defended me around.

Loyalty to your staff was something that was always emphasised by my former boss. I passed up some great job opportunities because of my loyalty. Now, that is all gone and I think I may be job hunting. Unfortunately for my company, I am the only one on staff who does what I do so I have no idea how my potential leaving will affect them. And at this point, I really don't care.

  • I just signed us up for story time at a local exotic animal rescue.  They read a book and then you get to meet the animal from the book.  So excited, C will love it...as long as she's not afraid of the animal.  We'll also get to tour the entire facility to she'll get to see all the animals (everything from cute fluffy to giant alligators).

This sounds amazing! I want to go :-(

Nebraska. I'm sure our zoo has something like that. At least I hope it does considering it's ranked as a top zoo in the world!

I should add, I want to go unless there's a snake. If snakes are involved, no deal!

Does anyone want to take over the daily bitch thread? theBump app is frying my cell battery/crashing my phone more than anything and I cant always guarantee I will be able to get on the comp in the morning to get it started.

@mrstgp‌, those are big shoes to fill. I could do it but it would be a 8-9am post. But and this is a BIG but, I could never find the awesome saltiness memes, ecards, and what not that you do!

  • Was thinking of starting a thread for anyone dealing with thrush... Wanted to see if there was interest first?
I know it's been a loooong and isolating 2 months for us (LO is finally cured but now it's lingering for me) and thought a check in could be helpful for anyone battling those yeasty beasties!
    Thoughts?

We became members of the local zoo today! We went with one of my girlfriends and her two LOs. I even feed giraffes today. I know LO won't really get the zoo for awhile but I'm excited to have a fun place to take him.

I went to the zoo yesterday with my girlfriend and her kids too! I know LO isn't getting anything out of it but it is a fun way to get out of the house.

Completely random but I am obsessed with hot sauce. I've never been really but since I've been doing the LiveFit trainer, I've found hot sauce is pretty much awesome on all the things. Egg whites? Brown rice? Quinoa? Hot sauce all over the place.

Pizza, sandwiches, in dips, on cracker and cheese.

Now I'm hungry for a ham and cheese omelet with hashbrowns! And you know what goes on all of it?!

  • I think a weekly thread is fine, @otter1103‌.

And a thank you to @Mrstgp for keeping the daily ones going for so long! And the funny memes!
